  1. Thank you to everyone who voted in the polls!

To give people more time to vote, and to give people who didn’t see the show in person a chance to vote I have decided to reveal the results on a date after the Rio broadcast (to be determined.)

This will coincide with a special episode of my Bitch She’s Madonna series covering the tour I have put together :luv:

Lucky you ! Here in France 20 years ago most people talked about her with huge respect, saying she was an example, always ahead of trends, looking sporty and healthy, making good music etc... just a few people were bashing her hands but it was a small amount of people. Now and for a few years everytime you mention Madonna people mock her, mentionning her bad plastic surgeries or bizarre behaviour...  Though it had changed a bit since the Celebration tour. I don't know where you live but you are very lucky. I wish it was that way here...

It's the same here and this is why I don't discuss Madonna with non fans. Apart from when I come on this forum :04:

    Same here!

But broadcasters work in time slots, and even though Madonna is an event for Rio and for an specific target, and it’s the EVENT, of the year, they might have a soap opera or a news program or a local artist that instead of bringing 5 million viewers like M, they would bring 20 million viewers…

This is how TV works and I have no clue about raitings or primetime Brazilian tv.

I thought you said you weren’t a TV producer?

Surely they wouldn’t demand the show only go for 2 hours so they can broadcast a soap at 11.45 at night? The fact it’s starting at the random time of 9.45 to begin with gives the impression they are already working around Madonna not the other way around

Now stop wasting time chatting about this and go get some Mexican dick!

Yeah I agree with that but one it’s at the end music and people might love the rendition or the interpretation of a song they don’t even heard before, but you give music that chance because it’s music

of course she must talk to the audience I hate singers that don’t talk to their audiences it’s so weird. I just mentioned she could be brief and maybe more often to engage the audience we might even get a million people singalong to music 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

My hope is that nothing is cut from the show, we get 2 hours 20 minutes. I don’t see why not.

Diplo is a good pop DJ, he has good skills.

I'm happy he's opening the show.

Meanwhile, Jesus Luz hasn't been doing well in these pics from 3 days ago; I think he began indulging in junk food after Madonna rejected him for her show 😅 😅He still looks pretty good, even though not as ripped as he appears on his social media accounts, just kidding...20240426094601205.thumb.jpg.578b94a72ad1ea10f3c4f058e1811a1b.jpg

He can indulge in my junk

maybe the bank spend a few extra millions to cut down the rambling during the show  The speeches are longer than the songs :dead:

I don’t think the speeches were that long earlier in the tour were they? I think 4 minutes talking to the audience twice is fine for a tv broadcast. It’s actually rather weird when performers don’t speak to the audience at all.

But how is she going to keep interest beyond “row” one hundred with, when I was young there was Frida Kahlo, the stink of piss and alcohol in the CBGBS and my hardworking kids?

I think interactions will be more frequent but shorter, like: you like my boobies Rio? Gostosos!!! Caralho!!! And that stuff

but what do I know I’m not a show producer 🤷‍♂️

But with that logic they should also cut Bad Girl, 5 minutes of her sitting down singing a flop single that only hardcore fans know/like.

that's true, but in MJ's case, we need to take into account that his career started long before Madonna's. He had 30 years worth of chart hits just like Madonna, but the timelines were not the same.

True but he was in a group, his solo career pre Off the Wall produced only a couple of hits. And there was a huge slump in his solo career from 1973 to 1979.

It’s like Cher too, she had hits across many decades but lots of years of flops. Madonna had consistent chart success worldwide 1984 to 2012 which is unprecedented.

  9. As for Madonna and relevancy, I think Hard Candy was when she started to become less relevant.

However I feel the last few years, in a strange way, she has become more relevant again. Yes the perception of her can be negative but she is more often in the news and being talked about, and her impact is again felt. There was a period before that where it actually seemed like nobody was even aware of what she was up to anymore and the younger generation didn’t even know who she was. I think her social media presence has grown though through tik tok, the tour, her back catalogue getting released properly on streaming/youtube and so on. Her streaming numbers have increased a lot in recent years. And yes, the shitty sexist/ageist commentary has actually helped her profile too.

I also think that she lets a lot of time pass between each album release, during which time, new artists rise to stardom and threaten her status and relevance in the music industry (only Sade can allow herself to put out albums every ten years). Look at Swift, Beyoncé and Lana Del Rey: they release albums almost every year, whereas Madame X came out in 2019! Sometimes I think that making abums bores her, but she is compelled to continue for the sake of relevance, it's just my impression

I actually wonder if there was too much label intervention with these past few albums for her to really enjoy doing them. Madame X sounds like the label came in half way through and said we need some trap, reggaeton, collabs etc. If the album was all Mirwais and her it could have evolved into something more interesting.

I understand, sorry. Of course thosee are just my feelings about it. I really don't feel E, ITG and BU, I don't like the coreos, the costumes are way too much for me and I also rarely feel the energy at a high level. I like the ITG finale though :cute: For me, after NRM, the show starts from OYH and I would not change ANYTHING till BIM.

I agree about Music being great, it's my favourite light dance track with Deeper and deeper, Express yourself and Living for love, it's amazing.

About the reasons of the final scrap, of course it was about not stressing her body too much, what I was supposing is that if it were too brilliant or essential they could not cut it out. Said that, I'd be happy if she performed it, I don't wanna be misinterpeted about that. It's just that what I read did not convince me, but - you know - it's all just "on paper", nobody ever really watched it so ...

    Again, no.
