  1. I'm dieing to hear the Like a Prayer demo tape put on sale a pair of years ago, wich also contained Angels with dirty faces: does anyone know what happened to that sale and especially to those recordings?

  4. Yeah the track has such potential and this arrangement really valorizes it It's a pity she went so far with the official version, because imo it doesn'r work as it could. I would have prefered if she did not include the robotic Tchaikovsky singing, it slakens the tension for me, I find it boring and not that effective; the spoken part is good, but I once again miss a reprise of the chorus or, anyway, a more vivid recall of the main theme before the ending piano, wich is beautiful (I made my own version anyway, so I listen to that when I want) There are two more edits from the same account, one is the Crazy vid already shared and then we have this edit of "Sodade"
  5. Yeah such a vocal mess Anyway I'm obsessed by this version of Dark Ballet, I think that if she would have released this jazzy sung version of the Joan of Arc words, this song could have been perfect, among her best ones. I'm so in love, my hopes are all for a demo recording and a future leak of it (even if at this point hoping to hear demos and unreleased seems almost impossible).
  6. I don't know if you already shared this, but it's good and yes!! We finally have a proper full version of the Dark Ballet performance I was waiting for. I'd like so much to have an edit like this of the full thing, the arrangements of Dark Ballet, Sodade and La Isla Bonita were beautiful and the idea of taking Like a Prayer on the street was cool and unexpected (even if I have to admit that her vocals in Crazy and La Isla are both tough esperiences )
  7. It was T R I N I T YYYYYYYY !!!! "The most stupid thing I've ever read"???? The good thing about this, wich is for me the good thing of all this last part of her career (with the excellent music production), is her authenticity, humility and awareness. Still, The Matrix refusal can't be forgiven (and she knows it) ... but do you imagine M in the Matrix look, the flying fightings, the possible soundtrack theme and the huuuge credit she would have earned for that after Evita
  8. I want a complete good audio of the whole thing so badly guys, I'm dieing to listen to the flow of the new arrangements and the slowed down, not filtered version of Dark Ballet, dieing!!
  9. Ok she was not vocally good, undeniable, but THIS is a musical direction! THIS is a live sound, the proper instruments unsamble to add value to her catalogue and THIS is the guy who should rework her music for the next events (the pianist I mean)! Loved the energy and the sound of it ... just the pity of her voice, wich is still there, listening to the Dark Ballet centre part and Sodade (wich sounded both awesome), it's just definitely not trained anymore.
  10. The arrangements sounded so good! I want to hear them in full, let's hope somebody in the room recorded it and the street mob was so unique I didn't like the vocals in the Crazy vid though, at all
  11. Where are you following guys? Is there a link?
  12. So I just finished to watch the show for the first time, I try to share my first impressions here: i'm long, sorry, but many of you do know me at this point. THE VIDEO: The editing is awesome, it slows right when the show starts to grow and I think it perfectly serves the cause: it adds value to the good things and diminish the weak points of the first set. Colours are maybe the most interesting and well balanced since the infamous Confessions tour film and the mise en scene is enriched by a sophisticated and expressive use of the colours, even if - honestly - rarely creative to be a theatre production. The sound is excellent in the majority of the tracks. I didn't like the dishomogeneity of the quality in the spoken parts, where they used mobile recordings, but it's ok, I like the idea she was fond of those moments and wanted to use them. The vocoder is not my cup of tea, after Music I started to hate it (Nobody knows me apart), but we already knew it would have been this way. MADONNA: And now the most important thing, the one I was really waiting for: the show itself. First of all, IT REALLY DOESN'T MATTER THAT SHE IS NOT ANYMORE THE TIRELESS, GRITTY, EXPRESSIVE MASTER OF PRECISION IN TERMS OF DANCING: SHE LITTERALY BRIGHTS OF THE ALLURE OF THE MATURE, CREATIVE, CONSCIOUS ARTIST SHE IS. And this happens so often with so many of her smiles, moves, interactions with the audience (even with some of her silly, funny jokes … some). She seduced me in a new way, as the artist she is today and, yes, I renewed my vow Her voice is still good, I read somewhere it's not at the level of her previous lives. It may be, but once again she sings songs she believes in and makes you feel it, totally. THE SHOW: The magic of the mise en scene really fascinated me, took me to another place and gave me a mixed feeling of freedom and “presence” that I still have while I'm writing. All of this starts just from the entrance of the Batukadeiras and went on, almost continuously, till the end of Like a Prayer. What caught me the most was the semplicity and craftmanship of the whole thing. Some consider this cheap in term of production, I disagree, I think she choose a “man to man” tone of voice, a radical theatre production. Once again, what does not excell is the underuse of the possibilities that theatre can provide in terms of lights and equipment: I think the only mistake she did was not entrusting a theatre director to design the show with her. Killers is magic, maybe one of her best performance ever, I consider Crazy the best coreography of the show, Batuka and Come Alive definitely get their purpose, thought and emotion provoking the first and joyful and hopefull the second, Extreme Occident, Frozen, Future are all highlights. What I found really weak is the first set instead, not captivating and honestly not well conceived. The problem for me is that it’s weak in terms of structure, the first three performances don’t create a narrative and emotional arch, strong enough to substain the impactful message they’re suppose to communicate. And I found hard to understand why the choreographies look so uninspired and flat: Dark Ballet was amazing in the Met Gala version, I really don’t get the point of the action here; Human Nature (the best arrangement of the song ever made imo, a real delight like some from the Girlie Show) is based on such a cool idea, very poorly developed, with an impressive ending though; Vogue is absolutely and effectively covered by the editing (very well done and she looks gorgeous); even in I don’t search I find the escape and hiding idea, wich is an excellent intuition, is just hinted, while theatrically could have set ingeniuos tricks. It’s never a matter of how hard the coreos push, it’s a matter of fantasy and developing the good ideas they are based on. It’s been so great guys, great to have met her again
  13. wow, that look guys, she's on fire! The way I'd like to see her more often Please whoever has the possibility, record what's gonna happen It's the official finale of the Madame X era and, after the preview of last night instagram posts, I'm sure it's gonna be awesome (in the meanwhile I'm finally ready to watch the concert after a two years waiting )
  14. THANK YOU @PanditaRulez, it's been fun and let's enjoy the new one (I will finally watch it tonight after two years )
  15. Just ... wow! Two roles that could have given her some acting credibilty! After the first Burton's Batman and during the Erotica era, that would have been perfect: she made Body of Evidence instead (but how unbelievably sexy she would have been in that role, the costume, the moves, the main theme - was such a good song) And after such a sophisticated and spiritual work as Ray of Light she refused The Matrix, one of the most philosophical movie ever made, to play Abbie in The best next thing What kind of team did she have around her? With Evita she could really have been a 90s movies protagonist with those roles!!! And maybe also could have finally won the Oscar having played a few good characters.
  16. WoW guys! She is finally singing the Tchaikovskji Dark Ballet interlude without any filter!! I need to see this, please whoever is going to attend the NY event on Saturday make video recordings, it seems she's reherasing Dark Ballet, Crazy and Like a Prayer with powerful vocalists and her voice sounds perfect: it's gonna be amazing!! Even if a live stream could be a good promo move imo (let me hope!)
  17. Sorry but I don't agree. I don't like the fast cut editing but I don't think the reason is covering a lack of action or the stiff movements. She started doing it so heavily since the MDNA tour and she still was in a good shape and maybe that show is one of her most cahotic in terms of action on stage. I mostly think it's a matter of taste ... unfortunately
  18. I did not know that they are pairing older with younger artists, this explains the choice better. For the rest, I just expressed a personal opinion and never said that he wasn't appreciated by others.
  19. I know and, even if I deeply appreciated the album, I thought the same about his feauturings and both of the tracks. In that case I thought it was about getting the attention of a younger audience. Said that, it would have been interesting watching her discussing with a more interesting character.
  20. It's not about being delusional (I don't share the Fallon thing, it's a tv show, they're friends, it's ok for me). It's about the status they should recognize to the most influential female artist of the last 40 years. She really gained a lot, she changed the game, created impressive albums and new ways to tell stories and messages mixing pop music with theatre, fashion, video art ... who the fuck is Maluma to share this talk with her? I can't imagine people like Sting or Springsteen being involved with, I don't know, Dua Lipa or similar.
