They called RHT a tour documentary and it had a few minutes long clip of her going around Detroit and other footage in the credits. So idk. I’d think some more than that but probably not that much

probably in the beginning and in the end. or something similar to Ariana Grande's latest tour film. I guess the ducumentary parts are going to be before and after the show and between the acts (American Life /Batuka, Extreme  Occident /Frozen)

When I look at the situation, it amazes me that Mylene Farmer recorded her concert in June of 2019, had it presented in theaters in several countries on November 7th and released it on both Ultra HD with Dolby Atmos and Blu-ray in December of that same year.

While Madonna's tour took two and a half years to come to a service non-Americans don't have access to, after extensive edits, with no information about a home video release.

These women are almost the same age, but one is far more productive lately.

Yet MF is mainly known in french speaking countries and former Russia, ukraine, Belarus...

This sounds so odd to me, cause I would never put a song on an album where Madonna thought it didn't belong. Beautiful Stranger doesn't fit either Ray of light nor Music and it doesn't belong on either of them, in my opinion. I just keep it under "The Spy Who Shagged Me"  and Time Stood Still under "The Next Best Thing". Be Careful, however, is literally a Ray of light outtake. Just don't put it on the album, keep with the outtakes. Always stay true to the original tracklist ??

you're actually right. back in the days of cd's and casettes we were listening to music the way it was put on a record in that specific order. but some songs sound like a leftover and would really enrich an album.

    Exactly!

All these songs rather fits on Music album for me, they have never really reminded me anything on Ray of Light.

    11. Amercan Pie

    12. Beautiful Stranger

    13. Be Careful

    14. Time Stood Still

.. This track order fits the best to the mood of Music album. That's how I usually listen to album digitally. None of these songs really works after To have not to hold / Little Star / Mer Girl

this is the order i place the songs on that playlist. Has To Be is closing the Japanese Ray of Light album and fits the most.

For many fans, the best tour: Confessions Tour. I always thought that Confessions on a Dance Floor was made with the future next tour in mind, so you can feel this "concept album" a little empty without connections between  the songs (you need to add songs like "I feel Love", "Disco Inferno", etc, etc, etc, to feel the continuity). Anyway here is a very basic concept album:

Thank you very much!!! 1 Thing i've noticed is, that sometimes the "snippeted" songs Where's The Party don't even fit in that way, so as a child (back in 2006) i just did a playlist using the "main" songs of each section. For the Confessions Tour i just used the 19 songs, she performed. As of now i never do this kind of playlists, cause the songs don't fit at all. The transition from Music to Erotica etc... It sounds like a Greatest hit compilation with more album songs added in, although it's a nice idea for a record label to release these kind of compilations. Britney (her label in Japan) did that in 2018: https://www.amazon.de/Glory-Asian-Tour-Britney-Spears/dp/B071JHNH4Y

Just did the same on Apple Music with Madame X and it does sound very fitting, unlike the previous tours. It's mainly because of the changed arrangements, that were very far from the original version (Human Nature in S&S).

    God Control

    Dark Ballet

    Human Nature (Album Version)

    Express (Celebration Version)

    --

    Vogue (IC Version)

    IDSIF

    Papa (Album Version)

    American Life (album Version)

    .. (no Batuka Prayer)

    Batuka

    Killers

    Crazy

    La Isla (Album Version)

    Medellin

    Extreme Occident

-- (Rescue Me doesnt fit here)

    Frozen (Album Version)

    Come Alive

    Future

    Crave (Tracy Young)

    Like A prayer (IC Version)

I Rise (Tracy Young sounds more fitting)

Are the 3 songs (Be Careful, Time Stood Still, Beautiful Stranger) all Ray of Light "leftovers" coming from the sessions with W. Orbit or were those songs written/recorded for the soundtracks/other albums. It does seem like Be Careful was recorded for Ray Of Light, but TSS & BS were recorded exclusively for Next Best Thing & Austin Powers.

I usually like to include all the songs into one album (Crazy For You, Gambler and Into The Groove are part of Virgin to me)

To me these songs rather fit on Music:

    11. Amercan Pie

    12. Beautiful Stranger

    13. Be Careful

    14. Time Stood Still

    or

    11. American Pie

    12. Time Stood Still

    13. Be Careful

    14. Beatiful Stranger

    Which tracklist would work best???

At an earlier stage, this was actually the RIT setlist:

    1. Vogue
    2. Swim
    3. Nobody Knows Me
    4. Express Yourself
    5. American Life (Headcleaner Mix)
    6. Burning Up
    7. Love Profusion (Headcleaner Mix)
    8. I'm So Stupid
    9. Hollywood (VMAs Mix)
    10. The Devil Wouldn't Recognise You (new song)
    11. Hanky Panky
    12. Dress You Up (in E flat)
    13. Take A Bow
    14. Bedtime Stories (Video Interlude)
    15. Like A Prayer
    16. Don't Tell Me (Promo Tour Version)
    17. Mother And Father (Promo Tour Version)
    18. Live To Tell
    19. Into The Groove (GAP Version) or Holiday
    20. Music
    21. Crazy For You (one step below)
    22. Die Another Day

According to Dago Gonzales, many other songs were considered for the video interlude before they settled with Bedtime Story. Since Nothing Really Matters apparently inspired the Nobody Knows Me choreo before it got dropped, it’s a strong possibility that it was one of the choices.

that's like a totally different show. Imagine Die Another Day as a closing number! I wonder if the Like a Prayer Tour was meant to be the original setlist, but missing the Dick Tracy section (Vogue was probably not even meant to be on the soundtrack...)

For the mdna, after human nature, there was falling free

later rehearsed after nobody knows me. it was also rehearsed as an interlude. The last section was added in april (addicted/sinner/lap).

for DYP-RIT, it's true..it was rehearsed after hanky panky. No D&D in march 2004. You can find the first half of the set in the audio section dedicated to the tour demos.

actually DYP was meant to be performed instead of MG and Stupid was also meant to be there instead of MG:

Like a virgin started to be in the setlist a month before the opening night..it was an idea of her pianist, if I remember correctly

and what was meant to be performed instead?, the acoustic version of Love Spent? By the way , do you guys have a list of the tour setlists with the originially rehearsed songs, that were replaced later on? I mean Impressive Instant instead of Prayer in S&S, Nobody Knows Me in RIT? Easy Ride instead Papa in Madame X. It would be amazing to have an overview!!! Stupid was meant to be performed instead of MG and Dress You Up was also rehearsed (although people assumed it was rehearsed instead of Deeper And Deeper, which is not true...)

This is why they are called "Concept Albums", to choose what works or doesn't work, and make changes to the songs to be coherent. They are a first idea/raft. And must be done with the original material available before to change anything. I love to see how a first "idea" changes to the final tour version (or studio versions).

i believe the tour director / artist also go by the lyrics (Hung Up and the choreography) and meaning of the songs that fit a particular section of the show.

No, the shows in Lisbon on Jan 12th and maybe the 14th were recorded, Papa Don't preach was only performed for the US shows, there's also rumors they filmed several dress rehearsals for different angles, and she reshot some songs in April

let's hope Papa is in the film.

we should be very thankful for having an officially filmed/directed concert movie. Lot's of artists don't even release one (Katy's Witness Tour was filmed/directed, but never released). It's very expensive to film/direct/stream/release a tour film. The record company's don't care for releasing this kind of material, since people film with their Iphones and uploading it on YouTube.

the production costs are exceeding the profit, she is doing it for her fanbase / artistic vision (since the tour was very exclusive)
