  1. This is part of the reason why I don't use streaming services. I have everything I need on my harddrive
  2. This album will always have a special place in my heart because it was the first Madonna album I heard in full since becoming a fan. I also remember buying the CD singles and loving the remixes when I was young too. Some incredible remixes this era!
  3. Lately I've been listening to this album a lot. I already really liked the album but listening to it lately has made me realize just how good it is, and the fact that (to me, at least) it doesn't get old. To be able to listen to it every day after 30 years and it still sounds amazing, just goes to show how timeless this album is. The production is definitely a sign of the 90s, but still sounds fantastic today. The percussion is sharp, the basslines are sensual and groovy, the strings and synths are beautifully layered on the tracks. I think a lot of why people don't give this album the credit it deserves is because of a lot of the spoken word sections here. I personally love it, but I think for others, especially at the time, it's not something people were used to. Not to mention, historically this album was condemned in her discography so a lot of people I think don't revisit it or give it its deserved credit. Among fans, there's no question about this album being underrated; I think it's one of her most beloved albums among fans. The problem is, we see this album for the amazing body of work it is, and how ahead of its time it is, but outside the fanbase, not many people do. I feel like if people actually knew what happened during this era, then she would get the credit for it today. Maybe the biopic will talk about it?
  4. Sorry I missed the part where it had to be an unheard cover... How about 1. Erotica 2. Justify My Love 3. Confide in Me (Kylie Minogue Cover) 4. Rescue Me 5. Devil Wouldn't Recognize You 6. Frozen 7. How High 8. Easy Ride
  5. 1. Erotica 2. Justify My Love 3. I Want You 4. Rescue Me 5. Devil Wouldn't Recognize You 6. Frozen 7. How High 8. Easy Ride I can dream...
  6. She has given us so many amazing photos this week. Once again she looks awesome!
  7. Wow, she looks amazing in that new post. Especially the first pic.
  8. I don't think this is an unpopular opinion but for me it is her worst record. That said, there are definitely some tracks I really enjoy on the album. I do enjoy revisiting it one in a while and enjoying some tracks on it. For example, Girl Gone Wild and I'm Addicted are some fun electro pop songs and very fun to dance to. Gang Bang and Some Girls aren't bad, I actually like coming back to them even though they're not the strongest on the album. Other than that, I do really enjoy Masterpiece, Falling Free and Beautiful Killer. The biggest disappoints for me were Give Me All Your Luvin', Superstar, B-Day Song and Turn Up the Radio. I did listen to them at the time, but I never listen to those songs anymore.
  9. The list doesn't surprise me tbh, even though I've never heard of a lot of those artists. Pop music is rap now; it's the most mainstream and gets the most listens.
  10. Me opening and reading this thread this morning
  11. Would be cool if it was true, but I'm not believing anything until we have actual proof, and not some random "insider" telling us.
  12. Not a fan of the fashion choice, but whatever. Not really any of my business what he's doing, he's a "celebrity by association" I guess; paparazzi should leave him alone.
  13. I have no idea what people are talking about, I think the remix is great! Her vocals sound so good and so much better than the vocal production on Madame X. We need this on the next album.
  14. More than anything, I want this. Also, I would love her to focus a lot of lyrics and songwriting. We all know she is capable of writing touching and meaningful lyrics. An album with some fun dance songs and deep meanings would be so great. Even more of a more laid-back approach, like deep house or something like that, would be a welcomed change in my opinion. As said by others, I think the album should be without features. Either that, or have two features maximum (no rappers lol). It has been a long time since we got a pure Madonna album. Not that there's anything wrong with collaborating with other artists, I just don't think M needs collabs to make a good album.
  15. I only ever used Spotify when I was playing music at the cafe I used to work at because the Sonos speaker only supported Spotify pairing lol. I only go to YT when I want to watch a music video and can't be bothered to get it from my external harddrive. Call me old fashioned, but I much prefer to rip the CDs I have, then put them on my phone so they're available to me whenever I want. Not to mention, Spotify doesn't have everything I want to listen to.
  16. I was so confused, I had no idea The Black Madonna changed her stage name.
  17. I am kind of skeptical that it's specifically for the movie soundtrack. I really hope it's a decent song; we don't need another Don't Call Me Angel.
  18. I'm here for it, if it's true. I'll wait for an official announcement though.
  19. This. I have one from Pioneer and it's great for exactly that kind of stuff. They're not expensive either.
  20. One of the best pop albums ever made. It has aged like fine wine - no matter when I've listened to it over the years, it seems to get better each time I hear it. I think this music is very therapeutic, both for Madonna recording/making it and the listener consuming it. The lyrics are also some of her best; she really tells a story and conveys so much emotion in these songs. Especially Little Star - such an endearing song, straight from her heart to Lola. I actually listened this this album a lot while in quarantine; it's such a great album to put on in the evening right before sunset and watch the sun go down.
