OMG those old connections, with your telephone number, so slow. They stopped everytime and you had to start the download all over again.

Like when you had to buy the concert tickets in person. I went to the National Bank to buy the BAT ones.

Those times you still had to find out the lyrics on your own. It was so hard fir me to understand some lines of Supernatural. No to mention Did you do it..

And it was not easy to find those leaked files, at least not for me.

    Seems like another world.

And every time a download would stop, it was anywhere between 95-98% complete. By the time you could get connected again you'd reach a bandwidth quota for the day. Infuriating. I remember calling a few people I knew on our ISP and asking if they'd mind not being on the internet for about 45 minutes while a 3.5mb RealAudio file attempted to download. Most of the time it would take days and countless attempts for one three minute song to successfully complete. MP3s were a different nightmare. Quality be damned, there wasn't time for that....

Yes. There's an spontaneity to them, but then I think any demo from any artist has those same qualities. In Madonnaa's case, her demos are sometimes better than the final versions. And let's not forget that Into the groove IS a demo that was ultimately released.

Which is great about demos is that they bring the possibility of contrast, so both versions can be appreciated differently. We are inclined, I don't know really why, to favour the demos. Maybe is it because we think they're more "real"? Or more "indie"?

IMO, Nothing really matters is melodically better as much as No subtitute for love. Be careful is great. I wouldn't be too sure about the other tracks. She seems uncertain of which  direction to take. It's jazzy sometimes.

Thanks a lot for sharing this.

Just having additional versions is a plus for me. I don’t think I could pick favorites between the versions. It’s too difficult for me.

Anyway, I really can't imagine anyone having an opinion of a small clip she performed that is barely audible.  Also, what was performed was sandwiched in between two songs.  What she did perform live may not even sound anything like the song.

Agreed. She’s not stupid. I could definitely see her changing the tempo and sound slightly to fit the rest of the performance and to leave a little to the imagination for release.

From the clip, I’m intrigued, but it’s hard to judge if I like something until I’ve heard the full song. I’ve loved clips and been underwhelmed when I’ve heard the full track. I’m looking at you, Love Spent.

  4. Warner Music for example is going to release a special edition from this record published 20 years ago and I would like to see on the future something like this with Madonna:

    00105110292504____1__600x600.jpg

    Is a box-set formed by:

    CD1: Original album

CD2: Live album from the tour

CD3: All demos from this era

    CD4: Instrumental album

    LP: Original album

Booklet special with photos from this era

Imagine this with "Ray of light" using audios from Drowned world tour

There are a number of other artists and Madonna albums that would be nicely showcased in box sets like that. I'm beginning to lose hope that we'll ever see anything like this.

  5. That was way too difficult. I had to go with Die Another Day. Still one of my favorite videos of hers and I remember hearing it on the radio constantly when it was out. Time Stood Still, Nobody Knows Me, Frozen, I'll Remember and Vogue are very close contenders for me as well.
