I've said this many times before but I will reiterate.

I am an avid tour box office/ticket sales watcher and there is nothing abnormal about how these newly announced shows are selling. How the original dates sold was what was abnormal.

The days of instant sell outs are long behind us unless the artist has achieved a certain pop culture dominance that not many get to and/or the tour itself has drawn a lot of media commotion. That only accounts for 1-2% of touring artists today. In recent memory, the only artists to sell out arena or stadium tours immediately are Harry Styles and Taylor Swift.

The sales rush Madonna experienced with the first dates came from the hype that was created around an artist of her stature doing a long awaited greatest hits tour. If this were just another album tour, we wouldn't have seen that happen. That was uncommon not just for her current standards, but the for the standards of most artists in today's world.

Concerts are getting more and more expensive and people are less and less willing to spend that money for what amounts to 2-3 hours of their lives. As such, ticket sales tend to go much slower and we only see full sell outs in the days or sometimes hours before the show actually begins. On the Rebel Heart Tour, Toronto and Nashville both had a ton of tickets available in the week before the show, but by the time she was on stage that arena was full.

Most people wait to buy either until they've saved money or until they know what they're going to get from a show. Only big fans get their tickets immediately, and as we saw, they did. This tour is not just catering to big fans, it's bringing in an audience she likely hasn't played for in years, and they move slower in buyng tickets just like the always have. The majority of artists won't have their venue sold out until the very day that the show is happening, and that is not some new phenomenon, it has been that way for well over a decade now. This show is months and months away, so no of course it isn't going to be sold out now. That's just now how it works anymore.

These shows will be just fine. LiveNation, the promoters, and the venue wouldn't have booked them if they felt they were in any danger of flopping. Once upon a time they'd take those chances, but not in a world now where touring is such a costly investment for all parties involved.

Adding a big fat “agreed on every count” to this post.

I was about to disagree, but with your last sentence i realized you meant UK only,

Yes! Sorry if I wasn’t clear - my mistake!

Re : Nashville - several dates looked like similar to this before Rebel Heart tour shows (Toronto 2 for example was half sold the week before the show, we were worried!). There are methods to fill arenas up in the UK and US - agencies specialise in selling cut price tickets and doing mass giveaways through local promoters and businesses. In the UK, Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Kylie Diana Ross, Steps off the top of my head have cleared THOUSANDS of unsold tickets the week before stadium and arena shows to fill them up.

I would also guess when the tour kicks off there will be a massive media campaign to highlight the setlist, advertise she’s back on tour with local markets re-hyping those 2024 US dates and possibly a return to Europe in summer 2024.

Okay now, let's not push it.

She has more demand now than some of her tours but she doesn't have more demand than her 2001 / 2012 period.

S&S alone had these dates in the UK alone:

    2008: August 23 - Cardiff - Wales - Millennium Stadium - 33,460 / 33,460 - $5,279,107

    September 11 - London England - Wembley Stadium - 73,349 / 73,349 - $11,796,540

    2009: July 4 / 5 - London England - The O2 Arena - 27,464 / 27,464 - $5,873,149

    July 7 - Manchester - Manchester Evening News Arena - 13,457 / 13,457 - $2,827,517

She did 8 dates at Wembley Arena in 2006, plus a stadium in Wales.

She did 2 dates in Manchester and 6 dates in England in 2004.

She did Hyde Park for MDNA and Birmingham, she did a stadium in Scotland, another one in Ireland.

This is UK and Ireland only.

For this tour she's doing...6 arena dates at the O2 and you still have tickets for the last 2 shows. She might have around 80k people for these 6 shows. To put this in perspective...that's a bit more than the 73k people she had at Wembley stadium in 2008.

These are great stats but they don’t tell the full story. Madonna hasn’t had instant sellouts like this *in the UK* since 2001.
(Have edited as I wasn’t clear I was talking UK only!)

    To help you out:

Cardiff S&S was under half capacity. Cardiff can house 70,000 for shows. 30,000 is still a huge number though.

Wembley S&S was supposed to have two dates; the first show sold slowly and certainly didn’t shift Celebration level tickets in such a period of time. Again - 74,000 people for at the time was the biggest gross in Wembley history was still an awesome achievement - no misery here!

The second date to be put on sale for Reinvention in Manchester was papered and discounted to fill it. Her second S&S Manchester show sold under 3000 tickets and was cancelled. MDNA Hyde Park had a capacity of 85,000 but only pulled 54,000. Still a great figure! But remember Boxscores are submitted by the promoters, the sales are verified but capacities are obviously not (fans invented the concept of “technical sellouts” years ago to try and explain this but that was pure fan fiction).

None of the other shows you list sold as many tickets in such a short space of time. That’s not to say they weren’t fantastic sales but they still had a lot of tickets available long after the onsales. Which is normal in the UK - rarely do we see the level of sales for any artist arena shows like we did Madonna. The most I can liken it too recently would be a comedian, Peter Kaye, who sold 20, 30 maybe more arenas out in a day.

Had she put 6 dates on in Birmingham and 6 in Manchester on top of the 4 in London they would have sold such was the initial panic demand; which then tailed off.

Anyway, hope this is useful context, the fact remains that Madonna hasn’t had this level of immediate sellout in the UK since 2001, and that is brilliant.

(And no one is trashing her previous successes! Just keeping it to fact for comparison purposes)

Yeah I saw that, I’ll post the official one they release today, this has been fantastic and anxious times to be a Mexican fan, she’s in the timeline of everyone young and older, the demand is very high, people are left without tickets, they actually go directly to the box office and get better ones, people signed up to forums for legacy codes and the fandom learns what a legacy status is, TikToks are made about them 🤣
I do think she could do more dates as she would have sold two stadiums (5 or 6 Palacio de los Deportes) it would be incredible if they were in another two viable cities because it would become “the Event”, but they have never cared about those two other markets, not sure why as income and population is comparable to other cities in Latam she has already visited.
I’m already nervous about getting tickets for the third date 🤣

You have been such a source of positivity throughout these last weeks, I truly hope you get tickets for the third date ❤️

I think 3 will be enough if she visits Monterrey and Guadalajara as well. There’s demand for at least 6 dates but well distributed around the country. Some insiders say that she will visit those cities (which I doubt but at the same time hope)

There’s clearly demand - fingers crossed there’s enough shows so people aren’t dissappointed.

There hasn’t been this demand for a madonna tour since Drowned World, it’s so great for her.

The second Mexican date is almost sold out, there’s a general sale (about 10% of tickets) going on tomorrow, I hope there’s a third date coming up for Sunday January 28th.

There’s a crudely made fan made photo made by some Madonna Instagram page floating around pretending to be the official announcement for the third date - however it IS being held. Surely there’s demand for 4, 5, 6 shows like London?

Agreed. There’s a small number of users ruining this thread for everyone else.

I don’t remember people in London or New York wrecking this thread back when those shows sold out in seconds and people ended up dissappointed.

Maybe people wanting to fight can go start a “Misery” thread and leave this thread for everyone else who’s excited about the tour, excited about the Mexico shows and wants to share that excitement?

We’re hopefully gonna have a third Mexican date to get excited about, maybe more shows in South America, more rehearsal footage will come out and this should be an exciting time.

I got my tickets they were cheap and really close to the main stage, there could be better options but that’s what the system offered me in the first place and that’s what I took. Didn’t want to risk it after so many anxiety.

Thanks @andifeelfor the tips to Mexican fans. See you in Vegas, are you going to Miami too?

The green line is where my seat is, payed a regular ticket. Not a vip one

I am so happy you got great tickets! You've been so excited and such a source of positivity these last weeks!

I know so many fans today who got cheap seats in the front blocks and were so happy, too - it seems theres a lot of really good seats without VIP Packages today.

Im not doing Miami sadly as much as I love it - im already doing 40 shows back & forward between the UK and the US/Canada three times and doing most of the European dates too - so I've had to draw a line somewhere! I'm also working with Madonna's team on some Madonna Fan Party events too so need to give myself some breaks for those too!

Legacy Pre sale is not working!
The page gives u only a a Vip packages with a High Prices !!!

Some of my friends said the same but it turns out they missed the UNLOCK box

at the top of the screen to put their code in.

It's working fine - still lots of tickets coming up In VIP Packages and standard tickets.  Some VERY good non package tickets coming up next to the main stage and end of catwalk seats are up for US $425 - non - package.

Make sure you put your code in before your first search and it unlocks all the presale tickets - if you look at the screenshots - click on the ticket you want, you will see the Venta A Fans box comes up, click "UNLOCK", paste in your code and then you can add the ticket to your basket.

I hope this helps and you get the tickets you want

it sounds like you're making fun of, share your code and for sure we wont miss out

Kindly dont be so rude. I forgive you, of course. I understand you are frustrated that you didnt or couldn't buy an Icon membership. But do think before you type.

I have Madonna friends in countries all over the world Im helping get their tickets. As nice as im sure you are, Im not going to help strangers on a forum buy their tickets when I have friends "in real life" who need help. Each code works for 4 tickets - I have 6 friends trying in Mexico so can't even help them all.

Maybe be a little kinder, a little less judgmental, and make some friends with Madonna fans too and you may find someone will want to help you with your tickets, too.

Having said that I’m in the pit in Las Vegas I hope she doesn’t take the stage at 3 in the morning. I’m to old for this standing for hours on end…

Remember we have the VIP pre party before we go in. The pits are so small that there’s no need to go in and cling to a piece of barrier. See you in Vegas btw!

Unfortunately half of the country has this credit card, unless they truly reserved a lot for tomorrow presale it will be almost impossible to get something. But will try

Honestly, the Icon Presale didnt move anywhere near as many tickets as other countries. I have faith for you. Im looking forward to coming here tomorrow and hearing good news from you and all the members here trying for tickets!

I also agree that this show is gonna be best experienced from the lower and upper tiere seats. While you may be closer to M on the floor, you may miss out on what she has planned for all the connected runways (I predict they will be screens) and the main projector behind the circular stage.

When Tony spoke about the show taking over the arena .. I was wondering if she’d have drones like Bieber used on his last tour. It was spectacular.

Right!? I'm so curious because of the asymmetrical seating sections, but also there is that extra bump on the side catwalk by section 3... I'm next to that bump for one of the shows I'm going to. I hope that's good!

I’m sure it will be awesome. Anywhere in that front section with all the action around you is gonna be fantastic!

  15. I think with the staging being so huge that a lower bowl seat is going to be good to see what's going on.

I regret to this date not doing a level 1 / bowl seat for Rebel Heart - am considering something level 1 / lower bowl but at the very rear of the arena to see the show centre on. I watched a lot of the Rebel Heart shows with Guy in the sound desk who always said  'this is where the show is designed to be seen from' - so after Vancouver & when we know whats what I may well do some side on / lower bowl nights - same as you, see what transpires!
