  2. Any changes or complete re-rrangements of setlist you would make for any of Madonna's tours? For example: MDNA Tour 1. Girl Gone Wild (including samples from "Material Girl" and "Give It 2 Me") 2. Revolver 3. Gang Bang 4. Papa Don't Preach / Sorry (with samples from "Die Another Day") 5. I Don't Give A 6. Best Friend / Heartbeat (Interlude) 7. I'm Addicted 8. Nothing Really Matters 9. Like a Prayer (with Kalakan) (includes samples from "House of God") 10. 3. My problem is not the production. The band on BA and GS were amazing and I totally wish she’d go back to that. My problem lies in the setlist. That’s all I was talking about since this thread focuses on setlists. I think Spanish Eyes and TDDUP should have been included in the setlist. Those are two of the best songs from LAP and their omission is bugging me. The Girlie Show had was way too short in terms of the set list. 17 songs? Really, M? That tour could have totally profitted from two or three more Erotica tracks (Words, Thief of Hearts & Bad Girl instead of In this Life) and Rescue Me along with maybe one ir two unexpected classics like True Blue (as originally planned) and maybe Who’s That Girl instead of I’m Going Bananas. Yes, I’m a could have/should have person. It’s how I am and I think you should simply repect that and deal with it.
  4. Mehhhh nope. I'm not the type of fan who blindly takes up everything she serves. DWT was the Music Tour and GS was....well...it was what it was. BAT cold have also been much better than it was, although it was iconic. I'm glad she's done more new material than classics in recent times. My biggest problem with BAT and GS is the lack of songs from the supporting album. It's not unexpected, it's just disappointing.
  5. Imagining that these two happened and followed each other: ACT I: The Whore of Babylon / Pestilence The Beast Within Vogue Hollywood* Material Girl / Dress You Up Deeper and Deeper Lament ACT II: War American Life* Human Nature What It Feels Like for a Girl I'm So Stupid* Love Profusion* ACT III: Famine X-Static Process* Intervention* Nothing Fails* Like a Prayer Oh Father Mother and Father* Papa Don't Preach ACT IV: Death Bedtime Story Nobody Knows Me* Easy Ride* Die Another Day* Crazy for You Music / Into the Groove
  6. Well, in Ray of Light's case it's simply a bit disappointing because it's her most widely acclaimed and arguably her best album to date. Yet, she's never done a good half of it on tour. Also, had she done the Ray of Light Tour, the music tour could have been WAY better cause it would have featured more classics and as a result of that, the American Life/Re-Invention Tour might have been less of a GH Tour. With Erotica she basically ignored most of the talking songs which is understandable cause performing those live is rather a challenge. Still, I think she could have at least include Thief of Hearts and Bad Girl.
  7. Which only featured very few songs from Ray of Light and mostly songs from Music. Drowned World/Substitute for Love Candy Perfume Girl Ray of Light Frozen Mer Girl (as part of a medley) Sky Fits Heaven (as part of a medley) ...these have been performed on tour, whereas... Skin Swim Shanti/Ashtangi Nothing Really Matters The Power of Good-Bye Little Star To Have and Not to Hold ... have never been done on tour EVER. That's more than 50% of Ray of Light (including two singles from it).
  8. Had the Ray of Light Tour happened... BOOGIE WOOGIE TOUR 2001 I. SPACE GIRL 1. Impressive Instant 2. Lucky Star (Club Mix - with elements from "Music" & "Everybody") 3. Ray of Light (Sasha Strip Down Mix) 4. Runaway Lover 5. Amazing II. MEMOIRS OF A GEISHA 6. Paradise (Not for Me) - Interlude 7. Vogue (Remix with Asian Vibe) 8. Frozen (Stereo MC Mix) 9. Open Your Heart (Remix with Asian Vibe) 10. Nobody's Perfect 11. Take a Bow (Asian Vibe Remix) III. COUNTRY GIRL 12. Material Girl (Wild West Mix) - Interlude 13. American Pie 14. What It Feels Like for a Girl 15. Express Yourself (Folkatronic Mix) 16. Don't Tell Me 17. True Blue OR Like a Virgin OR Cherish (Acoustic) 18. I Deserve It IV. LATIN PIMP 19. Lo Que Siente La Mujer (Calderone Quayle Dark Side Mix) - Interlude 20. Who's That Girl 21. La Isla Bonita 22. Holiday 23. Music
  9. MANTRA TOUR 1999 I. SUMMER - Hindu Punk 1. Shanti / Ashtangi 2. Beautiful Stranger 3. Skin 4. Candy Perfume Girl (with samples from "Whole Lotta Love", "Justify My Love" & "Erotica") 5. Human Nature II. AUTUMN - Latin 6. To Have and Not to Hold - Interlude 7. I Want You / Love Don't Live Here Anymore 8. You'll See 9. Evita Medley: DCFMA / DCFMA (Remix) / Buenos Aires / You Must Love Me 10. Take a Bow / DCFMA (Reprise) III. WINTER - Gothic 11. Has to Be - Interlude 12. Frozen (with samples from the Widescreen Mix) 13. The Power of Good-Bye 14. I'll Remember (William Orbit Remix) 15. Intro / Drowned World / Substitute for Love 16. Swim 17. Secret IV. SPRING - Space Geisha 18. Sanctuary - Interlude 19. Mer Girl (shortened) 20. Bedtime Story (Orbital Remix) 21. Sky Fits Heaven 22. Nothing Really Matters (with samples from "Vikram Cybercut Remix") V. ENCORE 23. Like a Prayer 24. Ray of Light (with Sitar Solo and samples from "Cyber-raga" and "DW/SFL" reprise)
  10. Many of the performances were rehashed and the song selection was rather predictable. Her costumes were also terrible.
  11. Drowned World / Substitute for Love Ray of Light Impressive Instant Skin (shortened) Candy Perfume Girl Beautiful Stranger Paradise (Not for Me) - Interlude Frozen Take a Bow Nothing Really Matters Sky Fits Heaven / Bedtime Story (Orbital Remix) Mer Girl (shortened) Runaway Lover - Interlude Human Nature Don't Tell Me I Deserve It (shortened) Amazing (shortened) Secret The Power of Good-Bye Evita Medley - Interlude Lo Que Siente La Mujer You'll See La Isla Bonita Holiday Music Swim would be performed instead of Frozen on the Re-Invention Tour. Nobody's Perfect and Gone would first have their premiere performances on the Tears of a Clown shows.
  12. I think: Like a Prayer Express Yourself Vogue Ray of Light Don't Tell Me American Life Hung Up are safe bets.
  13. More conventional choices: Everybody Lucky Star Into the Groove Crazy for You Live to Tell Papa Don't Preach Causing a Commotion Cherish Erotica Secret Take a Bow You'll See Frozen Ray of Light The Power of Good-Bye Beautiful Stranger American Pie Don't Tell Me Die Another Day American Life Hollywood Sorry 4 Minutes Give It 2 Me Obscure/less conventional choices: Physical Attraction Gambler Over and Over Angel Oh Father Rescue Me Rain Bad Girl I'll Remember Bedtime Story Swim Skin Nothing Really Matters Impressive Instant Nothing Fails Love Profusion Get Together
  14. I wish someone would make an acoustic version of The Power of Good-Bye using the guitar stem from the song.

  16. Are LDLHA, Take a Bow and Like a Prayer going to make the DVD? :( I was looking most forward to LDLHA and Take a Bow. I'm mad to see them cut.
  17. Personally, the only thing I would change would be removing that awful dance remix of Like a Prayer. Shep quite honestly ruined the amazing original and it#s a shame that it ended up being the version included on this collection. Live to Tell should have also been edited in order to make room for True Blue or maybe include Q-Sound Remixes of True Blue, Dress You Up, Who's That Girl and Causing a Commotion on the 4 singles they released for TIC.
  18. Oh yes! Same here! I was so surprised that she didn't pull out stuff from Ray of Light and American Life for the RHT considering it's such a self-reflective, political and retrospective album.
  19. She can fill seats based on her name alone. Most ppl that go to see her don't even know the setlist. She did this for good reviews. Her next tour will hopefully be less 80's heavy.
  20. I think BAT and RIT are more release-worthy. For me, the end of the world was her not touring Ray of Light/BS because right now it seems she may never do anything from those albums that she hasn't done on tour yet:The Power of Good-Bye, Nothing Really Matters, Skin, THANTH, Shanti, all of BS... I'm glad she pulled out a lot of AL on TOAC. An actual TOAC tour with proper production, etc and only album cuts or songs never done live would be a dream come true imo. I could care less about RHT.
  21. She sang mainly 80's hits on this tour. That is my point. I don't care if you disagree but her touring the whole world with mainly 80's songs or her staying in Vegas doing mostly 80's songs is the same. My point still stands.
  22. Some of you guys need to stop being so overly defensive. We all have a right to have expectations and we all allowed to express critique as long as it's constructive (which most of the critique here is). I think with such a huge catalogue of songs it's hard for Madonna to pick a 100% satisfying setlist. There are really only two ways to go. The dilemma situation of this tour was that the album simply didn't do as well and she was touring places she hasn't been to since the 90's. Still, she would never do less than half of the new record. She could have either done: - a tour with a maximum of hit singles and a lot of new material (Rebel Heart is a long ass album and unfortunately it didn't do that well, so she had to balance out the new stuff with songs everyone would know). - Ignore the places she was going to and focus on theatrics and the show's storyline (possibly less hits or heavily remixed to fit in well with the new stuff). She went for the GH alternative. Is that a reason to be mad? Yes. As I said before, she has a HUGE catalogue of songs, lots of well remembered singles, BUT in recent times she has been ignoring her post Erotica stuff. As an artist who had such a long and fruitful career full of career peaks in almost each decade she SHOULD keep her more current stuff remembered. Right now she is really starting to degrade herself to an 80's artist but she is SO MUCH more than that. Ray of Light was such an impactful and applauded record but she refuses to do songs from it on tour. Bedtime Stories too. American Life, while not as successful could have added so much more meaning to her show. I was missing the political statements. The intro was pointing towards a very meaningful show and ended up being nothing but a self-parody. Everybody for example, could have served as a great nostalgic point and be remixed to a bombastic encore. Finishing with her first single, the one that started it all. Instead she went for Holiday. Why? What does Holiday add to the meaning of the concert?
