For what we know so far, in almost total absence of concrete infos about the new material ... I'm ninety per cent sure she is going to sing "Live To Tell" and "What It Feels Like For a Girl" this time (her MeToo support makes me hypothesize it), with some fado rearrangements of old hits (hoping a little more inspired than that mexican Dress You Up one... I liked the Like a Virgin Instagram recording she posted back in 2017 for example). There are possibilities for something from Evita, some potentially political theme-related tracks, like "Papa don't Preach" (reinvented in some form: it's really an infinite time) or "American life" (hope not) and a cut from the neglected "Confessions on a Dancefloor" and "Ray of Light" (because it really needs to be back in her live catalogue after 10 f...cking years!!!) My personal hopes are for "Rain" (with a proper backing vocals rendition), "Secret", "The Power of Goodbye", "Love Profusion" and finally the "Living for Love" album version. My aware illusions are for even just a quote of the Andre Betts' Erotica tracks (especially Secret Garden or Where Life Begins... and I'm dead then), whose jazz afflatus could be recalled from the new fado-oriented material, and "Bedtime Story", if the new album will really have an electronic vibe as supposed after the Mirways collab news and the few secs we heard of "Beautiful Game".

First of all, I wanna specify this because my feelings are not gonna be popular, I'm gonna be honest. I'm a HUGE fan of her work with Niles Rogers, Patrick Leonard, Shep Pattibone and Andre Betts, William Orbit and Rick Nowels, Avicii (also Reggie Lucas's, Guy Sigsworth's and some Diplo's tracks are cool), BUT I'm not a fan of her works with Steven Bray (with a few exceptions like Express Yourself or True Blue), Stuart Price (except Get Together and Forbidden Love, he's genius in rearranging old stuff for live renditions though), Timbaland-Timberlake-Pharrell and Martin Solveig. Mirways stays in the middle of all this. I like his way to search and create new sounds, I like the kind of dark mood he's able to provide, but I very often find his melodies too linear and ripetitive (it's probably a kind of personal style, his mark). He can be fun but, with a few exceptions, his work always get to be felt as cold when it comes to emotions. So about her new album I'm litteraly thrilled of all the portuguese and post-slavery-afro inspiration (I really can't wait since I watched her Instagram posts with the Cabo Verde female choir and D'Santiago as after the early rumoured Ibeyi track), a little less about her collab with Mirways as a "disco king". Anyway these are my favourite works from their previous collabs, wich I hope is gonna be much longer very soon MUSIC (the first time I heard it was a real blast... and still is, especially live!!) IMPRESSIVE INSTANT (unique, energetic, crazy as hell, never tired) MOTHER AND FATHER (maybe their masterpiece imo) DIE ANOTHER DAY (fascinating, dark and meaningfull, the only electronic Bond theme) NOBODY'S PERFECT (a rare case of a motivated use of the autotune effect) LOVE PROFUSION (ADORE the "got you under my skin" thing, love the melody, but too repetitive) LET IT WIL BE PARADISE FUTURE LOVERS

"The record has been financed by an outside source and so the Kickstarter campaign is ending" ... so it's done, we're gonna hear this in the fall, it's a great news!!

If so, I'm starting to fear M will release the new album in the early months of 2019 ... wich would be a bore, honestly

Well, the only thing that I expect about the eventual tracklist is FINALLY some good Ray of Light track, at least two or three, since 2018 was its 20th birthday and, considered her best work, it's one of the less performed (except the title track of course)

I also think she won't repeat RH mistakes this time, if she says "soon" (and not just hashtagging it: "That I never Learned.............Coming Soon!" seems a proper announcement), I think we can also expect a late spring/early summer single and a late summer album release (wasn't Mirways's Music released at the end of september?) I have to say I'm not that excited at the possibility the album could be called Magic, I'd prefer Beautiful Game instead. Especially intended with bitter irony, as clear from the few lines heard at the Met Ball, I find it very fascinating. Said that: I'M MADLY HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
