  1. I just watch Her-story cos I blanked it years ago. I mean I just fast-forward Her-story.
  2. I would'nt be suprised if it was some unpromoted work by Gaultier. The trousers with straps is pretty similar to the one she did the catwalk for.
  3. In fact yeah, Was Austin Powers and The Next best Thing a year later. Beatiful Stranger was in 1999 and The Next Best Thing (Time stood still) was filmed in 1999 too.
  4. Beautiful Stranger was just after this
  5. I discovered much later that Prince played guitar in Like a Prayer. Not just on the solo part of the single but also on Keep it Together and more obvious Act of Contriction. That song is really Prince.
  6. I did hear that one too. https://forum.popjustice.com/threads/general-madonna-discussion.11104/page-1459
  7. I remember being in Asbury Park years ago, not far from Shep Pettibone's club Paradise. And someone telling me that Madonna's song ('Paradise') was a reference to the club and their relationship ending in no great terms. The whole thing never really add up to me. What stories you heard or you actually know as facts connected to Madonna songs that are not commonly known?
  8. As much as Ray of light was such a strong statement of an album when it came out and is a great solid listening. Being honest is WIlliam Orbit music that Madonna sung on top. I think Erotica it was and still more relevant on the writting of lyrics and music. She talks about so many subjects that were important to her and the lyrics are the most elaborated and personal she ever did. Her strongest albums are those with strong producers and collaborators (Stuart Price, Orbit, Mirwais) But the most part of the times they influence a lot of her work. When with Pettibone she had more control and input overall, I think.
  9. Music like Ray of Light is one of this lead singles that never did it for me. I don't dislike it (like I do with 4 minutes) But I always felt meh about it. I didn't mind much Don't tell me at the beginning and with the years it's becoming the strongest pop'iest song on the whole album, I think.
  10. You can read some of his interview here : http://www.madonnatribe.com/decade/2003/chris-cunningham-on-the-making-of-frozen/
  11. His original idea was having lots of aerial views. Drone like, above the desert. And lots of figures coming from everywhere and turning into shapes and hundreds of Madonnas. Rotating and dancing. When the camera/drone was panning between them the shapes transform and break into pieces, creating birds, dogs etc..You can tell the concept of the ideas are in the video but not the magnitude and direction of it. I think the day of today this would me much easier to do with the technology and current tools. But at the time it was a bigger budget that what they wanted to spend on it. So he felt like it was'nt as impressive and wanted to try something more simple. But because they already spend the money on the morphing of the dog etc..they pushed him to use those images. He even said that the most part of the CGI was'nt finished.
  12. In the "Work of Director :Chris Cunningham" you can read and hear how he was so excited about working on the project but he wasn't happy with what they shot. Warner was so controlling of his ideas. To the point that he edited what they proposed without caring. He said his experience was totally the opposite doing Björk's ' All is full of love'
  13. She's been always targetting and reaching the latin countries. Every album always features something with a latin vibe about it. This album has been conceived in Lisbon and with influences from Portugal, Africa and Latin America. The US has a huge market based around latin music. I mean just check the superbowl this year.
  14. I never care for Ray of Light, the other 4 are top in my favourite forever. But I think I link Vogue to more memories.
  15. I wouldn't mind if she explore the electronic side with some scandi production/collaboration : Ionnalee, The Knife, Röyksopp , Annie, Robyn, Likke Li
  16. I mean they didn't do anything. I was invited to the VIP section/dinner that did'nt sold out at the end. So they had lots of stock around. I do think they should have send copies to the ones that cancelled. In fact 3 of the books we had is to send to friends that went to Lisbon from Madrid and had the gig cancelled.
  17. They were moving people around in the theatre
  18. Sorry that was a response to someone saying : 'as if' few comments ago
