  1. They're probably using the songs she didn't write...so she can't do anything about it.
  2. Agree. Very "Sexyback" by JT. The Ballroom vibe is the last part with the thumping bass, cause it's very vogue-y and danceable I guess.
  3. Well again it depends on which point of view you want to have. If you want to see which Madonna song performs best, you have to merge. If you want to see which Madonna release fares better, you keep the numbers separated.
  4. ? Album cuts, singles, compilations, special edits... Thera are so many different iterations of the same song. Release-driven data don't give the same results as overall catalog performance. So yes, numbers have to be merged.
  5. That's because the whole musical feels like an extended DCFMA video 😂 And MTV Weekend of Madonna is so mid-90s!!! I really like this movie because it's sort of a miracle. It spent 2 decades in development hell, could have been an Oliver Stone movie, or Ken Russell, or Coppola... And of course, Liza Minelli, Meryl Streep and Michelle Pfeiffer would have pulled wonderful Evitas, that we'd still love today. This role is so iconic. (My theory is that Evita is fascinating because of her uncanniness.) M was so lucky to finally do the part, this vehicle was bound to earn her recognition and awards, knowing her work ethic and commitment. I remember French newspaper Libération wrote that the movie was about the "good bad taste" of Madonna. Spot on.
  6. No it's a photoshop montage of Bizarrap and Madonna in the Hung Up on Tokischa video
  7. The whole thing is VERY meta since the show is about a young popstar wanting to be on top and the song is by a popstar on top and features an "older" postar wanting to be back on top. And it is called "Popular", as in "pop".
  8. It's exactly their strategy. The collab with The Weeknd is buying her a looooooooooot of streams simply because he's the most streamed artist right now, so her profile and songs are going to bump into a looooooooooot of users' streams. Same with Sam Smith and Christine and The Queens. And maybe a couple of surprises (Max Martin ???) Since her own profile has a looooooooooot of stamina (never forget that point : it can work because she's the fucking supermegapopstar Madonna with hits and back catalog and fanbase and blabla) and the tour is coming and it seems there is more Madonna cued into the series (remember Kate Bush last year with Stranger Things), she could hit home run and climb to #1 artist for some time (a week at least?) if planets align. Top 10 would be nice...
  9. The full scene featuring LAP is here : https://twitter.com/AndrewXMDNA/status/1665544958181355520 Don't think that I can post the video rip here.
  10. It's not out yet. What is unborn can't be dead.
  11. "Tu me calientas la chichi"
  12. The more I listen to it, the more brilliant I think it is. Very catchy empowerment anthem and ballroom extravaganza. They're directly calling out haters and all the -phobes you can imagine. It's bold and vulgar as it should be.
  13. It's so frustrating. On French Deezer, I always get Friday recommendations the week after.
  14. You know what, I'm happy 😃 with all the new music 🪩 coming out though it's ironic at the same time 🤨 because it reminds me of last year when this forum was full of people whining 🤡 about her doing nothing except remixes yet we knew she was cooking some things 👅 and instead of hoping for the better they were all 😡 blablabla 💤 but then I'm happy again 😁 because I wasn't mad back then at the remixes anyway and I'm happier 🥰 because I'm amazed by the timing they pulled : 3️⃣ collabs coming within a week to launch the new Celebration era 💃🏽  Make your amends and celebrate 👯‍♂️

  15. Reminds me of "I Can't Feel My Face" too. Very summery, chill vibe.
  16. One million streams in 24 hours is a lot yes !
  17. This market is sooooo niche. Vinyl might not stay as popular as it is today but record companies will always try to sell you material things (CD, vinyl) because they make more money out of it. There's also a whole economy system with second hand shops and websites, not counting the cultural impact of collections and etc. There ain't such a thing for digital files save for illegal sharing sites, since NFT failed (hurray).
  18. I guess M songs are cued in the Idol series. Since he is also the show's music supervisor, that's probably what he meant.
  19. They absolutely don't care if it leaks, it's a very viral thing I guess and the Mother Madonna vibe is soooooooooooo 2023.
  20. "Fan" has so many meanings that of course hardcore collectors as much as avid readers and listeners count. To me being a fan is a matter of personal investment with the artist's work. So many ways of living and feeling it. As for stealing, as a someone who works in the music industry, of course I know it's a big part of what's this is about. No money, no nothing. Streaming is hardly a solution in the end for so many artists. (M is too rich to be an example about that.) Art can't be reduced to its financial or business value though. Fans are being managed like marketing targets and we get used to it...
  21. Sorry you thought I didn't agree. I do. "Say our fucking names" is a stand in the gender identity>pronoun>deadname issue. Maybe in 10 years, we will use the adjective "vulgar" to talk about gender identity matters just like discrimination issues are called "woke" nowadays after Erykah Badu sang "I stay woke" in her song Master Teacher (in "New Amerykah Part One (4th World War)", 2008). It's a song about keeping aware of injustice. Anyway, I always come back to the fact that some languages don't have gendered pronouns. This doesn't keep people who speak these languages from being misogynists or, the way round, more tolerant with gender affirmation. So, to me, pronoun wars are just bullshit. In the end, someone will always think that being "free", "sexy" and "yourself" is "vulgar". So let's just sing and dance and be happy about it.
