I was just looking at the list of the best selling recording artists of all time on Wikipedia and have just noticed that Rihanna is REALLY CLOSE behind Madonna now. Considering how Rihanna has a much better chance at getting more hits in the coming years than Madonna, is Madonna's record as most successful female recording artist of all time about to be broken by Rihanna? ?

The tours were stunning. MDNA tour was spectacular, RHT was Madonna at her most playful and funny. I think her laziness and lack of creativity on MDNA and her ridiculous selfies and Instagram posts kind of killed her career. Younger people are not interested in her music cause she turned herself into a joke. No one really gets excited about a Madonna album anymore apart from the fans because the expectations are low. Rebel heart was a big step in the right direction lyrically and artistically. Hopefully Madame X will be a return to form.

The difference being she wrote most of her songs, but on MDNA, she wrote like half of them. Masterpiece, Falling free, Love spent, I'm a sinner, Turn up the radio... they were all written before they got to Madonna, she just changed a word or two to be credited. She had entirely different approaches with the other albums. Like, Mirwais didn't even speak good English back in the day so we can safely assume she wrote 100% of the lyrics for AL.

She didn't write most of those songs herself. MDNA was LAZY

MDNA was shite

I want to see her succeed and I want to see the public recognise what an artist she is. I get the feeling most people nowadays think "oh yeah she was good back in the day but she's lost it now. She looks desperate". Anyway I think it's unlikely that she will have another hit now, unless it's a duet with a popular artist like 4 minutes

No, they are busy making repackagings, anniversary editions and protecting their legacy

As long as she plays a mix of big hits for the casual, hidden gems for the hardcore fans and new material, I'm happy

Is it so difficult to leave the album as it is and just add outtakes? What's the point in leaving Angels with dirty faces and Love attack rotting in the vaults? Also just get any cover from Google... that is just uninspired.
