So remixing was important to her right from the start, although at first she didn't always like other people changing her songs, she came to embrace it, even bootleg mixes (Stardust for DWT and Dens54 for RHT).

Let's also not forget that You Can Dance was a remix album which was, at one point, the best selling remix album ever until Michael Jackson broke that record. Really wished it had included something new of La Isla Bonita though since the artwork played so much with the Spanish theme and there was nothing of that on the record.

It's a record scratch sound effect. It really adds something to the mix doesn't it? Love it as well. A slightly different record scratch effect is used on Now I'm Following You Part II.

At the end of the day, if you don't like what the assigned producer delivered from the sessions, your problem essentially lies with Madonna's choice of whom she selected as a conduit for her artist expression. An artist has a goal in mind when selecting a producer and Madonna is no different. She succeeded in crafting the record she envisioned with those she handpicked for the job.

What tf they mean she's not well versed in r&b 😮 they even know her album discography and her close ties with the genre? FFS, her longest #1 was Take A Bow, off an album that was r&b focused.

I've always loved Bloodhounds of Broadway. The film was the director's labour of love and he fought so hard to make it whilst fighting with AIDS. He went off his medication just so he could finish the film and he died before it was released, and was buried on his 35th birthday. I had the honour of interviewing the film's composer and Brookner's nephew as well to learn more about the making of Bloodhounds. I watched it many times growing up and it really holds a special place in my heart. You can really see the love that went into it. The cast and crew really rallied around Howard to help him make this.

Way too much reverb on her voice. They've drowned out all the resonance and cadence from her voice by doing this. WTF mixed the vocals?!
