  1. It's REALLY good. I wouldn't say the same about Hotspot, their previous album. it's great they're still around and putting out consistently good stuff since 1986.
  2. I also think that she lets a lot of time pass between each album release, during which time, new artists rise to stardom and threaten her status and relevance in the music industry (only Sade can allow herself to put out albums every ten years). Look at Swift, Beyoncé and Lana Del Rey: they release albums almost every year, whereas Madame X came out in 2019! Sometimes I think that making abums bores her, but she is compelled to continue for the sake of relevance, it's just my impression
  3. I'd say the "Music" album / Drown World Tour. Then she had a peak with COAD but mostly outside de US. I define "relevance" in terms of being copied, emulated and setting trends, not in terms of sales. Then, I think, she herself reverted to copy, emulate and follow trends. This doesn't mean what she did after Music wasn't good, it was and still is, but somehow she locked herself in a pretentious artistry and took herself too seriously, which is pretty close to being a bore.
  4. I remember when I attended The Girlie Show. We had to wait an hour for the show to start. I was 17 and the arena was really, really far from my house and I remember it was extremely difficult to find a transportation that late at night. We were thousands in the same situation. After 3 hours, 4 AM, I could finally get a very expensive cab. But I didn't care, I was so full of excitement, we all were. Of course at that age you couldn't care less. I attended many concerts and neither starts on time.
  5. Courtney Love is absolutely irrelevant in the music scene. Name at least 3 hits from her. She's a total zero, and she knows it. As an actress she's better than Madonna though.
  6. I don't think "Madonna" should make number 1. It should be True blue, followed by Like a virgin, and Erotica respectively. I've always hated Like a prayer's, it's hideous IMO
  7. I totally agree. Even though I deemed it a bore when it first came out, in retrospect I think it was the last time she sounded fun and natural. From then on she lost that quality in her voice.
  8. Wow, I like it. I love her bouffant hair (a wig perhaps). Overdressed again but I love it. It's great she's still making magazine covers. LOL her cheek "bones" are the size of her tits. Never heard of this mag before, it's exquisite
  9. I love Rescue me, one of my faves, but it's mostly spoken. And when she sings the chorus, she tries TOO HARD to sound like Aretha Franklin. I mean, it's good, but forced and not so authentic. Anyway I love Rescue me and hope one day it will earn the praise it deserves (her best lyric IMO)
  10. OMG, thank God she isn't Dion. She is as bizarre as she is tacky. BTW, why doesn't anyone talk about her late REVERED husband having sex with her when she was 13??
  11. She screams in that performance, which I love anyway, but screaming is not singing
  12. I don't think so. You have to have a musical ear, which you are born with. And I don't think performing is very important
  13. Bob Dylan sings horribly and he was there. When he sings he sounds as if his testicles were being pressed. Lou Reed was a terrible singer too, and what about the New Order singer? However, Madonna is always attacked for her singing. True, she doesn't have a wide vocal range, but neither do have it Minogue or Spears, whose voices are irritating, mediocre and unbearable to listen to to me; what's more, what they lack is expressiveness and emotion, which Madonna has in spades. Or at least had, prior to her ruining singing lessons, which took away all the fun in her voice. "More" (From Dick Tracy) is a perfect showcase for her singing talent. It's a very difficult song to sing.
  14. I hope she won't collab with ANYONE. I hate collabs. Artists must have their own sound, style and voice. Collabs make them sound all alike
  15. I've always found it odd why Madonna never liked to be interviewed by gay men. It's either straight guys or women.
  16. She hasn't had a neck for years now, so this comes in handy
  17. I'm zero sentimental, so don't twist my comments so freely. If you think there's feelings in my comments is just because YOU let YOUR own feeling interfere into something that wasn't meant that way, I was talking about facts, and how those facts developed so far. I'm criticising Warner, NOT Madonna. So why the hell can I not criticise Warner, may I ask? Why is everybody defending Warner? I don't get it. What has been released so far is NOT what we expected, but it looks you are happy with the outcome of the godforsaken "deal" because YOU let your feeling for Madonna meddle in your comments. I don't. . The releases ARE few and far between, and Record Store Day stuff AND Madame X Live DO NOT count. Neither do count (for me at least), digital stuff. Why? Because you CAN'T keep that, I mean, she REMOVED many of the remixes out of the blue from the platforms. If you are going to make a spanning-career plan, I think it should last in time, in a long SPAN. I think Madonna doesn't care about it, and this is actually a FEELING, a perception. She's always into the next thing. I wonder if she's overseeing this project,,,
  18. I remember I read a very short press statement from Warner a looooong time ago, announcing a big event that never came to pass. If that short, flimsy text was the deal itself, well, then I've read it. But If there's another deal whose content I don't know of, 3-plus pages long, don't expect me to read that.
  19. Who said I don't understand the deal? I just don't like the way it's developed so far, it's disappointing, messy, confusing and lazy. Very little has been achieved in almost 3 years. And I won't change my mind, so I'd rather stop this amicable debate right here, it's pointless. I wouldn't like to hurt other people's feelings. I respect everybody's opinion.
