It's just interesting because I totally forgot this year was the 35th Anniversary of the album.  My bet this is simply related to the Deadpool and Wolverine film.  Other wise I don't think they would have paid much attention to the 35th Anniversary being they already did so with the 30th. I'm curious when Ryan and Shawn met with Madonna to know how long back this could have been planned.  Will other merchandise pop up?  I suspect if such did, it probably would have happened with this t-shirt.  So this may be all that is.  Still, more than what most artists do, related to a film release that one's song is used but not on the soundtrack.

Two concerts from BA was officially released on Laserdisc. 
Maybe if they dig deep enough, they can find the masters and remaster them for the deluxe editions. This time on DVD or Blu-Ray, of course  

LAP and the BA tour are often cited as her most imperial era and yet we’ve had fuck all to celebrate them - no official full BA tour release - music videos never proper remastered and according to bray some wonderful unreleased songs ( first is a kiss ) not to mention some beautiful ritts photo shoots 😥🥰

I think the idea of a small bottle of perfume is wonderful, and a nice nod to the original edition. I'd buy it instantly.
Cause when they releae the real reissues, I don't think they'll  scent in the vinyls...

My old cassette I bought in 1990 still vaguely smells like it.

Oh, please, no patchouli essence. The first time I bought the vinyl, I didn't know about the patchouli essence, and I went crazy for days trying to figure out where that smell was coming from until I discovered it was the vinyl. I thought it had been stored in a perfumery (I discovered the truth years later thanks to the internet).

My Lap from 1989 which I bought in a second hand record store in almost mint condition still smells like it. And it sounds vastly better than the 2012/16 re-releases on top of that. 

This just got me thinking that LAP could have been one of the most creative and impressive box sets out of all her albums. The religious imagery, logo, and patchouli scent could have opened so many doors for graphic designers and the marketing team. 
 
Yet we have a single silver vinyl.

Its ok to admit when a re issue is not a re issue, a colour change is technically a re issue but that's not an expectation gap, its just commerce as you say and not a genuine re issue. Actually remastering and adding song context etc is not that hard, l don't think her team ran out of ideas l just don't think Madonna understands many of her fans very well (specifically the non gay. non dance market), too many around her happy with really shit merch and things that reflect very material things tied to ego and image (candles and rosaries) rather than the substance of her work and musical legacy.... will Madonna will ever have the confidence in that to not have the focus on how she looks...we will get all these photo shoots recreating old looks but zero on the artistic process or memories on recording etc.

That's just semantics, not what they alluded to releasing years ago. It is just business as usual copying existing trends for some money and its frustrating watching her squander her history by not maintaining fan bases and engagement, that should be a team effort (multiple teams for different demographics) with constant digital output and multiple small releases a year with nothing to do with Madonna. They could easily do pre order to gauge demand on box set type items

I would just love to be a fly on the wall in these decision meetings. 
"Ok it's the 35th anniversary of one of Madonna's BIGGEST albums. What should we do for the reissue?"
"Keep the album the same but make the vinyl silver."
"Is- is that all we're gonna do?"
"Add a poster."
"BINGO"   
 

I don’t mind if the reissues are shelved just give us something else.  A new album! It’s been five years for gods sake. Three years since the deal and two years since her last compilation. The sporadic nature of digital singles, the decline in effort there and the random one off 12 inches with such little appeal. For the greatest female artist of all time. It seems like a real missed opportunity is all when it seems there was a real effort to boost her streaming numbers , presumably to bolster a new album. 
The reissues would have been a great thing to tide over her baron creative period. Let her have a rest with no pressure. 
We’re just so in the dark I suppose. My bet is we’re not getting anything til the biopic has boosted her international presence now so these will be 2026 at least.

Why would any sane person put any time, effort or money into a proper reissue campaign when you have these colored vinyls with the same artwork, the same master, the same everything over and over again. And evidently enough people buy this shit. 
The re-issues are not happening any time soon nor ever. My two cents. If the rumors are true, she will be directing the biopic next year and then spend 1-2 years editing and promoting it. As if the reissues would take priority. Next new release will most likely be The Celebration Tour either as a streaming movie or vinyl/spotify release. Judging from previous tours, this will also take at least one year from now. So that could be her next project after the summer vacation. 
All the collectors who are actively gaslighting and deflecting those who are waiting for these alleged reissues, be happy. They are not coming. 
I have already given up any hope last year, so I personally am neither shocked nor pissed. To quote Trump, “it is what it is”. 

Yea, it's a little sad isn't it - oh well. It's M's decision at the end of the day.

Madonna40 didn't happen. We didn't even get a pillow. Just Madonna dancing to Lucky Star on Instagram. 
InsideTheGroove said that Madonna was working  on the reissues last month, so that's why nothing has showed up yet, and that's why I don't think Virgin40 or BedtimeStory30 will happen. I think they'll drop them when they think the time is right. Not when fans demand them.
