Most of today's pop artists will burn out faster than she ever did. Even if she's not ahead of the pop industry as she was a decade ago, she was for way longer than any other peer. Britney got a nice boost with Glory but she's about had it. Rihanna is a club girl, and dance music can keep anyone youthful, so she might stick around. Arianna is another Mariah. She's got some good music, and her voice is phenomenal but I still don't see her staying ahead of the game forever.

Maybe it was backwards to you, but it is undeniably a catchy fun song that employed Sondcloud's Sophie in its development. Sure, Diplo is the big name there, but even that is powerful, given Diplo is mainstream while still being underground. The video was explosively colorful and showed a very energetic Madonna still wanting to be on the Dancefloor. Rebel Heart was a bounce back. Had it have followed Confessions or Hard Candy, the respect for her in mainstream pop would still be there. I love MDNA but it's clear it is the album that contributed little to her career.

Good God! She looks amazing! Her touring years are long from over. Perhaps these sounds are what are to be expected, the heavy bass and hip-hop sounds. I say hip-hop but I'm sure someone else can more accurately say what it is.

I always felt like it was a message. To remind people. I'm Madonna, I can swim in my clothes and pour drinks in my shoes and nothing about that should make you gasp. It's trendy but a lot since Hard Candy has been trendy, so no surprise there. I suspect the next album to have some trendy songs, that's how they hold up well in their year.

I could probably come up with them all day long but my first Trinity would be Dress You Up, Burning Up, and Hung Up! Three of my favorites!

Well I mean, whenever she does a movie, an album is never far behind. WE came out really close to MDNA. It's possible depending on how long it takes for the movie.

I don't care for the actual original version, I always pick the Benassi remix. So if it's the Benassi remix then I choose Celebration. If it's the original then I'll pick Broken.

??? Why would you do this! I cannot vote on this one. Both are very nostalgic for me in different ways. 4 Minutes was the first song of hers that I'd heard since Music (I was probably 13 when 4 Minutes came out) and was actively aware of just having coming out. Give Me All Your Luvin' was like mine and my best friends go-to anthem in our Sophomore year. Both are great, though some or many may disagree.

Excellent read! I knew that Rebel Heart carried that Soundcloud feel, which the site itself is full of great DJs and producers. She's a smart woman who just kind of gets lost in the massive spills of the music industry. Every decade has had a signature sound until recently with the sound changing every year. Madonna was ahead of that game too.

I remember reading that Get Together wasn't initially thought of as a single until they saw how well it was selling digitally. Maybe that would explain no proper music video. It wasn't planned. Nothing Fails should have gotten one aswell. Might've made it more memorable as a single.

I could see two lists developing. One of underrated songs by the general public (mainly singles that didn't go far but were amazing), and then a list of songs underrated (despised even) by fans. Superstar, B*tch I'm Madonna, Body Shop, Candy Shop, Spanish Lessons, Mother and Father, One More Chance, Hey You, American Pie, and Revolver. These are all songs I love or atleast feel like are bashed despite being pretty ok. As far as songs that went over the publication heads I'd immediately put Bedtime Story, Nothing Really Matters, all American Life singles, Miles Away, and Ghosttown.

gafuller got a reaction from NowRadiate in What year did you become a Madonna fan?
When I was young, I grew up listening to the Immaculate Collection with my mother in the car (I'm 20 but my mother was an older mother now one year younger than Madonna herself) so I always knew Vogue and Like A Virgin. I also vaguely remember my mom having Music as a child. But I missed American Life and Confessions completely as my mother had cancer around that time and didn't keep up with much music wise. Thanks to Youtube though (I was about 11) I witnessed 4 Minutes' music video. However I didn't buy music at the times really so I just listened on Youtube. I remember watching Sticky and Sweet on Youtube but that was the extent. The Super Bowl put me back in the groove with MDNA, with Give Me All Your Luvin' beocming mine and a friends song of the year. I still didn't become a super fan, only buying a ferw songs here and there. Rebel Heart's Living for Love performance at the Grammy's popped up in my Youtube feed a week or so after and I was caught up again. Later in September I'd write my second college paper based on the song Rebel Heart and soon I was buying up everything on iTunes. And here I am. Waiting. For Madonna to justify my love once again.

But it would chain her down. And she has fans around the world not just Vegas. She would be effectively closing them out, which doesn't seem like Madonna at all.

Candy Shop all the way. One of my guilty pleasures and I mean, come on, if Madonna invites you into her Candy Shop then you better take it! I'm sure you'll find a girl made of candy wearing perfume somewhere in there, jk.
