I agree with you for the most part. She could release standalone singles like Celebration and that would help her name always stay somewhere on the charts and by watching the reactions she can judge whether to promote it further or just release the next one. However I think a Madonna lead single will always be bigger when it's promising an album. Medellin or Living for love wouldn't have been as successful I think had they been released as standalone singles. But maybe if she lets her mind free and just decides to have fun, she will release better singles and more fun ones that are not adjusted to the production and the concept of a record and don't have to carry the burden of promoting a whole body of work.
Also judging from Katy Perry, I'm not entirely sure that what she did last year with one off singles really helped her explode. Looked like a hit or miss to me, with Harleys in Hawaii, Small Talk being the miss and Never Really Over being the biggest hit, still not as big as album singles of hers. Plus Katy makes expensive looking, killer videos always.
And by the time Madame X was released, so many promotional singles were out, plus all three singles and that didn't really help Madonna. So even though no one had the album still few bothered to make the songs chart.
And as for the clubs, well she should be gaining younger fans who love to dance there not just the old ones. I love to dance in clubs so as long as the remixes help me listen to her, I'd like many of them.
So I'd suggest both. Standalone singles with an irrelevant to them album coming every 3-4 years, like so many artists do nowadays. Sorry for the long text, just bored ?

Ray of light is not for every hour. You can't play Little Star or Mer Girl and do your chores or exercise or whatever. But you can drive alone at night and get lost in the music. Or have a headache from a long day when you can't take no more and they will soothe you. Some tracks can seem boring when you are all energised but when you want to talk with yourself you don't need screaming vocals and heavy beats. By the way, To Have And Not To Hold along with Skin are two of the best songs about longing I've even heard. Which is what disappointed me about Crave, that never gives you such chills as those songs. Hope you find the perfect time to enjoy that half of ROL. And Confessions might have been a regular disco album in the 70's. If it were that regular in the 00's, there'd have been like seven other big ones around that time. Where are they?

Don't listen to your fans too much if you make choices to please us, it means you're artistically dead, you know what you can do and what you want to do : keep on working on music you will be proud of, listen to your instinct and have fun in the process.

It's this one for me. From her dress (it was a great color for her), her thigh-high boots, and her 'oversized' bunny ears plucked right off the Louis Vuitton fall 2009 runway. Stunning!

I'd personally like her to leave her dark sound behind. Madame X is a serious, dark album, also Rebel Heart had a cold sound, with Kanye also pushing the production to that direction, at least for the first bunch of tracks. I'd like an easy to the ear record now, summery one and Europe friendly. With tracks like Ciao Bella, Miles Away, even I'm a sinner. So if she were to follow some older path, I'd very much like a modern True Blue. Her bringing light into dark places should be with a light album. Medellin was kinda going to that direction but the production didn't let the song explode, there was no vocal climax either.

I don't think it's an overrated album. Judging from the music only, it's bop after bop after bop. Of course not every song is perfect, her bridges can get too repetitive ( I can make it alone, I heard it all before, so slowly so slowly) but in the sense of a dance record I don't think it gets better than that. Just like you, I didn't get to experience the era and I first listened to it six years after it came out but it does things to my body that very few albums can. Even when the sound is cold, her voice makes it thaw out and makes you feel things. You want to fall in love, make a fool of yourself for one night and it won't matter, get laid, dump someone, make life changing decisions. Maybe those things don't interest you in the way she projects them so maybe this album isn't for you.
If you ask me, her most overrated album is either Like A Virgin or Like A Prayer. Like a Virgin sold way too much for such a weak album in my opinion and Like A Prayer is absolutely gorgeous, but calling it her absolute best might be an exaggeration. Just music wise of course and just my opinion. Her balls were heavier when she released certain albums and that makes them the iconic pieces they are, overrated or not.

No problem. It's not like we're gonna be singing it together anyway, so each to their own. We can talk lyrics again anytime if I care about the song

Yes, you did explain why some people would read the incorrect lyric on the website.  Thanks for that.  But, do not try and make me believe that the lyrics are actually "Baby Jesus on the stairs", because it simply is not the correct lyric.  I never said anything about a Twitter chat nor a link, that was another poster.

Sweetie I have no problem with it being understands. But you said you couldn't understand why some fans think it's 'on the stairs' and I explained to you that it's the most reasonable thing to believe so as it's the official lyrics. I didn't say she explained on the stairs, I said I did. My explanation was that she was praying to Baby Jesus while climbing down the stairs to leave the house because she had forgotten to, before. It makes absolute sense to me in the context of the song, because it's literally about a single mom running all the time for her kids and for her job and so many other things. Anyway, I'm still waiting for your link to the Twitter chat you mentioned where she gave the correct lyrics

Looking back on the album, it's not so bad after all. There are a few misses on this album, but some gems on the album as well. Beautiful Killer is my most played song from the album, Girl Gone Wild is a fun single and a great opening to the tour, Some Girls and I'm Addicted are two fun dance tracks. Then there's Masterpiece and Falling Free - two great ballads on the album. Love Spent and I'm a Sinner are also decent deep cuts on here.
Not to mention that the MDNA Tour was finally the chance I got to see her live! It was incredible.

I kinda wish she'd do a low-key album full of ballads. I'm so over the EDM/trap/experimental sound that so many artists have been doing in the past 10 years and I'd love to see Madge go for a laid back music style with substance.

I don't know about the style but thematically when Madame X was released and she talked about global migrations and roots in Portugal i thought she had never approached that part of her history. Her italian grand-parents (Sylvio Ciccone parents) were first generation migrants in the USA, they were very young when they migrated. They had a very difficult life in Pittsburg, all their kids were alcoholics besides Sylvio/Tony (with all thse alcoholics in his family and among his own chidren it's weird his dream was to have a winery), Tony was the only one who managed to study (thanks to the military...that's also how he met Madonna Fortin through her brother who was based with Sylvio in Texas). The Ciccones were really depressed. On her mother side it's totally different, the Fortin family is one of the oldest family that migrated to north America from France. Julien Fortin left France in 1650 and was an adventurer. The Fortins use the term "Fortintude" to describe the adventurous spirit of the family, even Madonna's maternal family used it.
And even though she kind of covered some themes on "Like a Prayer" it seems she only scratched the surfaced. I wish she would reconnected with the teenager Madonna in Michigan, what drove her, her life, what she liked and disliked, there's a great song to be written about her teenage bedroom IMO and her dreams, struggles.
And i was amazed she talked about this in one of her quarantine video, how she kept thinking about her father and his family, that she never thought about it before. So maybe....
In fact it could be an autobiographical album. Instead of impersonating all these Madame X characters (badly) she could go back to every Madonna at mny important stages of her life to tell us how she really felt then.

Blue Prince got a reaction from Voguerista in If you could give Madonna some advice today....
Many of the above actually. I'd tell her to make music her first professional priority again. If she's gonna say she's sleep deprived, at least let it be about her kids and her music. And the staff can get the kids ready and take them to school but no one can write her music. I'd tell her to make soundtrack songs that'll keep her relevant. Also to make records always thinking about the singles wisely. Or let others choose them for her. But most importantly, I'd like to tell her that the great records are inside her. She doesn't need an army of writers or producers or inspirations all over the globe.
Bonus: To make appearances women will want to imitate. She can be peculiar and mysterious like Tilda Swinton, she can be classy like Cate Blanchett, she can have abs again and show them off like Jennifer Lopez but please not a Pirate of the Carribbean meets Dita Von Teese at work.
