  1. You know what I mean, though, don't you? Did you hear that song all over the radio? We're talking about a HIT.
  2. But that atrocious single and every other single that followed it? Not so much.
  3. You mean in the sense that she used to have hit singles? No. She'll still place highly on dance charts and the like, but I don't believe she'll ever have another HUGE, worldwide hit.
  4. I could probably create a list of 20 from just the last 3 albums alone, so I'd rather not depress myself.
  5. At approximately 4pm on the afternoon of February 16th 1998, my life changed dramatically. I had stayed home sick that day from school and I had been watching a few hours of Kurt Loder-led Madonna programming on MTV as the network was counting down to the world premiere of her new music video for "Frozen." I remember Kurt standing in front of several panels of concept art and storyboards for the video and in spite of the fact that I only had minimal knowledge of this woman's work, I could tell that this was going to be something incredibly special. And oh, was it ever! When the video finally aired I was completely bewitched by the dark, undulating Mojave Desert Witch I saw before me. I had never seen or heard anything like it before and to say that my 14-year-old mind was blown is the understatement for the ages. I became a hardcore, true blue, forever-fan in approximately 5 minutes and 23 seconds and I've never looked back. It's been 21 years and I'm still in awe of director Chris Cunningham's desolate vision. Every frame is a piece of art and it still manages to reveal something new to me every time I see it.
  6. Remember the days of 5 legit music videos per album? Sigh. <3
  7. I'm guessing this is just a playlist? Whatever it is, parts of it won't play in the States.
  8. My very first Madonna tour back when I was a wee lad of 17! I saw the August 19th show in Atlanta and she performed "You'll See"! I was ecstatic!
  9. I think the “Girl Gone Wild” video would have been fantastic had it been for a stronger song on the album. “Some Girls” should’ve been a single.
  10. 01. Frozen (02. Has to Be) 02. Mer Girl 03. Drowned World / Substitute for Love 04. Sky Fits Heaven 05. The Power of Good-Bye 06. To Have and Not to Hold 07. Ray of Light 08. Nothing Really Matters 09. Swim 10. Candy Perfume Girl 11. Skin 12. Little Star 13. Shanti / Ashtangi
  11. 1. Because she's complicated, frustrating, and difficult to like. I even struggle with this and I'm a hardcore fan. 2. Because she's 60, a woman, and still in the game so people are going to hate on her for "not being as big as she USED TO BE."
  12. “I’ll Remember.” It’s also my favorite song by her ever. It’s just perfect and has always been there for me .
  13. Yeah, the "upside down" version is the only cover for me.
  14. “Crazy for You.” One of her very best songs, in my opinion.
  15. She looks fine. There’s some unnecessary cruelty coming from some of you.
  16. SHE'S 60 YEARS OLD, PEOPLE. She has a GREAT body for her age!
  17. I think she should have trusted Orbit to produce the whole thing. "Some Girls," "Falling Free," "Love Spent," "I'm a Sinner," and "Masterpiece" are the best songs on the album. Stuff like "Girl Gone Wild," "Superstar," and "Turn Up the Radio" are some of the most banal, boring, middle-of-the-road songs she's ever been a part of.
  18. Yes, it was sent out with the MDNA Skin newsletter. We talked about it briefly in the new album thread.
  19. PSA for the confused/misinformed: Accusations of racism are only applicable when the subject of which is a person of color.
  20. So can Madonna like... NOT be asked to give celebrity eulogies anymore? It’s getting creepy at this point. Oh, and she’s TERRIBLE at it.
  21. There’s a video of her on Instagram running into Nicki backstage and she looks... very accessorized lol.
  22. SAME. The most gorgeous man she was ever involved with.
