nihondidi reacted to sonicboy in Montreal, Canada - OPENING NIGHT!!!
I was there for the opening night and had a fantastic time and really enjoyed the show! Madonna was in a great mood, and genuinely seemed to be having more fun on stage than she has in any tour I've seen since The Girlie Show. Looking forward to seeing it again in Toronto next month!
I think some fans who have a tendency to be overly critical/negative (especially before even experiencing the show) are really doing themselves a disservice. Her shows are meant to be entertainment. Check your rose-colored memories of tours past at the door, arrive with an open heart, an open mind and a willingness to be entertained and you'll have yourself a blast singing and dancing for two hours. Otherwise, save yourself the $400 and give yourself the gift of one less thing to complain about.

I'd feel so weird touching Madonna tbh like she doesn't want these peasant hands on her creamy smooth pop icon goddess body

Really! Maybe it was and emergency, she does have four kids after all. How about thank you M for attending my show and showing support. How about not jumping to conclusions and getting off your high horse, Oh yea im sure she's just devastated that she didn't get a chance to take a selfie with your nobody dumb ass. Just another example of someone trashing and useing her name to get famous. -

Remember at the grammys : the Givenchy shoulder pad broke. Here the Armani cape is strong... That would have been better if that had been the opposite. Armani should use velcro for performance costume !

I'm glad to see quite a few pieces written from this perspective. I remember going to see Grace Jones live. She was 60 at the time, wore a thong, a basque and was hola-hooping wearing a cat's mask - totally bonkers, of course, but also completely at ease with herself and comfortable in her own skin. Later that same year I saw Tina Tuner, few months shy of 70. Tina was rocking super short skirts, high heels, being sexually suggestive and seemed to be having a ball. I myself turned 30 that year and I was totally inspired by both of them and felt empowered in a way - who cares what people say? Where is the rule book that says you should or shouldn't do/wear/say certain things at this or that age? Who cares if Renée Zellweger, Ume Thurman - or whichever female celebrity is getting the wrong end of the stick these days ( (and let's face it, it's women who are constantly being judged and criticised for their appearance) - has had work done, bought a new face or looks differently to what we think they should look. Who cares? Why is this news? How does that impact on anyone's daily life? I think it's safe to assume Madonna will be in her 80s, still flashing her ass and, well, still being Madonna, and I for one will be front row applauding her. It's one thing not to like someone's work, be it acting, singing, whatever (nobody's forcing you to see Thurman's new movie or spend money on a Tina Tuner ticket) but to try and put someone in a narrow box of one's own insecurities, preconceptions and social conditioning is simply ignorant. The last thing we need is having more people telling women what to wear and how to act. Fuck that - where's my hoola-hoop? Now I'm gonna blast "Express Yourself" and dance around like a total fanny in my kitchen just cause I feel like it, cause I'm a strong independent woman myself and cause don't care if that's an undignified thing to do. Come on girls!

The bullshit this guy utters and his arrogant way of displaying his lack of intelligence makes me want to shove the minotaur horns up his self-indulgent smart-ass.

nihondidi reacted to stfan97 in Rebel Heart - Album Thread [Happy 1st Birthday!]
I prefer all of the final album tracks to the demos. The production is incredible, sounds fresh and not like she's chasing trends, and gives everything energy and cohesiveness that would have been lacking had some of the "heart" songs stayed more dance/pop. They all still retain glorious pop melodies, but now the "heart" songs don't sound lacking in energy or jarringly odd next to the "rebel" songs.
I also like them mixed together because listening to just "rebel" or "heart" songs as individual batches would become boring. This album to me is a masterpiece with something for everyone, and I can listen to it all the way through without skipping anything, which is rare. Ok, I can't stand the baby in Autotune Baby, but that's super deluxe so I can ignore it. I'm still not a fan of the S.E.X. lyrics, but sonically it's catchy and as long as I ignore WHAT she's saying, I can groove along like Lukesavant said.
