  1. I'm sorry but I'm not going to take seriously the words of a person who boasts of defending women. But seconds later he calls two women like Christina Aguilera and Shakira rancid (oh coincidence! they are both Latinas) and also makes fun of the size of men's penises. It's like someone defends black people against discrimination and seconds later makes fun of Asian people and their oriental features. That is called inconsistency and with that type of people it is preferable not to argue or interact.
  2. Don't feel bad for not knowing friend. I also made a similar mistake due to ignorance when I posted the image of a person who apparently made a gesture of displeasure during Madonna's speech at the 2023 Grammys. It turns out that this person was Nile Rodgers, the music producer of the album Like a Virgin whose name I had in my memory but who, until that day, had never seen an image of him. And I had to apologize for the mistake like every humble person. Humility that apparently lacks the know-it-all gentlemen who tend to make fun of those who do not know or are unaware of apparently obvious facts about Madonna's life. These know-it-all gentlemen probably even know who is in charge of cleaning Madonna's house or who her driver is, but there are many fans like you and me who don't know many things, such as who writes her songs, either because we are fans of Madonna since recent years or because we don't have the free time to investigate all that. So don't be afraid to ask and give a heart to those who clarify your doubt or correct the error in a good way. Those know-it-alls who make fun of you by saying "How do people not know this" or "How Strange" or like the person whose post is before mine better not take them seriously and ignore them.
  3. Do you really think that the reason for the success of Madonna's songs is due to her simple lyrics? I rather think that it is the rhythm much more than the lyrics. How do we explain Madonna's great success in places where people do not speak or know the English language and have no idea what she says in her songs? For me, the key to the success of Madonna's songs was the rhythm of her songs and the right sounds and instrumentalization for the final product. She could have sung her greatest hits in Italian, Hebrew or some language of her own creation and these songs would have been equally successful. But to be honest, I don't know if she would have been successful in the United States if her songs had been in another language or if she were from another non-English speaking country. I think that in this specific country, they are more "nationalistic" in that aspect and prefer music whose lyrics they can understand.
  4. I did not know that. Generally, I have never been interested in finding out who is behind Madonna's albums or any other artist. I have never been interested in knowing who the musicians are, the backup singers, the one who does the mixing, the writers, etc. Simply knowing who the producer is was more than enough for me. That's why I didn't know that Madonna was also the writer of her own songs. However, I still think that she should better hire a qualified composer and improve in that aspect. Of course, if she wants it. It's just my opinion as a fan.
  5. Troll me? ha ha. No, not at all dear. I was simply highlighting a defect that not only Madonna but many artists have in not caring too much or not being creative enough when writing the lyrics of their songs and limiting themselves to simplicity and generalism. That is why I highlighted Shakira as the only artist I know, surely there are others too, who certainly excels in that aspect reaching almost poetic levels. Where life begins. "Sometimes when I come home from a hard day at work I swear it's all I can think about!" Incredible "It's time to get your hands up It's time to get your body grovin' It's time to get your hands up It's time to get your body grovin'" Hearbeat "See my booty get down like (uh) See my booty get down like (c'mon, uh) See my booty get down like (lower, uh) See my booty get down like (little lower baby, uh)" I'm not criticizing Madonna but only those who write the lyrics to her songs.
  6. American Life must be the album with the worst lyrics in Madonna's entire catalog. And with this I don't mean that the other albums stand out in that aspect because unfortunately there are few Madonna songs where the lyrics have really surprised me. If at least in this aspect she were like Shakira, a Latin artist, whose lyrics of her songs have always caught my attention due to their quality. And I use Shakira as an example because no other artist comes to mind no matter how much I think about it. While Shakira: "I run out of plot and methodology, every time your anatomy appears in front of me..." Madonna: "This guy was meant for me, And I was meant for him, This guy was dreamt for me, And I was dreamt for him ..." Madonna should definitely hire better songwriters in the future. You can't pay someone to write... that.
  7. The rap part of this presentation still doesn't convince me. It would have been much better without it in my opinion. The final part, however, is the most emotional of the entire tour in terms of the feeling she puts into singing. It's a shame that because of rap this is not one of my favorite parts of the tour.
  8. I like that! I like that! Personally, I would feel more comfortable watching a show similar to the SuperBowl, yes, definitely. Let's also remember that if the rumors are true, Madonna will give this concert on a beach and many people, including many children, will be present. It is because of them that certain scenes such as the orgy in Justify My Love, the masturbation in Erotica or the kiss in Hung Up would have to be omitted definitively and in the name of prudence. Among adults, we can tolerate seeing the most extreme scenes at a concert, even more so in times where it seems that sex is the raw material of everything. But when there are children present we cannot be so irresponsible and that is why modifying the content with them in mind should be the most advisable and appropriate thing to do.
  9. But will she have enough life to spend so much money? Sometimes I start to think about how much of a millionaire a person can be and how they always want to increase their fortune more and more even though they already have enough to live the rest of their lives. Anyway. It made me want to meditate on that matter when I saw so many astronomical amounts of money directed only towards one person.
  10. As I see that many users have changed their name or avatar, I decided to do the same and put the photo of Christina Aguilera in one of her most extreme looks. How can you not love this woman: she has a beautiful and incomparable voice, a unique and out-of-this-world beauty or that special personality that has made her enjoy the dislike of so many people who would like to be like her, etc.

Those who agree with me will receive a beautiful heart. And those who want to mock or criticize her can do so too. Fortunately, I am a very tolerant person, compared to others, and I will not be offended or delete your comments, much less call you "negative bitches." Don't put me in the same category as the narrow-minded. I don't belong there.

Yeah Madonna and Christina are my favorite pop queens.  It's not to say I love everything they do.  Like recently with M and the wheelchair incident and I wish Christina would put a little more effort into music.  But still big fans of both.

I did not understand what you said @Nahash . I don't know if it was a compliment or a criticism. It doesn't matter. Either way I'll give you a heart

I totally agree with you @Blue Skies Being fans does not turn us into willless beings who will always praise what their artist does. We can also criticize them and that does not mean we should be classified by some extremists as "trolls." For example, I don't like to see Madonna spit when she sings Open Your Heart. Spitting seems unpleasant and vulgar to me whoever does it and we can say it without shame. Because fanaticism is not the same as submission. And many seem not to realize this.

  11. Speculation is inevitable and understandable given the lack of information and not only in music but in politics, sports, etc. If you make a little mental effort you will remember that the same thing happened just recently with The Celebration Tour. And it will also happen with her new album, her movie, etc. If you think that speculating is stupid and useless, it would be best for you to take a short break and not enter the forum for a couple of years. Sorry! I meant a couple of weeks and probably by then there should already be an official confirmation of this event and the speculation that makes you so uncomfortable will already be over.
  12. oops, I made a mistake. What I really wanted to write was "no unprotected sex". Although for many people this seems to have stopped being a danger looking at the latest statistics. They seem to forget that diseases and infections are constantly evolving and are very confident in the future protection of antiretrovirals. It is always good to remember the tragedies of the past and how timely the moving performance of Live to Tell is for this, especially now that HIV cases seem to increase significantly in the world.
  13. With Kylie Minogue's surprise appearance on the Celebration Tour my opinion about the guests on this tour has changed drastically. Now I think that when these guests are some B-class celebrity that no one knows or who were very famous at the time but now almost no one remembers them, singers of questionable singing talent or some eccentric characters like Santa Claus or Terry Joe The Vogue segment is perfect for them because their participation will be more of a show type. But when these guests are singers of indisputable talent, I think that their presence cannot be wasted by limiting them to sitting next to Madonna watching her dancers pass by, showing their asses. On the contrary, it is much more memorable, for fans of both artists, seeing them sing alongside Madonna and the acoustic Express Yourself should be the perfect moment for it.
  14. "Gorgeous" is the word we use to describe a person of extraordinary beauty but I feel that this word is not enough to describe how almost supernatural Madonna looks in these photographs. How much sophistication, how much class, how much excess of security. It's a personality I haven't seen in any other artist. If there was an academy or school that taught me to be just like her, I would be the first to enroll. As for physical appearance, like her, I try to take care of my diet, not eat junk food full of cholesterol, avoid stress and drama, no alcohol, no sex, no drugs. While millions of people have God as a role model in their lives, I prefer Madonna. At least I am sure that my inspiration to follow is real and not a fantasy.
  15. Exactly. In my case, I don't care if it is confirmed by the president of Brazil, the head of the most dangerous favelas in Rio or the Pope himself. The only word that has value for me is Madonna's and until she confirms anything I cannot be reckless by reserving hotel rooms or publishing imaginary setlists that will never happen. In the end I prefer to be on the side of the prudent and realistic than on the side of the deluded and dreamers. We will see in the end who was right.
  16. The most moving thing is that they say it with such confidence. I am referring to those who insist on the idea and have even made hotel reservations. At this point and seeing the latest events, that is, the confirmation of nothing, it is better to bury once and for all that small possibility of seeing her singing in Brazil. What a pity for my friend @Anapausis who had already reserved a room in a modest hotel in the area but everything ended up being a troll and one of the biggest because thousands of people, surely including many "trolls" from Internet forums, easily fell into the deception and where the only beneficiary will be the tourism sector of that Brazilian city. We will have to be more cautious and not get carried away by gossip in the future, a great lesson and perhaps the only good thing about all this.
  17. I see that many are excited about the idea of Jonas Akerlund directing the filming of the Celebration Tour. Not for me. Although he started off on the right foot by making the videos for Ray of Light and Music (totally innovative for the time), then his work declined with totally forgettable videos like Ghosttown, Junp, God Control to name a few. Especially the Confessions Tour. It seemed like a tour processed with the Instagram filters that are currently so fashionable: everything so artificial, so synthetic, so sweetened. I did not find in this DVD all the magic and emotion that I could find in the videos recorded by the fans themselves. In conclusion, I would like the director to be someone who comes with new and fresh ideas and not someone like JOnas who seems to have become stagnant in terms of creativity. The Music video recorded by a fan in Tokyo. It only lasts a minute but I can feel all the adrenaline and emotion in the atmosphere and also follow Madonna's choreography step by step without interruptions or unnecessary camera movements, something that was abundant in the official version.
  18. It's the same thing I'm wondering. When you decide to actively participate in a forum you know that you are going to find opinions both similar to and totally different from yours. That is why it seems so absurd to me when someone decides to put you on the ignorance list simply for having a different opinion than them. Tolerance is a value that we must always try to reinforce and even more so with the openness and visibility of numerous social minorities or realities that were previously invisible or considered a topic that is not talked about. That is why seeing a person who, in the middle of 2024, seems to have stayed in 1920 and who is offended by stupid things, such as criticizing the junk food full of cholesterol that he likes to devour so eagerly, is ample evidence of what kind of person we are talking.
  19. Oh, my God! How much cholesterol! Can you seriously eat all that? In my case I try to take care of my diet and not put anything in my mouth. That's why my diet is based on Madonna's healthy diet and, like her, we avoid fried foods, flours and fats at all costs, giving preference to vegetables, fruits and fish. And to quench thirst, no soft drinks or artificial fruit juices, but rather fresh water or coconut water. Not to offend those who like to eat those types of foods that are so overloaded with fat, but we should imitate Madonna even when it comes to food. Even in that she is the best in everything.
  20. I think this was the perfect moment for these two women to finally meet after so many years of waiting: they both had to share in common the fact of having overcome tragic episodes that put their lives at risk and being able to live to tell. Perhaps that is why destiny, or God for those who believe in that thing, wanted this expected meeting to happen only now and not before because everything had to be symbolic and perfect. First Britney, now Kylie. All that remains is the meeting with Christina Aguilera and I will finally be able to die in peace.
  21. Hopefully this will be confirmed in the next few hours so I can feel happy that my Brazilian brothers are the only South Americans to see her live after years. And happier for my friend @Anapausis because it would be a dream come true for him. I just hope that he can have enough money to buy the ticket because I remember that the prices to see Madonna at the Olympia and Tears of a Clown were not very cheap to say the least. And who knows, maybe he'll come face to face with Oxana, the obsessed fan who follows Madonna around the world. I can't imagine what would happen if those two met, but remembering that they have several characteristics in common, such as being quite impertinent and overly dramatic, maybe in the end they will become good friends. Something that wouldn't surprise me by the way.
  22. Are you talking seriously? Doesn't "the princess of pop" or "Madonna's successor" sound familiar to you? They were nicknames that Britney had for a long time from the press since her appearance on the music scene. And if memory serves, I think she was also loved and accepted by Madonna's fans because I don't remember her being attacked in any forum or social network for being insistently compared to Madonna. Now do you understand the special expectation to see them together again on this tour?
  23. Seeing the latest events, it is most likely that instead of Britney it will be a Drag Queen dressed as Britney Spears. Frankly, I have already lost the great expectations I had in relation to this part of the show. I remember that at the beginning, carried away by emotion, I also gave several famous names such as Ophra, Eminem, Christina Aguilera, Marylin Manson, etc. But I think Madonna has decided to invite only Drag Queens and I think the idea is not such a bad one. It will serve as a kind of recognition to this community that to this day does not find total acceptance and that makes me feel good at the end of the day too.
  24. Why is it so difficult now to find download links for Madonna's first 4 albums and I only find the "reissue" or remastered versions?

I don't have a very good opinion about the remastering. And not only in the case of Madonna but also in other artists such as Britney Spears, Petshop Boys, etc. I much prefer to listen to the original versions but now it is difficult for me to be able to download them when before it was easier to find.

    1. Prayer

      Prayer

Sadly it just the way it goes. The remasters usually become the new main ones and the originals are left behind. Which is a pity.

The 2001 Madonna remasters became the standard editions for those three first albums, and mastering is very different from the originals.

"True Blue" is even worse cause with the 35th digital edition it got an even louder worse mastering and every digital edition of the album was updated with that one.

I'm not against remasters per se, but always keeping the originals, especially on streaming. I don't like the rewriting history part of that when the just upload the new files and delete the originals.

As fas as I know, only Qobuz now has the first 4 albums in their original form/mastering:

  25. I think we all agree on the bad energy that is perceived from this person's words towards Madonna, criticizing her diva attitude in the past, when that is most common in Hollywood, and now criticizing her for continuing in music despite her age. I have read a couple of comments defending Rupaul, as if they were his defense lawyers, and trying to blame the press or us fans for being intolerant of anyone who criticizes Madonna. Nothing further from reality. Those people would do better to ask themselves why they are the only ones with a different opinion when the unanimous opinion, at least in this place, is that Rupaul is intentionally speaking badly about Madonna in order to sell more books. Even a child would realize this.
