You're right. That was the explanation why the U.S. didn't get single releases.  I get that concept, but I really do think BS and ITG definitely would have been top 5 on their own if not #1.  In fact, I'm sure ITG would have been #1 for her.

Well all be damn!  After all these years, I never really paid that close attention to that TV to notice that.  Thanks for sharing this.  And yeah, this would definitely be considered an "Easter Egg" as I mentioned before, "Easter Eggs" are not easily spotted.  But I wonder since she's singing the 'Vogue' phrase at that time, it may be way too obvious for an "Easter Egg" moment?

Totally agree. I wasn't much of a fan of Candy Shop until I heard this live version.  Since then, I have been able to go back to appreciate Sticky and Sweet's live version too.

Give Me All Your Luvin' was the right choice for the Superbowl launch. Honestly the whole thing helped MDNA be as successful as it was. And what a feat at 30 years into her career to have a #1 album and a top #10 single. Girl Gone Wild is iconic regardless and helped keep the album around for the tour.

GMAYL was tailored made for the Superbowl.  I know some fans take issue with that song, but it really is a relatable snappy fitting song for the Superbowl.  I can't see her really performing anything else from MDNA other than the other singles which most fans dislike anyway.  GGW seemed a bit too much for a SUPERBOWL.
I personally think she gave just the right amount of herself and music in that performance. Vogue, Music and LAP are all iconic songs from her, so other than throwing in Holiday, I think the show was fine as it is.  I don't think the general public would have liked that messy mash up you posted.  And that whole Gaga inclusion would have been a desperate attention for trying to cause more controversy between the two artists.  There is no way Madonna would want to take such an iconic moment like the Superbowl and put that on display.  Evenmore, the concept includes songs that haven't even been written or released.  LOL to including "Bitch I'm Madonna" when the song wasn't even written yet.  Also, I'd think a lot of fans would have taken issue if she shorten the songs anymore to squeeze in more songs.  Let's keep in mind the Superbowl was far more about appealing to the general public than hardcore fans who think they know what's best for Madonna.  The general public just wanted to see her perform some of her iconic hits.  I think most of the public would sorta expect if an artist had a new album coming out at the time, they would be plugging that as well. 

Ahh yes!  I had forgotten that there were some vinyl editions with both singles that included "Ring My Bell".  Thank you!

Never happened! She played three dates for the HC promo tour. I saw all three, and I promise to you, "Ring My Bell" was no where to be on the set list.

The truth is that after reading some comments it seems so funny to me to see how difficult it is for some people to understand these new concepts that they end up getting defensive, calling the people who do find this type of things entertaining as childish. Is it because Taylor Swift has made them fashionable? Anyway.
An Easter Egg that I remember, not exactly in a music video, was when Madonna created a music playlist on Spotify to secretly reveal the name of her beautiful and wonderful album Madame X. I don't know if there were many, few or none who managed to decipher the hidden message at that moment but it was a very intelligent and fun way for Madonna to play the mystery with her fans.

Remember when she foreshadowed the rise of Gaga by releasing She's Not Me a whole year before she arrived?

I think some are confusing "paying homage" to things or people when "Easter Eggs" in the entertainment industry are actually images, messages,, or special features hidden in software, a video game, a film, or another, usually electronic medium. It isn't something Taylor Swift invented. Other musical artists long before her have been known to hide "easter eggs" in their videos/music.  It's been going on for decades.  Many seem to really pin pont the start of it in films with the cult classic The ROCKY HORROR SHOW.  However, it started even before that. The term used in this manner was coined around 1979 by Steve Wright, the then-Director of Software Development in the Atari Consumer Division, to describe a hidden message in the Atari video game Adventure, in reference to an Easter egg hunt.  Some claim it goes even back further to 1973 with the video game Moonlander, where the player may encounter a McDonald's restaurant, if played in a particular flight mode.  All in all, Easter Eggs are an actual fun aspect for film, game and/or music buffs. I'm sure many probably could go back even further in cinema and in music and find hidden messages or imagery that directors or artists have slyly added in for their amusement.
 

A fun poll of two obscure songs where one has been very controversial among fans since Madonna has embraced it as almost a "classic" among her catalog.  Of the two songs, which do you prefer?  Even if you dislike both, which one do you prefer over the other?
