Blue Prince reacted to confessed in Madonna songs you avoid
I try not to associate Madonna's song with bad things although she's the soundtrack of my life, too.
I don't want to wear out Bedtime Stories, ROL and COADF. Every time I listen to them I go back to the time I first discovered those albums

Reminder, this topic is not about the songs we don't like. It's for the powerful ones.

Blue Prince reacted to Aiwa08 in Madonna songs you avoid
I'm only avoid songs associated with very bad things. For example, I couldn't play "Love Profusion" (and the "American Life" album by extension) during years because my ex-boyfriend left me when the single was premiered. Now I can listen "Love Profusion" but the song still remembers me the pain.
Yes, Madonna is the soundtrack of my life, so I have many songs associated with bad things in my life.

I avoid Miles Away cuz it has in indirect relashion with my ex boyfriend. It's been a while since we have broken up, but I still can't listen to it - and I wouldn't be surprised if I never could

Blue Prince reacted to Hydrangeas Up Your Ass in What M song made you a FAN?
When i say i am a lifelong fan, i'm not kidding. I grew up in a household with 4 older sisters who listened to Madonna all the time. I was born in 1990, so growing up my early childhood was infused with songs like Vogue, Like A Prayer, Express Yourself and Deeper & Deeper. One of my earliest memories is 4 or 5 year old me and all my sisters throwing impromptu dance parties in our living room with the "You Can Dance" and "Like A Prayer" LP on full spin. My mother, an proper orthodox Christian woman, absolutely hated Madonna and that was what made Madonna even more fun for us. Fast forward to 15 year old me seeing the Hung Up video for the first time. Hung Up and Confessions cemented her as my all time favorite artist. That is when i started listening to her on my own. That is when i decided i would stan f o r e v e r.

Blue Prince reacted to Voguerista in What Madonna Remix Are You Playing Right Now?
Good idea! I was playing Ray of Light mixes and performances yesterday. I'm also currently loving Turn Up The Radio. I've also been playing Hey You atleast twice a day. It (as well as so many songs, remixes, videos, and performances from Madonna's catalog)gives me comfort and strength during hard times and times of uncertainty.

And yet I've seen the Oprah performance being used to mock her, compared to other vocal divas such as Whitney, on youtube videos. Some people just gotta hate her.

It's such a nice video, we should appreciate it more, given she spent time in between tour dates to give it to us. She looks so gorgeous when she smiles without a care. I'm happy I was a teenager and got to fully appreciate it back then. After that my music tastes and life probably got a little gloomier Thanks for the reminder Rista!

It's funny how so many of Madonna's songs might not hit me when they are/were first released and even for a long time afterwards. Then later, they totally hit me. One of those songs for me is "Turn Up The Radio". Today, I'm totally into this song, the lyrics, and the video. Just what I need today after having such a down day yesterday with the Coronavirus blues. I'm tired of staying inside. I want to be outside free as ever again and being around whoever and whatever I want, etc. Are you with me? Atleast we can dream about it and turn up the radio. Yeahhhhhhh.....
When the world starts to get you down
And nothing seems to go your way
And the noise of the maddening crowd
Makes you feel like you're going to go insane
There's a glow of a distant light
Calling you to come outside
To feel the wind on your face and your skin
And it's here I begin my story
Turn up the radio
Turn up the radio
Don't ask me where I wanna go
We gotta turn up the radio
It was time that I opened my eyes
I'm leaving the past behind
Nothing's ever what it seems
Including this time and these crazy dreams
I'm stuck like a moth to a flame
I'm so tired of playing this game
I don't know how I got to this state
Let me out of my cage cause I'm dying
Turn up the radio
Turn up the radio
Don't ask me where I wanna go
We gotta turn up the radio
Turn up the radio
Turn up the radio
Don't ask me where I wanna go
We gotta turn up the radio
I just wanna get in my car
I wanna go fast and I gotta go far
Don't ask me to explain how I feel
'Cause I don't want to say where I'm going
Turn down the noise and turn up the volume
Don't have a choice cause the temperatures pounding
If leaving this place is the last thing I do
Then I want to escape with a person just like you
I'm stuck like a moth to a flame
I'm so sick and tired of playing this game
We gotta have fun it it's all that we do
Gotta shake up the system and break all the rules
Gotta turn up the radio until the speakers blow
Turn up the radio
Turn up the radio
Don't ask me where I wanna go
We gotta turn up the radio
Turn up the radio
Turn up the radio
There's somethings you don't need to know
Just let me turn up the radio
Turn up the radio
Just let me turn up the radio
Just let me turn up the radio

Blue Prince got a reaction from aleex123 in Madonna songs that would suit other albums
We know Madonna's albums have quite distinctive productions but even she sometimes tends to reminisce and revisit some sounds or ideas. So are there any songs but mostly singles that you could easily imagine as parts of other albums of hers with little to no changes? For me there's Cherish that feels a lot like a True Blue song while Live To Tell has that dramatic feel of Like A Prayer. Of course I Don't Search I Find as part of Erotica as well but that similarity was intentional. What's your ideas?
