kesiak reacted to EgoRod in Lady Gaga and Katy Perry plagiarized VOGUE by MADONNA (again)
These two remixes are done by DJs not Katty Perry and Gaga.It involves their choices of samples and beats, which are characteristic of DJ work. However, I couldn't identify any direct samples from Madonna's "Vogue" in these mixes. It's possible that you might be interpreting common house beats and keystrokes as samples from the original track.
It's worth noting that Madonna's "Vogue" itself wasn't entirely original, as Pettibone incorporated elements from classical Ballroom runway house music. And his own catalog. While it's a fantastic track, its foundation lies in this genre.
Is almost 2024, the ongoing debate about Gaga vs. Madonna vs. Mariah, or any similar comparisons, is booooring and unnecessary

kesiak got a reaction from heikeeduardo in Gay vs. Straight fans
I think the moment it became obvious Madonna wasn't just a bimbo and that she was clear about owning her sexuality (as opposed to having it displayed for straight male audience's pleasure) was when heterosexual men went off her.

kesiak reacted to EgoRod in The Celebration Tour (Spoilers)
Yeah but it was from the sound of it a final edit, not like they were planning to change it later. There were different songs rehearsed and they change it after the hospital scare to be more relaxed for her. Frozen, Power of Goodbye and Take a Bow were replaced by Rain because the meaning of the songs are less optimistic and celebratory. I would love Frozen but Rains makes sense at that stage of the concert.

I prefer it when the pics aren't filtered as I think she looks incredible for 65 and there isn't a need to add filters.

kesiak reacted to EgoRod in George Michael comments on the Britney and Christina kiss
I don't think he's being mean-spirited in his response. It's his personal opinion and didn't put Madonna down in it.
At the time, Madonna was kind of mentoring Britney. They both wore T-shirts with each other's names. While Christina was clearly managed, I saw the Britney-Madonna combo as Madonna caring for her and Britney greatly admiring M.
George Michael has always been incredibly particular about his collaborations and how his work is represented, sometimes obsessively. Madonna has been more relaxed about who she works with. He and Elton John often seem too precious for the common world. They might have their reasons, but a bit of humility could make them more approachable, I think.
Regarding the 'desperation' or shock value part: He made a whole music video based on being arrested in a toilet.
A fun thing to do, but he was cashing out on the tabloids and the shock of the public.

Bless Shep, which each interview his story subtly changes. Now they came up with the Vogue rap together apparently...

kesiak reacted to wonderboy in Celebration Tour : Fans' Review (spoiler welcome) with Very Special Information.
A few people asked me for my review of the show, but instead of repeating what you can read literally anywhere online I will share a spoiler free realization that I had after watching the show. If you’re in a forum or a group like this you’re probably like me, a lifelong fan. And throughout my entire life I can always relate what was going on in my life to whatever Madonna song came out at that time and usually the song was relevant to what I was going through. She was literally writing the soundtrack to my life and I’m sure a lot of other fans feel the same way. Not just about the lyrics themselves but usually the message behind the song or what she was doing socially always resonated and what I never realized until seeing this show was that those songs are not just the soundtrack to our lives but also to hers. And I never realized that until I saw this show and saw her songs presented in a way that forms a timeline of everything she went through the same time we were going through our own things. I guess I had blinders on and only saw how it related to me and never realized that it was coming from her because she was going through it too She writes about life events, loss, love, sex, relationships, family, partying and everything in between in a way that related to minorities, gay people, women, not necessarily the norm. it’s been said that she writes songs that are nursery rhymes for adults but it’s so much more than that. And my main take away from this show was that She was going through all those things too, I just never realized it bcz I always associated things with my own life so to see it unfold like this for the first time seeing it through her eyes and what she went through was really spectacular
