    For me it's pretty clear.
She stopped intense sport (which is catastrophic for a body overtrained for decades).
She's done an intervention for her butt at 60 years which destabilized her body and creating additional pressures on his joints. It prevents her from being as dynamic and fluid as she was.
She seems enjoying more drinking than before.
I hope she will recover without too much damage to her body and her mind

Glad she was able to make it tonight and Sodade was once again performed with Dino. Oddly Crave was cut probably due to the choreography more than likely. Seeing the earlier comments, well she is ageing and the body does catch up with you eventually and you can still go but injuries and exhaustion are far more likely. It doesn't mean she's a shell of a performer but just natural ageing process happening. MDNA was probably the last intense choreography we'll probably get from her but since she's not dancing badly or out of sync. Less maybe yes but she's still a show-woman giving her best and doing what she's always done.

There are a number of reasons, she went through a rough patch, both artistically (with RH leaking) and physically with her foot/ankle injury from dancing in high heels. She then moved to Lisbon post RH Tour and she herself has admitted that her workouts these days have taken a back foot. Her priorities have changed, and that's absolutely fine!
Plus, it has nothing to do with age, just priorities. I mean, Mick Jagger is still running around the stage at 70+ like he was 20 lol

Again, it's apples and oranges.  Since 1996, Madonna has always had young children to consider whenever she toured, which was already very often considering her personal situation.  Cher's children have been grown for decades.  She doesn't have 7 year olds distracting her with ridiculous antics pre-show or whatever else M does backstage for hours.  It's obvious from her IG that post-2012, M simply spends all her time with children (from her dancers, to her boy toys, to her literal children) and doesn't maintain the health discipline she used to in the past.  That's her choice and people are certainly free to spend their time how they wish.
Her issues this tour are from an injury that has been present the whole tour and her inability to acknowledge that she needs serious rest, not gallivanting to the beach or parties here and there and getting drunk, regardless that it's her right to do so.  Her issues with PR have to do with how she's treated her hardcore fan base and the new reputation she has as being completely unreliable in when and whether she will show up while still charging more extortionate prices than ever.  Cher's prices don't compare at all.  She'll still be able to venture out on tour if she wants to but not the way she keeps behaving so unprofessionally to so many.

I have actually. Every tour Confessions-onwards, minus S&S. We can certainly have a difference in opinion, but to imply I haven't seen these tours myself to understand that they're "amazing and unparalleled" is a little silly.
And many fans have felt otherwise regarding the Madame X Tour in particular, myself included (who has seen nearly everyone live, too). Yes, I did go live. Multiple times.
It's not that I'm comparing her to Cher as to imply one is a better performer than the other. It's simply an observation that Cher has a pretty demanding international arena tour schedule at 75, and it's odd that Madonna, who used to be such a health zealot, seems to have dialed it down quite suddenly post-MDNA era and has had such a string of health issues as of late (remember, she's been using the cane since at least the Grammy's performance in 2014). And that I never thought the day would come where we were discussing her inability to even venture out on tour. That's all.

You clearly haven't seen the tours because her performance ability live is still amazing and unparalleled.  When she's not injured and at least the early part of this tour before things got so bad, the RHT and Madame X tours were still far better than anything anyone else is putting out, even among younger pop artists (and I've seen nearly everyone live in the past few years).  Comparing her to Cher... it's apples and oranges.

Don't you think it's awfully odd that she's deteriorated so quickly in performance ability, though? I just want to point out the differences in these two performances:
Cher Believe Tour Finale (53 Years Old):
Madonna MDNA Tour Finale (54 Years Old):
And yet we now we're here discussing Madonna retiring from touring...at 61...I mean, 7 years after what she was doing on the MDNA Tour?! That's unfathomable to me.
The difference in Madonna the performer pre-2012 and post-2012 will always be one of the most fascinating mysteries in her career to me...

    Madonna:
    Alcohol and medications uh?
BTW, I am not saying she doesn't have a health problem, I am saying she has a communication problem, being detached from the rest of the world and being surrounded by extremely bad advisors.
Those videos of M dancing is probably the most scandalous thing she's ever done in her career. And, for the first time, she is shocking her fans.

Katy's triangle on her tour is way longer than the MDNA one & the shape is a bit different, MDNA had more of a diamond at the tip.

I saw it on Saturday and it's so different from the rest of her tours that you can't even compare. It's a whole new concept for her and I get why some fans may not like it. It's truly a new phase for Madonna and the old one, for better or for worse, it's now gone.

The appeal of Madonna’s shows for me was always the larger than life spectacle and the high budget production. When she announced a theater tour, I was very disappointed but I still tried to see the silver lining that it would be something original and emphasizes on art and singing and feature her forgotten gems and new material. Unfortunately, it seems a lot more like a low budget downsized version of her big shows than an authentic theatrical experience.

It is her worst tour, yes:
    Low budget production.
    Uninspired costumes.
    Bad scheduling and planning.
Lack of innovation in terms of reinventing songs live.
Terrible setlist, and I’m happy that it includes more new material, but still doesn’t seem to fit and I’d much rather have forgotten gems like East Ride, Falling Free, Why’s It So Hard and Bad Girl than covers or Papa Don’t Preach, Human Nature, Like A Prayer, Vogue and Express Yourself for the millionth time in some of their most uninspired versions.
Misleading teasers on Instagram where most of the rehearsed gems were cut.
Too much time wasted on speeches or the Polaroid and beer segments.
The show is more like a downsized version of her big tours rather than a true theater experience.

I completely understand that she is injured and I wouldn’t want her to be in any pain What so ever, sorry but continually cancelling shows at the last minute, giving half arsed apologies ‘hopefully see you Tuesday’. Sorry this isn’t acceptable she is a professional artist start acting like one, stop trying to prove a point and admit that your body can’t take anymore. Also the late starts because she can sorry that is treating fans badly. If you’re happy to accept this from an artist then so be it, but a lot of us now have had enough.
Also sending her positive vibes isn’t going to cover the thousands of pounds on travel and accommodation, she needs to be honest with us and either cancel the tour completely or rejig the dates cancelling certain dates upfront so that fans aren’t let down and losing more money.

I attended on the 14th, 16th and 18th shows. The 16th show was weakest for me, cause she was distracted or something - she forgot lyrics in some songs, messed up some steps  18th show was really good one, but I felt all the pain she had... I had feeling she will cancel Sundays show :(
On 16th show were few changes - during coffin interlude two girls were dancing, not the guy, but on 18th it back to the guy dancing. Lower shoes, during Batuka dancer helps her to come down the stairs (it didn't happened in NY shows then I attended).
And I loved every second being in Lisbon. Lots of Madonna fans (a lot of people with Madonna t- shirts and jumpers walking around the town). Attended to Miroca Paris (M musician) concert on 17th, Madonna crew was there too and the vibe at the show was so good and friendly. M crew was dancing with the fans and it felt like one big M family having a party together :D
Comparing to the shows at BAM I saw - Lisbon so much better. The crowd more into M, everyone singing, screaming, dancing and it feels that Madame X belongs to Europe this time
I was filmed few times for DVD on 14th show, hope I will be in the final cut :D And I ended up in M instagram video during I Rise

I attended the show on the 14th in Lisbon. The show was beyond expectations, just amazing.
M talked with the audience A LOT and at some point she said this:
"For the past 2 months, my leg feels like wood and I can't control it. Please excuse me for this, I want you to focus your attention from the waist up"
She did her BESTEST to keep up with the show and she did. At parts the choreo was toned down but again being the pro that she is it didnt show but if you know M and her stage presence you could feel it...
Especially when she went up and down stairs, she had assistance . And there were random movements where her thigh would make spasms and shake randomly and she couldnt control it. yet she absolutely delivered. At certain moments in the show , she hurt so much you could see it in her face but she would quickly smile like the happiest person in the world so we wouldnt notice.
In Medellin, when shes on the table doing the spread legs thing, she forced herself so hard to do it.
My heart broke as I could feel the outstanding pain she was in. But my heart also was fullfiled as she fought the pain like a soldier and gave us a night to remember for life.
An the Yondr thing...ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT IDEA! Everyone enjoyed the show so much!

TOAC Melbourne she rode the bike but that was it, just sang and moved around the stage with natural movement and dance, no choreography. Its out of her comfort zone and it was cute how nervous she was but she was just as mesmerizing hearing her sing lots of older songs and better for the vocal focus (curse those grillz but). We all need to be human and grow and change as we age, Madonna resists that a bit too much sometimes as do some fans, she wont last forever

People let's not split hairs about both sides of the issues. People affected are going to be disappointed about their show being cancelled given the money, hotels and everything else taken into account so it's not a bad thing if they are angry, sad or disappointed. It's become a gamble this tour the risk of cancellations due to her health problems. However, let's not also blame Madonna for something beyond her control. Rest and laying off the knee are what's best and she seems to have made accommodations to the show already but given the reduced choreography and change in shoes, it's still bothering her. We can't predict if future shows will be a go or get the cut but I would say look into the refund policy or a secondary way of getting money back before a deadline or enjoying the city you'll be seeing her in as a backup. However, I am sorry for the members who didn't see her tonight and run the risk of a future show being cancelled. As fans we all want a chance to see her on stage but we also want the best for her and her health, so let's see what happens and hopefully it doesn't cost someone to be out of their money or future damage to Madonna's knee etc.

I must be in the minority but I don't want a greatest hits tour from her. If she does indeed go and cancel the tour, I'd rather a new album where she feels creative and inspired like Madame X (if you liked it or not) and a mixture of hits, album tracks, a rarity or two and see how she'll continue evolving as an artist on stage.

I think, she should cancel the rest of the tour, do it now in advance to give everyone time to seek refunds etc. She really needs to give her body and herself time to heal, get the treatment needed to fix it properly, rather than pushing through it and risk creating far greater problems.
She can then come back later this year, fully healed and can put on an amazing show without being in constant pain. I know a lot of people have booked tickets, accommodation, airfare etc. But her long term health is more important.

No version since BAT sounds good. I'd rather she just put it away if she can't get a decent bass player like Guy Pratt or keyboardist,as well as drummer. I just turns a heavenly song into some awful fan mix. I just don't bother anymore.
