  1. I'm not sure their work with Madonna would reach our expectations. Sometimes things are better as ideas than as reality. Anyway, I'm happy for the Sorry remixes and the fact that she used Neil's vocals in the tour performance.
  2. Agreed! But maybe she's not doing the entire show. Maybe one segment per day?
  3. 63? That's every mainstream artist touring in the US, right?
  4. Rain works so much better! Sonically and thematically. I hope it stays on the setlist until Rio.
  5. But Madame X is so many things and she's travelling around the world. I don't think the intention was to make a "portuguese-inspired" album. I mean, you could link a different place/culture to each of these songs: Medellin and Bitch I'm Loca/Colombia, Future/Jamaica, Batuka and Funana/Cape Verde, Come Alive/Morocco, Ciao Bella/Italy, Faz Gostoso/Brazil, Dark Ballet/France, God Control/USA ...
  6. Medellín is a tune! I love its sonic weirdness, the structure, the fact that the song breathes within its length. The lyrics are good to the point that even the drinking reference feels unforced this time (I hate the drinking references to Girl Gone Wild, Give Me All Your Luvin' and Bitch I'm Madonna). Even Maluma is above his standards lyrically and their chemistry is off the charts. I Like how he seems protective of her at the same time he's in awe that it's "MADONNA". And the video is great too.
  7. I hope she enjoys her staying in Mexico. Mother is tired and in a bad mood for awhile now, she deserves an injection of good vibes!
  8. True Blue all the way. And without text preferably.
  9. That's not really shade, LOL. She doesn't like pop, or anything much really. We already knew that.
  10. We should make a collective effort to make it reach 100M a little faster (and see 99% of the forum saying it is the worst song ever LOL)
  11. You guys set yourselves up to frustration and disappointment. Ricardo is a photographer, of course it is a magazine cover. It was never going to be about new music, deluxe editions... She looks good, I like her hair like this.
  12. Well, this is the woman that made the MDNA Tour using footage from the Olympia teather with shots from Stadiums and Arenas. I Don't think the Rio concert will be THAT different from the actual Arena shows, so...
  13. We will probably get the Rio footage mixed with 1000 cuts from other venues plus rehearsals and deal. We are lucky to have a show being broacast live, the last time was Drowned World Tour, right? (Besides the MDNA Olympia pocket show and promo tours).
  14. Madonna would get bored out of her mind doing a long contract Vegas type residency. In any place. I see her doing maybe a month at the same venue at most.
  15. Sometimes I wonder how dramatic people would get if we had social media back in 1990 and people recording every show from every angle. "OMG SHE'S OVER SHE LOST HER VOICE AGAIN" "THIS TOUR IS A MESS, EVERY SHOW HAS A DIFFERENT TECH ISSUE" "SHE WAS RUDE TO A FAN" "WTF DID SHE DO WITH HER HAIR, EUROPE'S GOING TO BE A FLOP WITHOUT THE PONYTAIL" "WHERE'S BORDERLINE AND LUCKY STAR, THE SETLIST IS TERRIBLE"
  16. Oh Oh the Sandra borngorn, born something, Sandra I forgot her last name police is here! You guys must be very naive to think that she only talks about Madonna because people ask her. I'm sure she could veto any Madonna-related question if she wanted to, but she knows very well that her comments make headlines. Please... Stating this doesn't diminish Sandra's talent, impact or whatever.
  17. Cool! I can hear a hint of Pat in her voice, good for her. Pat Benatar so is underrated by the way! Amazing vocalist with a bunch of perfect pop songs.
  18. Bitch, literally nobody will focus on you on a Madonna show. It's so funny to think that someone that's been using Madonna's name for over 30 years to get headlines would want to be that cautious. Yeah, right.
  19. Based on the snippets we have of rough mixes and his Drum Mix of Secret she was right to bring Nellee Hooper and Daniel Abraham to give a cohesive sound and mix to the project. It was her album after all.
  20. Probably a conscious decision while touring. They don't want another bathtub incident .
  21. You know which Madonna vocal is underrated? Beautiful Stranger. Her voice is like honey on the verses. A very controled delivery but she manages to read the song so well. She's flirtatious, doubtful, even hurt and then the chorus explodes it's just fun. I love it.
  22. I get and share your frustation, but the podcast was about influential dance music. I mean, of course she got to do more refined songs in the 90s and 00s but when it comes to being influential there's no way people will overlook the 80s songs. These early 80s songs made her become a cultural phenomenon for a reason. When it comes to pure dance songs it was either Into the Groove, Holiday or, if we push it, Lucky Star. I'm glad they went with Into the Groove insted of Holiday since she wrote the song and there's more information about it around to make a podcast than Lucky Star.
  23. Same here. I enjoyed the approach but the execution got tired fast. I felt some chapters had the author spending more time going about what was happening culturally than whatever that had to do with Madonna at that point in time. It could use some editing. But yes, if you have the time, I'd say still one of the best books to get a sense of ~ Madonna, the cultural impact ~ and how Madonna acts as mirror pointed to society and how that reflects in her work.
