I honestly don't get the widespread hate on Jimmy Jimmy!? That's been one of my bops since I was 10. It's not even bad at all - melody, chord progression, and vocal wise. My opinion but a strong one lol

Mmm - i think JJ is the weakest song on TB but its still one of her best albums imo - when you stack it up against gold songs like OYH, PDP, LIB & LTT its always going to seem like the poor relation i guess - as for Cherish i think thats a good song but it doesnt really fit with the mature sound she was aiming for on LAP - it almost seems like it was added at the last minute - the video is kind of meh too

I think most of us need to understand that most of M's music videos were made during the analog pre-HD era (NTSC 4:3) so as much as it will say “1920x1080p” or “HD" online... honey it really isn't. People can upscale all they want to today's HD standards but until Madonna's camp/WB does an official HD remaster of her videos into TRUE HD and release them commerically... they're just altered versions of the original 4:3 music videos. The only TRUE HD videos are those released on YouTube/Online during the MDNA & RH eras. Maybe the videos during the COADF & HC eras were shot in HD but as far as we know, they're still 4:3 on the official home video releases. Just wanted to clarify on that

I wanna KNOW what it really was like back in 1998 when RoL was released? How was the actual era for those who lived it (I'm jealous!) I heard "Frozen" was REALLY huge and "Ray Of Light" was played nonstop. Is this true!? I was only 5 then

Like a lot of her albums(erotica, im breathless) this didnt really grab me very much at the time(being a fan since 1987 i was excited though ! ) - a lot of the songs weren't very catchy but i loved the ambient sound of it - i think drowned world is the song that has stuck with me the most over the years and it still is one of my favourite tracks of her - i love the way it starts off very quiet and then gradually builds - i love songs like that - i also love the japan bonus track "has to be" way more than songs like skin(which i hate - sorry) it was a special time and its the first time i can remember her being not only critically successful but also commercially - imo the singles didn't do very well probably because they werent really "radio" friendly especially NRM, DW & POG - Frozen only did well because it was the lead off single i think - rol was a hit mainly because of its video - i remember watching the mtv awards where she won big and all i can think is why didnt she get this many awards for far better videos like vogue,open your heart, bad girl, take a bow, rain ? again it just shows mtv care more about popularity than actual artistic merit - sure rol is a good video but i think she has done way better videos than this - i actually preferred garbages' video of push it more at the time and think they should have won?
