  1. I also liked both their energies on M's shows. They added so much. Both are great live performers and compliment M so much. I guess it is a tribute to both that they have never really been replaced in a sense as Madonna has never had any back up singers take on such a role since the three of them last performed together in 2001.

  2. You really must be in an unhappy place right now in your life generally. Hope things get better for you!  :kissy:

As for the tour - from what I've seen it looks like a celebration of love and Madonna. There's so much warmth about it and I can't wait to see it live!

Me either, so many reviews from WTG tour on always said great show, but Madonna comes off cold. Hence the media making a note of Madonna's warmth and happiness on this tour. This is what I am most excited for. Just hope she is as happy and excited to get to Australia in March. I can't wait for this show now. So intimate, I literally feel like she is giving her fans a big hug on stage, lol.

  3. This seems to be fake... M posted on instagram a pic of Dress You Up and you can see that she is dressed with the dress she posted before to sing Who's That Girl... This setlist doesn't match with that. I don't know what this guy is listening to.

Read the posts, Runaway Boy missed at least two numbers (Most like Dress You Up was performed then) Plus they got moved farther from the venue, meaning anything after WTG could be missing stuff.

  4. the order seems strange...

When I first saw Confessions setlist I was baffled I mean Music, Erotica, La Isla Bonita, Lucky Star, Hung Up?????? I had no idea how that would ever work. In fact that whole setlist was so odd to me.

MTribe are totally reliable and at least two people on the forum have confirmed they were/are at the venue listening.

Also remember this is all being listened to not seen. No idea what is what at this point and Paolo on MTribe is getting info from Runaway Boy and sharing it.

  5. My problem is that ppl are constantly attacking me for my opinion. You can just ignore it seriously. Everyone is like "I love everything she does no matter what". I'm not like that.

The issue is if you had said "Not a big fan of the setlist, wish she had done more 90's songs and rare stuff" most people probably would have been more sympathetic, I know I would.

But when you act like Madonna is personally trying to spite you and the world is ending and everything horrible is happening to you and Madonna is the cause of all your pain, anger and frustration, people get defensive and attack you.

Just a chill a bit, you don't have to like everything she does, I don't. Hated the Bedtime Stories era initially, warmed up to it, but I didn't go around asking why she was doing this to me and couldn't release another Like a Prayer or Erotica. At the time 1994 - 1997 was a snooze fest as a fan. I appreciate it more now though.

  6. Yeah, and that's what makes me so mad. She could use the time to actually perform some songs she has never done or hasn't done in a long time. Do you get me?

Yeah I get where you are coming from, but you seem incapable of seeing this from anyone else's point of view but your own. A world tour isn't about you or what you want. I am sorry you can't just be happy for others and sit this one out. Trust me in almost 30 years of being a fan things have rarely gone my way, I deal with it and move on.

  7. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY and yet another major disappointment. Yes Madge, give me your worst tour ever. I wanna know if not buying a ticket was good decision.

Glad she is doing these old songs. I live in Australia and have never had a chance to see them live. So sucks to be you, but yay for me. Been a fan since 1986, so if one person needs to suffer to give me a great 80's hits show then I have no problem with it.Thanks Madonna for thinking of more than one fan with this tour and thinking of all the new countries you are going to for the first time and giving them hits they have never had a chance to see before.

Madonna arrived in Japan Jan 19th 1985 and left around a week later (she appeared at the AMA's in LA on Jan 28th), it is worth noting that the Rolling Stone shoot from 1985 and her LAV tourbook photo spread shot by Herb Ritts were taken at this time too in Hawaii, either on the way to or from Japan. Madonna mentioned the shoot in her speech at Herb Ritts memorial and hinted that she hated it, but got over it and continued to work with Ritts.

I can add more tomorrow. I am sure I missed stuff, will try to check and see what if anything I missed or got wrong

  9. Financially, that is not good business.  Neither is it good business from a PR perspective.  If Madonna does not announce a farewell tour, she allows the media and public to control her exit and the message around her retirement.  That will never happen.  Madonna will always have control over how and when it happens.

    Example-Cher

Her extended farewell tour catapulted her into the record setting grossing tours.  If you think Madonna is going to miss that opportunity while she is at the top of the food touring chain presently... I think your mistaken.

Tickets for any announced Madonna Farewell tour would gross more than S&S parts 1&2 easily.

There a lot of things she could be doing now that would make better financial sense so I don't really take that into account.

She seems so adamant not to be doing anything that will make her seem old, and making an announcement about retiring and doing a farewell tour is like telling the world "I am too old for this" I just don't see her making a spectacle of it. Her tours still sell well, she doesn't need a gimmick to sell tickets. RHT may be sluggish, but it isn't a disaster.

I don't know, no one does, It is so difficult to know how she feels about this era. She seems happy and like she has no fuc*s to give, but who knows.

  10. ^ Madonna herself has said in various interviews that she hates looking back and is very forward thinkingNot trying to sound conceitedI just don't think that PAYING people to preserve her legacy is high up on her list of priorities, she probably hasn't even given it a thought.

I disagree, she is not stupid. She knows that stuff will be worth something one day. She just doesn't want to be an oldies act who relies on past work to keep her current. That was always the sign of a has been. Besides Madonna wouldn't be paying anyone, most of the stuff would be in the Warners Archives. They may not be the best at re-releasing old material (apparently Madonna has some sort of deal with them that she has to approve of any releases, that is a strong rumour I have heard) but they do archive pretty well.

  11. I thought this was an interesting thread, but I didn't want to come back and look at it after what Queen was saying, but I see they've now been banned, so we can discuss it like adults.Yes, the case was about the horns - but I'm pretty sure they are the same horns. They sit on a stem on their own in the multitrack so we can't be sure. There is also a track which is a conga beat which loops and you can hear vinyl scratches on it so it's probably been lifted from something. And there's a very heavy breakbeat which goes throughout the whole song (it's what gives Vogue its distinctive style and gets dropped into bits of Deeper and Deeper when she repeats the lines from that song). This might be from Love Break. I'm not sure.

Anyway... what's clear to me is that there is some lying that's gone one.

But wasn't the point not whether it was used but that it was ruled insignificant or so minor it wasn't worthy of a law suit. I am not sure what you are saying exactly. Who lied? The defenses case suggested it be thrown out for this reason and that's what the court ruled, the sample was insignificant.

The article you linked clearly states that the sample was deemed to be such a small buried part of the song that no audience would connect the two and so there is no case. If it took new technology to find this, then what audience would even be aware of the use of such things 25 years ago or even today. How were Madonna/Shep gaining from the use of the sample when no one could hear it, not even the plaintiffs without new technology 25 years later.

Can you explain your position better, as I find what you are saying unclear. You also state there is a back beat that may or may not be part of Love Break, again what is your point? I know I probably sound rude and I don't mean to, but your points are not clear to me at all.

  12. As far as I knew Madonna sold the movie outright to Miramax, she was going to use a clip in IGTTYAS but they wanted her to pay like $250K or something like that. She has no rights to the film at all. So if it is lost, it isn't her fault.

The concert footage would have been part of the deal, so most likely it is hidden somewhere too. Who knows if it is even being taken care of, which would be a shame. I am sure it is mislabeled somewhere as so much film is. Many things are found decades later, but only after extremely long searches or pure luck and chance, some things get found while looking for other things.

In terms of her music videos, none of them used the original elements when being cut, they were mastered to video apparently, so WB have all the negatives, but it would mean re-editing them all to get a Blu Ray worthy picture. That's why the Celebration video was crap, I believe they used the video masters and not the camera negatives of the film. As the video masters were already edited.

It has long been known that all her concerts from WTG on are archived, every show is taped (basically what is seen on the screens in the arena) and is in the archives. So Madonna and WB do keep stuff.

Last note, it was stated I think in ICON in 1990 that Pioneer were getting the ToD concert footage, then they were getting a compilation of different numbers from different shows around the world (sort of like the Coldplay DVD) It was settled later that they would get the HBO show. I think the first two ideas would have been better.
