Vogue Italia got a reaction from G House in Diablo Cody didn't 'quit' Madonna biopic!
Entertainment Weekly is more reliable than The Sun and The Daily Mail. M and Diablo finished the script months ago. It doesn't make sense that she would quit now. If M was so unbearable she would have quit long before they finished. Some fans (not directed at you) always expect the worst and believe everything negative about M. It makes sense that Diablo would begin other projects since they turned in the script to Universal. They might bring on another writer to edit it. M's recent Instagram post with the long hair said "Why do I have to Explain Everything." I think it was directed at the rumors.

She looks amazing but at the same time she looks so false and plastic like a barbie doll. I'm conflicted. Just don't recognise her anymore but obviously it's absolutely her choice to look how she wants.

I also won wonder if the biopic will house the new songs she is recording.

I can imagine a double CD soundtrack of songs featured in the film with an additional bunch of new songs added in.
If the period they are focusing on is pre-Madonna through to Ray Of Light, Warner will make most of the money from the soundtrack. By adding in 8 new tracks on the double CD mom can cash in on those nostalgia sales by getting the same cut for her new tracks. I mean..I hope she'd think more about the plot and song relevancy than the money but we know her by now. Knowing M she'd have footage of her walking the streets of New York in 1979 to Bitch I'm Madonna. lol.
A double disc of the songs she wants to use in the film might see her picking some of her personal favourites and not necessarily all the obvious songs. I'd say the only four songs we know are defo in are Everybody (first single), Like A Virgin, Like A Prayer and Vogue cause we've seen the script notes. Probably an Evita one in there too. She'll probably discard all the songs she thinks are "redacted" . That leaves a lot of scope for new songs...possibly some unreleased songs from the time (which would be super cute), and songs she feels tell her story better than Cherish and Into The Groove. (though if Into The Groove is not included there will be riots I tell thee.
Who knows. Most soundtracks are one disc (Bohemian Rhapsody and Rocketman) but there will likely be a Greatest Hits to follow or coincide and these new tracks may be for that...or an entirely new album. Who knows what mom has cooking up. It;'s gonna be a mega exciting year when it happens. Probably the last big hurrah dare I say x

I don't particularly like "S.E.X." either. Even the title is super REDUCTIVE. In fact, I think "Holy Water" works way better in terms of its innuendos and overall sensuality.
When it comes to Rebel Heart, it's pretty obvious that not only did the hacker change her plans, but let's be honest, things were a bit messy anyway... The amount of producers and songwriters was inevitably going to lead to a somewhat choppy and overloaded project. Don't get me wrong, even if the album is a bit all over the place in terms of styles and production, I do think it RH is one of Madonna's finest pop records. Melodically and musically, she delivered some of her most accessible songs; the fact that songs like "Ghosttown" were grossly ignored by the public and DJs at the time, to me, did show the degree of ageism, dislike and cynicism towards M and her work. Criminal. That song, if recorded by a younger pop artist, would've blown the radio at he time.
Now, back to the topic of a new album, I question what musical direction she could take at this point. Her last 3 albums, together, explored so many different genres and styles that I do wonder what would inspire/motivate her these days. It's interesting that she's always said to like artists like Nina Simone and Billie Holiday, yet, that blues-jazz sensibility seems to still be absent in her musical experimentations. Would be nice to get something more intimate like that at this point of her career. She could even mix it up with something trendier and modern too. She revels in fusing and mixing styles, after all, and she's darn good at it!

In October, she said the script was 133 pages. I think a series would be ideal. She has lived an eventful life and wants to cover a lot a lot of moments. After seeing these Post-it notes and hearing her talk about the film, I can see why she didn't want someone else telling her story. I skimmed the script that was written for the Universal biopic Blonde Ambition, and it was mainly a melodrama between her and Jellybean that ended with her telling him she had an abortion after her 1984 VMA performance. There is no mention of her friendships with Martin Burgoyne and Keith Haring. Jellybean's sister Debbie is in the script, but not Debi Mazar. No mention of her relationship with Basquiat either.

I don’t want Madonna associating too closely with any Presidential Administration. I voted for Biden purely to get Trump out,  but Biden is quite conservative  to moderate and mainstream. He opposes Medicare for All. I don’t see him making any major revolutionary or radical changes.
I like it that she is a bit separate and does her own thing. I was drawn to her because I never fitted in anywhere. I would be disappointed if she became part of the establishment musical or political.
Why are some people so concerned about other people’s opinions? Why does Madonna have to be popular with the general public for us to justify being a fan?
Why do you care if Biden or Kamala add her to their Spotify lists? Those lists are chosen by their staff and what they think will make them look good. It’s not as though they themselves actually listen to most of those artists..
I used to work in politics. I know how phony it is and how they avoid anything controversial and appeal to the lowest common denominator. Madonna needs to stay away from the lot of them.

I'm sure Lola and Rocco think we, Madonna fans, are a pretty pathetic bunch (I have met a few myself lol). It must be weird for them to see the level of idolatry/worship and obsession that their mum inspires in so many people... worrying too, like we have no lives of our own. Even Madonna has clearly encouraged us to focus on our own lives, and also kept her distance from us—which is understanble. Truthfully, she has never been chummy with us, nor really made us feel like we owe her anything. Which doesn't mean she isn't thankful, but I'm convinced that she's the kind of person who truly believes that everything she has is mostly the result of hard work and discipline, even if MANY people (collaborators, enablers, industry members, boyfriends, lovers, friends, and fans, of course) have been instrumental for her success.
But going back to the topic, Lola clearly takes after her mother in terms of "sense of humour" and bitchiness. Unlike other celebrities and their children, these bunch have no interest in even pretending to like the public. Actually, I always giggled at hardcore fans waiting to see Madonna before and after shows during the MX Tour... Seriously, the woman NEVER stopped to say hi. And they still stood there (often in the cold) anxiously waiting for her. That's what Lola refers to when accusing of having "no life". Also, seeing some fans literally celebrating the fact that she's bullying them is truly pathetic, and it does expose how ridiculous social media is (in a worrying way).
I'm also not going to pretend/imagine Madonna's kids are nice at all. Especially Lola and Rocco. Mercy does look like the kindest soul, but the others... Hm.... Rocco is really just like his dad—a posh, entitled brat. Even his choice of clothing for the recent trip to Africa made me think how much his attire looked like a distasteful throwback to the British Empire. Yuck. Some trivia: I met Guy back in 2011 at an event in one of his homes in Fitzrovia (central London) and I realised how much of an upper/middle-class chauvinistic bully he was. I was only a uni student then and it was quite heartbreaking, as I only realised afterwards how clever and sophisticated his bullying had been towards me and some of my friends. Oh well, you live, you learn. But yea, these kids... Stay away people haha.

Yes, I mentioned in my previous post that there is a sex scene with Basquiat in M's script. The part I wrote about him not being mentioned was in reference to the Blonde Ambition script that was written by Elyse Hollander. That's the movie Universal wanted to make but M shut that down years ago. I was making a point that people who were important in her life aren't mentioned in that script, so it's good that she is telling her own story. You can read the Blonde Ambition script here:

I think it's because regardless on if she's admitting defeat or not, she's catering to her Lambs by giving them #MC30. I personally don't think she's admitting defeat, if anything she's making a change after that whole Stella/ reality show fiasco. She still strives to put out quality music. Caution (which was a step up from The Elusive Chanteuse) got rave reviews but Mariah was like it wasn't good enough and she can do better. Revisiting the past doesn't necessarily mean you're giving up on the present and future. She accomplished a lot in 30 years and she shouldn't be faulted for wanting to acknowledge her past discography. Besides, that Christmas song has permanently engraved Mariah into the past, present and future.
