Household name means, in general, everyone in an average household knows who you are, they might not follow your career or be a big fan but they gave a general idea of who you are
 
Madonna has been a household name since late 1984, although she's probably not talked about like she was on in the 80s, 90s parts of the 2000s, everyone, when you say "Madonna" knows who you're talking about
 
Don't forget her 2012 Superbowl performance was watched by more people than any TV show in US history at that time and nearly half of the US population was watching

Secondly, if you read their mission statement, anyone in their right mind should be against BLM as their ultimate goal is complete abolishment of the police.  I'm half Black and have Aunt's and Uncle's who still live in the hood and they don't want police gone, and they're the ones whose livelihood will be most at risk, because of the tremendous amount of Black on Black crime, that will no doubt go up in their neighborhoods
 
And Black people, myself included, need to do better, the Black on Black homicide rate is disgusting, we can't complain about Black Lives Mattering, when they don't even matter to US
 
And white liberals really need to calm down and stop virtue signaling, from there priveledged white neighborhoods.  It's not about you 

Again the point that I made that you're refuting is that NO ONE will touch Madonna 's actual ALBUM sales record of over 200 million sold. DIGITAL 99 cent single sales are NOT THE SAME as selling albums for $15-$20 the world over. Rihanna's ALBUM sales have always been bad especially when you consider how "big" she supposedly is
 
Yes Rihanna may topple Madonna when it comes to total units sold (digital SINGLES 90% of her total sales) but no one especially Rihanna who hasn't even sold 50 million albums since her debut in 2015 will come for Madonna 's total worldwide ALBUM sales.

Are you serious? I'm talking about ALBUM sales, Rihanna hasn't even sold 50 million in ALBUM sales. Almost all her sales are DIGITAL SINGLES.

How anyone could think this is a real cover is beyond me

For me it's by far her worst album... I like three songs (God Control is good, Future (Tour version) and Crave being exceptional)...

To be honest i never listen to the album. Too dark and too many directions (reggaetton, classical music, reggae, disco, 90's dance, african beats....) and not one strong standout track that really blows away.  It was nice for 5 minutes in 2019 but that's it.... and i am so over the Madame X personna and even the name, everytime she posts a red X i'm like meh... I don't know why she tries so hard to push that non-eventful era down our throat two years later, move on already and give us a fresh new era/album that suits your beautiful new leeks !

These special Icon awards aren’t really given on merit, but who is willing to show up at the ceremony. Didn’t Taylor have to quarantine to be able to go to the ceremony? I really don’t think Madonna is going to fly all the way to London, quarantine when she doesn’t have a new album out to promote just to accept a silly award that will soon be forgotten. 

After the career she's had and everything she's achieved, do Madonna fans really need this kind of validation?

Taylor getting the award is fitting I guess given that her album sales and streaming are pretty impressive, although ironically her singles in the past couple of years have performed quite mediocrely; Cardigan and Willow both dropped like rocks in the US after just one week on the chart, and the latter only went #1 because Taylor's people discounted it like three times and released just as many remixes because Mariah's Xmas song was originally going to block it.
But really, it's such a pointless award so I don't care that Madonna didn't win it. Madonna > Taylor overall regardless.

It's a million times easier for a female to be bisexual or gay in our culture than a male is, hell even some women who call themselves liberal, won't go anywhere near a bisexual male and won't date them

Quality? That's a question of taste I guess. There's a lot of artists with 20, 30+ years of good pop music. If you're talking about cultural impact and shaping pop music, yes, I don't think there's anybody at her level and consistency, but she didn't do everything alone, there's life outiside our kingdom...
