This thread reeks of insecurity. Anyone with basic pop culture knowledge knows that the 'Queen Of Pop' honorific title has been widely associated with Madonna since the 80's. Not to take anything away from other iconic and accomplished women in music but you'd have to be very deluded to believe their success represents a serious threat to Madonna's status.
As of 2022, only three acts have sold more records than Madonna - The Beatles, Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson - and most importantly, her cultural impact is still unmatched to this day, something that will be even more evident when she leaves this Earth, as morbid as that sounds. Even if Taylor Swift somehow surpasses her sales in 20 years, that will not suddenly erase the existence of Madonna's pioneering career and legacy. Adele demolished Aretha Franklin's total sales with just one album but it's the latter who will always be referred to as the 'Queen Of Soul'.
I do agree that it is kind of annoying how the 'Queen Of Pop' title has been passed around to virtually everyone while Michael's 'King Of Pop' title remains undisputed despite the massive success of Drake, Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber, Bruno Mars, etc. but I believe this is fundamentally based on the sexist notion that women are interchangeable and seemingly replaceable once they get older. We as fans also contribute to this toxicity, constantly pitting female artists against each other but the truth is they can all coexist and we should uplift and celebrate women, not bring them down.

Madonna fans, soon we will be celebrating the 40th anniversary of Madonna's groundbreaking career and I think this would be a great way to celebrate her legacy .
Despite being one of the most significant recording artists of all time, shockingly, none of her works have ever been inducted in the Library Of Congress (USA).
Thankfully, we can submit our own nominations, hoping that her work will be finally taken in consideration by the committee.
    National Recording Registry

The National Recording Registry features sound recordings that are deemed to be "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant, and/or inform or reflect life in the United States."
    - Individuals may submit up to 50 Registry nominations per year. Please include in your nomination as much information about the recording as possible. All nominations should include the recording artist(s), title, and record label name/number for published recordings or a brief but specific description for unpublished and broadcast recordings.
    - Nominations should include a compelling justification that explains the cultural, historical and/or aesthetic significance of the recording(s).
    - No recording is eligible for inclusion into the National Recording Registry until ten years after the recording's creation.
    - Everyone is welcome to submit nominations to the National Recording Registry. Nominations are forwarded to the Librarian of Congress and the National Recording Preservation Board for their consideration.  Since 2006, 25 recordings have been selected annually. Pop stars like Cyndi Lauper (She's So Unusual), Janet Jackson (Rhyhtm Nation 1814) and Alicia Keys (Songs In A Minor) have been inducted in the past decade.

I believe that Sean was verbally and physically abusive. Where there's smoke there's fire. He was violent in public so I don't doubt that he was violent in private especially when he was intoxicated. Madonna initially filed for an annulment in 1987 for a reason. She tried to give it another shot but after the last reported incident, which I believe has some truth to it, she made the right choice to leave him for good.
They divorced over 30 years ago and are on friendly terms now. Whatever he did she has clearly forgiven him so I don't expect her to vilify him in the film. I can see her still wanting to protect him and she doesn't seem the type to victimize herself as a battered wife. She will probably portray a heated argument between them with Sean throwing an object towards a wall or hitting an object. According to the post-it notes of scenes, the film will show Sean assaulting the paparazzi and Madonna visiting him in jail. It's in the thread The Biopic; Untitled  **Spoilers**.

The boy in the blue jacket is Dontay Tc5. Oliver Sanchez is in the red pants and his brother Adolfo Sanchez is the guy squatting. The boy in front of Daze is Timmy. I don't recognize the girl squatting but that's not Lady Pink. Here's a pic of Lady Pink in 1983.

That picture on 42nd Street looks like it was taken the same day at the black & white Beth Baptiste shoot in 1983. Daze spoke about it years ago:
These photos were from a photo shoot by Beth Baptiste. I was invited to be a part of the shoot by Debi Mazar, who was a really good friend at the time. Debi was close to Madonna (for a while she served as her personal makeup artist and even went on tour with her) I was also friends with Madonna, as well as Adolpho Sanchez, Timmy, and Dontay.
We were all part of the New York City downtown club scene. Going to the Roxy every Friday, Danceteria during the week, hanging at the Fun Gallery and going to openings every night.
I think what Beth was trying to show was how diverse the scene was.
The shoot took place on the street in Hell’s Kitchen, pretty far west. Madonna was not yet a big star. She just had one single out called “Everybody,” that’s it.
We were all trying to make our way in the big world, trying to navigate through a scene that was sometimes difficult. We would all go on to become successful in some way.
Obviously Madonna eventually became an icon.

Well, she’s a writer, not an actor. She doesn’t live on camera, let alone have her working process filmed and shown to anyone on Instagram.
Even Erin looks awkward in those videos too, because she refers to herself as an introvert. Some people are meant to be behind the camera, not in front of it.
Mind you, this isn’t the first time Diablo spoke about her writing process with Madonna, the previous times she was very positive about it.

Well, some people are shy in front of the camera. And Diablo could be one of them.
I don't think it’s a PR stunt 'cause she's not attached to the project anymore. And it sounds more like she really appreciated her time with M. All of her collaborators talk about Madonna's work ethic, so the fact that she's actually mentioning it means something authentic to me.

So much for people (mostly Madonna's own fans) thinking that Diablo quit because Madonna was too difficult to work with. It's normal for films to have multiple writers and to go through revisions. Diablo did her job, they turned in their draft, and she moved on to her next project.

I'm sure there will be some embellishments. No biopic is ever 100% accurate and the movie needs to have a flow but there's a difference between dramatizing a situation and defaming someone's character. Not that Ike Turner was a model citizen, but the writers and producers for What's Love Got to Do With It clearly had an agenda to villainize him more than necessary and sanitize Tina's character. It makes for a good Hollywood movie but as someone who is a fan of Ike & Tina Turner's discography as a duo and has read both of their autobiographies, the movie makes them look like caricatures. Angela Bassett and Laurence Fishburne did great with what they were given, but the movie does not show why Ike & Tina Turner were regarded as one of the best live acts or how they broke racial barriers with their music. There's not much about Tina's songwriting (she wrote many songs other than "Nutbush City Limits"), nothing about the various record labels Ike started to release music for singers in his band (Jimi Hendrix was briefly in his band too), nothing about their Bolic Sound recording studio and owning their own music.
I hope with Madonna's movie that her personal life doesn't overshadow her groundbreaking career. I also hope since she has had two co-writers that she has allowed herself to be shown in a realistic light.

Oscar-winning screenwriter Diablo Cody “still can’t believe” she worked with Madonna, telling ABC Audio it was “a dream come true” to co-write her idol’s biopic.
The Queen of Pop announced in September 2020 that she would be directing her own biopic, and tapped Cody to co-write the script with her. According to Madge, the movie is a “happy, sad, mad, crazy, good, bad and ugly” story of her rise to stardom.
“I still can’t believe that’s how I was able to spend my summer,” Cody said of the experience. “She’s incredible! I don’t think I’ve ever met anybody with a work ethic like that before.”
“Madonna is just on another level,” the Juno writer continued. “I can’t really say that much about [the movie] but I can say that I’m profoundly grateful for the experience.”

Madonna confirmed during her first Instagram Live with Diablo Cody that Andy Warhol will be in the film. She said: "We do talk about Andy [Warhol], and Keith [Haring], and Jean-Michel Basquiat and Martin Burgoyne and the whole coming up as an artist in Manhattan, downtown, Lower East Side in the early '80s." She described Warhol's dialogue in the script as "monosyllabic."
I watched the Andy Warhol Diaries and I noticed that Madonna isn't mentioned by name. There was a flash of a few pictures of her and I believe a short clip of her performing on the Top of the Pops. Even in the Basquiat episode, their relationship is not mentioned. She is mentioned a bit in the actual book but I never got the impression that Andy was really close to Madonna. He was close to Basquiat and Keith, and she was also close to them. Even Martin seemed closer to Andy than her. The mentions of Madonna in his diary are of them being at the same events or gatherings with other people but he doesn't talk about hanging out with her alone as a friend. I've never even seen a photo of them together, although he took photos of her. Andy attended her wedding as Martin's date, he didn't even get his own invite.
Madonna said Basquiat introduced her to Andy so maybe that's what she'll show in the film. She also recalled them all hanging out at a restaurant. I'm intrigued to know how the casting is going for the biopic. There will be quite an eclectic group of people in this film.

I saw a new Basquiat book today at a store for the new exhibition Jean-Michel Basquiat: King Pleasure. I skimmed through the book and I saw a page about Madonna. Basquiat's sisters and his stepmother (who wasn't married to his father Gerard but they were together for decades until his death and his sisters refer to her as their stepmother)  share their memories of Madonna and there are 2 rare Polaroid photos of her. I took a picture of the page with the flash off because there was security all around and I didn't want to seem suspicious. The book looks good, I might buy it later when I see the new exhibition. It's in New York City so I think Madonna might go see it. She took her children to see the Basquiat exhibition in London a few years ago and since she's making her own biopic, this might be some more #research.

I remember hearing that Jean-Michel and Madonna were dating. It was very matter-of-fact. After that I would party extra hard to "Everybody" LOL.

    His father's partner Nora said:
It was Thanksgiving in the early 1980s, Jean-Michel was on the phone with Gerard, inviting us for dinner. Several calls later he found a restaurant and made a reservation at One Fifth Avenue. Gerard, Jeanine, and I went to the restaurant, and Jean-Michel was already there with Madonna and some friends. (We didn't know who Madonna was at the time). He knew I liked vodka gimlets, so everybody was drinking vodka gimlets. He was very thoughtful and charming. We had a lovely dinner, after which there was the usual fight between Jean-Michel and Gerard about who would pay the bill. After dinner we went to his apartment on Crosby Street to hang out. It was a lovely occasion I will always remember.

    Basquiat's sister Jeanine said:
I remember the night that we (Papa, Nora and I) met Madonna. It was the only time I saw her. We went to dinner at the restaurant One Fifth Avenue. Jean-Michel introduced us to his girlfriend: "This is Madonna. And she has a song out right now." I had no idea who she was at the time, but he showed us her first single "Everybody." After dinner we went to his loft on Crosby Street. While we were there Madonna asked if I knew how to do the popular dance at the time, because I was a teenager. I did—I showed her how to do "the Webo."
