There’s a huge difference between an estate handling reissues and an artist curating it. Artists are generally more selective and partial to what’s being release because of their personal connection to the projects. The estate just puts it all out there indiscriminately to make as much money as possible.
And you're singling out Prince. But what about Michael Jackson. His releases have been severely botched to the point where they’re comical.

I’d rather they take the time they need (a year, two, four…) and get some definite expanded reissues, impeccably mastered and produced, with well curated bonus content, rather than throw the kitchen sink at us and get an average quality product Rhino often puts out.

I really wish they released on this compilation the edit created for the promo tour that includes the bridge as well…

Yes that’s true. But back then she was in touch with the market and ahead of trends. Now she’s lagging behind.
And most of it was done through her art not by exposing herself daily on social media.
I mean let’s compare the interviews she was doing in the 90s where she was relaxed candid and smart. Dressed in amazing appropriate outfits and looking gorgeous. And then fast forward to MadameX. Where she did a few interviews looking ridiculous constricted in those corsets and being so incredibly off putting.
I mean it started with the British accent in the early 2000s and her credibility went downhill from there.
I don’t know. I think she should just come across more genuine and grown up. Like when she had that Billboard Awards speech a few years ago. Now that’s someone everyone will pay attention to.

I think if Madonna opened the vault tomorrow and released on digital every official song/remix, every demo, every unreleased track/remix, some people would still be bitching!
“But… where is the LAP Australian radio edit?!?” 😂

They should release this with a cute video and some remixes and a limited pink vinyl. I think it would do really well for her.
Personally I hate it and would never play it but it’s really catchy and fun for the summer

    What I’m hoping is
2022 - Erotica and Everyobdy anniversary reissues
2023 - spring Ray Of Light and summer Madonna in the fall in conjunction with biopic release.
Im pretty sure LAP will get a 35th anniversary reissue in 2024.
I seriously doubt they’ll do more than two major releases per year because the average consumer will not spend that much on boxsets and variants and merchandise

Yeah absolutely. I feel like they’ll try a few different strategies the first couple years to see how the market responds and probably that will decide the long term release schedule.
In any case, we won’t have all the reissues put out before at least 2030…

I think a fall release for the movie in 2023 is totally doable. If the production is going smooth and Madonna doesn’t take 5 years editing it like with her tours. It looks like the production is moving along and a year is more than enough for a biopic to be completed and ready for release.

At this point her only chance at success is if she cleans up her image and becomes a more demure older legacy act. And of course delivers music that’s commercially viable.
But as long as she has her tits out on instagram and filters her face to look 26 and keeps up with the trends of young hip artists nobody will take her seriously even if she makes the best music ever.
she needs to start showing her age and longevity and be proud of it and demand respect for that. And find a more unique identity as she used to have
