Can‘t you just accept and respect that she is also a human being and not a perfect robot. She set the standard very very high in the 80‘s, 90‘s and Millenium. She is 63, soon 64, does anyone have an idea what sacrifices and efforts someone has to do or go through to be constantly on top (whatever that means). Of course she is no longer the same as she was 10 years ago even 2 years ago, we all change, we all get older, we all do good and bad decisions. We all grow. It‘s not up to us to make her decisions. She makes her decisions. She may have a problem getting older, so what? Everyone has issues. She may drink too much wine or whatever, so what? Life is not always easy, especially when the world is getting crazier every day. Who does not need an escape from time to time. Maybe she has some other issues too, so what as I said at the beginning, she is a human being.

by the way I have to get used to a couple of things as well since a couple of months. Not so much a big fan of constant filters since months and her ageing complex (my opinion) but I respect and admire her and I am grateful she is still alive. Let‘s get used to another Madonna, less „perfect“, „older“ „crazier“ „less in perfect shape“ (no judgments)……

It's all simpler than you make it seem:
    1) Surprise! She is getting more clumsy with age - it is perfectly logical and normal and it will happen to all of us, if we grow old. In the case of Madonna it is more difficult to accept because we have seen her being a superwoman her entire life and seeing her decline hurts us.
    2) She has put on weight - it's not a scary thing, but being accustomed to her athletic body from the last few decades, the new one draws attention.
    3) Styling doesn't do her any favors. She's gained weight (so what?) and now has a fake ass. Not every garment suits her. Because it is one thing to wear a risky model and another to make you look like a circus tent.
    4) It is not ageism. But that obsession with rubbing her ass on Maluma in every chorus of the song is ridiculous. Yeah, he's sexy, but it's not transgressive, it's not provocative and it doesn't look sexy. And with this I'm not saying that you can't be sexy at 64, I'm just saying that it's not necessary to put your partner's ass in the package every 30 seconds.
But to make short a long story... The real problem here is that Madonna has given us 35 years of flawless performances and we're not going to accept anything less than excellence coming from her. The question is; What do you prefer? To see her lower the bar or stop perfoming altogether?

Sorry but I must say that out loud. If anybody in the past was pointing out her age you were all like "oh no, ageism, what's the matter with her age?" and now you're making excuses and saying "she's a 63 years old woman, what do you expect?". Make you mind! Embrace her age or don't use it as an excuse only in case when it is convenient for you.
And I will say one more thing - and I'm prettty sure most of you will agree with me. The age is not the problem. The detoriation of physical activity is not the problem. Because this is NATURAL - nothing lasts forever. You can give examples of Tina Turner, Cher, etc. being better or anything, but the thruth is that our bodies are DIFFERENT. Somebody can be super athletic at the age of 80 and the other will be worse at the age of 50 - AND THAT'S NORMAL COZ WE ARE NOT ALL THE SAME. The problem however is about being CRINGY and the performance was a cringe-fest at its finest. And it doesn't matter if she's 40, 50, 60, 70. Some things are cringy, amateur, not well-rehearsed and that was one of them.

I just don’t know. Clearly she’s done provocative performances throughout her career, but her recent fixation on thrusting and violently humping people and inanimate objects seems oddly attention seeking, even for Madonna.

Madonna does what she wants. She's not gonna listen to anyone, except maybe her kids, but when you look at the tragic state of Lola that's not much comfort.

The dress is fine. It's her ass. Nothing's gonna look good with that. Take it out and she's fine. The dress is fine. Get rid of the ass!

I don't know what to say... I loved the stadium vibe, last time it was the Super Bowl 2012 if I'm not wrong. She is stealling the show somehow, all the newspapers were talking about her, sometimes more than about Maluma.
Voice, shape, energy... that was something that she always had ups and downs at it was clear that with age it could only become worst. But I was hoping her to be smart enough to know how to adapt that, and keep going if she wanted. She doesn't look coordinated anymore, she can't find the rythm, or the cues or anything. I said some weeks ago that I was officially worried about her, and as some members here said already: I can't imagine a tour or another promotional campaing in this state. I had the same feeling with the MTV awards in September...
I praise her way of trying to continue, her feeling young etc... But sometimes less is more. I would prefer her being happy out of social media and counting her coins than trying so hard for EVERYTHING.

At this point I wish she retired after the last Madame X Tour night...

Sure we can make a comparison! Depeche Mode has been around since the early 80s; they have released 14 studio albums, they were signed to Sire Records for some time, and they haven't had a recognizable global hit in ages. The most important difference? They have treated their back catalogue with a lot of enthusiasm and attention to detail. Their boxsets series are just another way to keep fans and new fans alike excited about their work and they have been doing it since, at least, the mid 2000s. Why Madonna hasn't paid respect to her back catalogue is beyond your criticism of my opinion or mine about yours. It's been 8 freaking months since madonna.com announced the new project. People move on, you know? And Madonna is once again LATE.

I would like someone to leak all of them, it is maybe bad to say but imagine...pro shot of the surprise songs all over the world from the RH Tour. Holiday, Frozen & Dress You Up 2009 available. Confessions exclusives etc. really, I would die if something like this will happen! Better than leak albums earlier I would rather prefer unreleased concerts. Imagine have the full show filmed of the RIT in Paris or the 14th Lisbon show...what a dream...

I think both Fireboy DML and 070 Shake are very cool talented artists, but I would like it better if she did new songs with them or at least a remix of a different older song instead of Frozen again.

If she is able to put on a great show it would be a great idea, but she would need to work hard again on her physical shape, her vocal shape, new setlist, new ideas..I think by Rebel Heart tour, even before, she was running out of new ideas: la isla bonita, vogue, like a prayer, religion, a folky part in the middle, again and again...But do question is: Does she still has the passion or the drive to work hard in order to give her best again? I hope so. If she wants it, I think she can.

I also think that she's not on the same level as she was during the golden touring years from 2001 till 2012.
Kevin Antunes ruined her live credibility with those cheap drums and karaoke versions, sometimes with low pitched backing vocal tracks like a cheap youtube filtered remix.
It was ok during S&S, average during MDNA but uninspired and lazy at RHT and MX.
The s&m look that is repetitive since Hard candy is uninspired right now too. It doesn't look clever in 2022.
And let's not start with the late starts etc...
Her touring reputation, the last excelent thing that she had after some poor decisions, is bad right now. That's why I was asking if someone is thinking or excited about a new tour after 3 years, because at this point it's difficult to think what's next...
I would be happy if Madame X is the last tour, instead of making the things worst. A movie or something different is not what I expected after 3 years, but considering all the previous points... maybe is the best thing.

I think it would be wise to let go of any chart dreams for Madonna.
Whilst her fight against ageism is noble and right, what 12-30 year old really has any interest in that?
When you are in the throws of youth do you really care that a 64 yr old pop star who's had everything has an issue with being overlooked for younger more relevant artists?
I'm not saying it's right or wrong I'm just saying that's the way it is.
She comes across as either wildly immature on socials or has an axe to grind about something. There's very little in between a lot of the time. Yes there's been some highly edited serves picture wise but aside from being a fascinating insight to the latter days of the worlds biggest star, she's sadly nothing more than a curio for the majority of the record buying / streaming public. They just....don't have an opinion on her cause she really holds no relevance to them.
Her last sizeable solo hit in truth was Hung Up when todays 30 year old would have been what? 12/ 13 just as that generation would have been becoming financially valid in terms of music buying / engagement then she's largely  faded into the background or seen as the older woman who came for Gaga.
As for 30-40 they're in the work years busy living their lives and having kids (outside of the gays)..and when you're grinding hard to make ends meet in some of the toughest economic times in recent history (the last 15 years have been economically disastrous), one of the richest women in the world bemoaning on her socials or flaunting her extreme wealth, doesn't go down too well.
40+ers will generally  remember her nostalgically but wonder "what the hell has she done to herself". I can't tell you how many people who I know who have loved her and who are sane reasonable people with a libertarian view, say this. They will want a slice of nostalgia but wouldn't be able to hum a bar of anything past 2005 and will likely only remember the last 15 years of her career for The Brits fall, Eurovision, Her ever morphing body and the Gaga comments.
Most 60+ ers will see a peer to whom they can no longer relate.
I'm just not sure who Madonna thinks her audience is anymore. There will always be pockets of girls and gays who shout "go on girl" " good for you" "live your best life" "yass queen" and a bunch of people who respect her choices and the voice she has given gay people, the AIDS crisis and female empowerment...but let's be honest. Madonna has started playing to the hardcore fans who buy multiple tickets in the front rows of many of her concerts...and that..isn't the general public. Whilst I have no judgement on that crowd at all..free world, you do you etc...that type of engagement will never transpose in to hitting the wider GP's pockets and hearts.
Her socials are nothing short of damaging to her career at this point and while I personally love and adore her and will ALWAYS support and follow her til the end, I am under no illusions. The general view of her is far far far from my own. More often she is simply passed on as uninteresting and "not for me" or "ugh she's at it again"
While she is on the right side of history for many many many reasons her commercial viability is......sort of lost in the wilderness a little. Bands like The Bee Gees / ABBA / Queen / Elton / Cher / Fleetwood Mac, some of whom who are still commercially active, have a great like-ability factor and the focus is largely on their past endeavours.
I think the biopic really is her last chance to turn a tidal wave of public opinion around and in truth that's the only way to commercial success. Were in an era of like-ability more than ever....and if you don't LIKE or LOVE or FOLLOW someone..you simply don't appear in the world (socials) therefore you don't exist.
The world has changed and I think most of the next chapters are just for us until her reappraisal happens and the bowler hat hits the stage floor for the last time.

Is Madonna really that much of an innovator? being hugely influential does not always imply innovation. As far as I am aware, Madonna has always created records that were in keeping with trends and never brought anything musically innovative to the table. Her persona's and music videos are heavily influenced by other sources and the idea's she expressed in terms of sexuality and boundary pushing did not originate with her because they are human nature. Madonna was the superstar that popularized these idea's and trends which has nothing to do with innovation. She reminds me of Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson in some ways, both talented and hugely influential artists, neither of which can be called innovators.
