luchoypx reacted to TheGoth in Why did Take a Bow miss the top ten in the UK? (#16)
I was very disappointed with how the single was released. They didn't utilise any of the gorgeous images from the video on the front cover but instead recycled from Secret. The track listings were boring and could've done with some really great remixes by David Morales, Todd Terry and / or Frankie Knuckles who all were adept at transforming ballads into dancefloor smashes. Last, but not least, a previously unreleased track would've been a nice bonus too.

The Danny Tenaglia remixes were fantastic of Human Nature - loved the Runway Club Mix and Love Is The Nature Mix
Wish she would have used him again for remixes. Think she asked him to remix Human Nature after she fell out with Junior Vasquez over the If Madonna Calls record he did - am glad we got these Danny Tenalglia mixes and not more Junior mixes as brilliant as they were for Secret and Bedtime Story

Many older fans want a "classic" M album in the line of LAP, Erotica,ROL or Confessions. Just M with mainly one and not too many other producers, cohasive etc.
On the other hand, record companies want success in terms of streaming, trening etc.
An "classic" M album would not make the latter happen, no matter how good. Her main demographic that want a classic M album does not stream that much.
So, in this given time, if I was her creative consultant and got to decide her next steps with her I would:
Produce the collab album with worlds most dtreamed artist, produced by top producers of today like Max Martin and his crew Ilya, Shellback etc. Throw in Stuart also....5-6 singles...with succesfzll artist of today, good contemporary songs, get those streaming numbers....
Then do her bio movie...
And with it release a purely Madonna album, max 12 songs telling her life story or echoing pivota momemts in her life or just being inspired by them...M and Pat Leonard with clever choice as a producer ...more classic pop, Madonna melodie lines, even more cinematic songs...
Many of the newer fans that got to know her now bering fearured with their favorite artist would be unteressted in the movie and get to know her catalog and also got into song from the "movie album" because so many people fall in love with music combined with powerful and impatful scenes in movies or series...and "older" fans would have their "classic" solo M and collabs as an extra....

luchoypx reacted to Blue Jean in Human Nature original chart run
Bedtime Story barely did any better. I think they were both just very left of field choices after Take a Bow. If they’d gone with Don’t Stop and Forbidden Love she’d probably have had a few more top 10 hits. But that would have been so boring and predictable so I’m glad that didn’t happen. Imagine if Don’t Stop had been a hit, she’d have included it on the Celebration Tour and we’d all be singing La di da di in 2024

luchoypx reacted to Blue Jean in MADONNA AND WARNER MUSIC GROUP ANNOUNCE MILESTONE, CAREER-SPANNING PARTNERSHIP!!
I think it is more that working on the movie inspired her to do everything that followed. She was listening to old demos through that process, she started connecting with people from the past more, she released some new remixes of her old songs and then she did Finally Enough Love. Then she was celebrating the anniversary of Sex/Erotica. This all led to the tour. So while it may not have been pre-planned out the movie being put on hold had a huge bearing on what has happened.
I personally believe the main reason these supposed box sets were put aside is because she was busy and focused on the tour. It’s the type of project she can do any time, even if it’s 10 years from now it makes no difference. There is no urgency for it. Especially since so many fans have been buying up all the other things they’ve put out. They are making their money from that deal and that’s what matters.

Let It Will Be (Paper Faces Remix)
Music / Sylvester - You Make Me Feel Mighty Real
Forbidden Love sample bugs me because I recognise the disco loop. I don't believe is a full song using that sample but Stuarts own sampling with a beat on the base and vocals over. I thought it could be something he use on his Rhymes Digitales or Daft punk, but it's not. I don't believe is Jackson 5 sample either.
I remove the vocals to try to get it better but still I don't . Anyone try to guess is here

luchoypx reacted to Aiwa08 in WHICH CELEBRATION TOUR SHOW would you like to have official DVD/BLU RAY ?
Rio. That show has made history. She performed in front of one and a half million people. And she was magnificent. Anyway, even as an extra disc, the Rio show should be officially released by Warner.

luchoypx reacted to Debord in When was the last time Madonna was really relevant to the general public?
There are a lot of considerations in this. I think folk would instinctively use 'relevant' to mean 'doing really well in the charts' but the charts have become less and less relevant and I don't think most folk pay much attention to them. Music is also far more fragmented than ever before and even with big stars like Taylor and Beyonce, loads of the 'general public' barely know their music aside from big hits from years ago. Neil Tennant from Pet Shop Boys was speaking the other day and was asked about Taylor Swift and said he always found himself wondering 'what's Taylor Swift's Billie Jean?' which I think is saying basically this.
Madonna will always be 'relevant' cos she's one of the last of the megastars from an era where they just totally dominated culture and had a string of hits that were impossible to avoid. Folk know who she is, even if they don't actively listen to her. But in a more prosaic sense of relevancy the tour definitely helped - she was all over the UK media when the tour started here and the lunchtime magazine show This Morning had a whole episode dedicated to her the day before it kicked off.

Having one of the biggest hits in US and one of the most visited worldwide tour doesn't really sound like less relevant to general public to me, just sayin'

luchoypx reacted to Curtains in Unreleased Music Videos
I don't think that there ever was a video that was shot and went completely unreleased. The only thing that comes to my mind is the unreleased S.E.X. backdrop video for the Rebel Heart Tour. Otherwise some alternate edits went unreleased like Dark Ballet, but that happens a lot with music videos in general. However, some tracks that were supposed to have videos never did, and some concepts were completely changed.
-A music video was initially planned for "Angel", but it was later cancelled due to multiple Madonna videos already airing and competing for broadcast time. A montage of videos was made instead and aired in the UK.
-"Bad Girl" was initially going to be the second single of Erotica, promoted with an X-rated video, but the singles schedule switched after the lead single didn't sell as well as they wanted to. "Deeper and Deeper" was instead released as the second single and by the time "Bad Girl" was released, the concept for the video completely changed.
-"Be Careful (Cuidado Con Mi Corazon)" was planned to be the second single from Ricky Martin's album with a video and remixes to promote it. Since Madonna was too busy at the time to shoot a music video, the song was never released as a single.
-Back when Warner wanted to release "Amazing" as Music's fourth single, they planned to use Madonna's live performance from the Drowned World Tour as the music video to promote it. However, Madonna wanted "Impressive Instant" as a single, so the song was cut from the setlist of the tour and neither of them were released.
-"Nothing Fails" was heavily rumored to have a music video planned to be shot in Israel with Kabbalah imagery (which her representatives thought could have put her life at risk). At the end, no video was shot for the song.
-The original video for "Hung Up" was set to be shot by David LaChapelle in a documentary style, similar to his movie Rize in which some of the dancers from the final "Hung Up" video appear. However creative differences between Madonna and him led this concept to be scrapped. The final video that we have was directed by Johan Renck.
-Madonna really wanted Quentin Tarantino to shoot a music video for Gang Bang, but this never materialized.
-During the time "Superstar" was supposed to be the 4th single of MDNA, Madonna was going to shoot a music video for it around October 2012. She was going to wear a "Terror Bride" costume in it, which she was really proud of, but was advised to not wear it as it would put her life at risk and at the end, no video was ever made. Superstar was instead released as a promo single.
-"Devil Pray" was at some point considered to be a single during the Rebel Heart era (ended up being a promo single) and a video script was written by Joseph Kahn which involved a young Madonna and an older Madonna. No video was ever shot at the end.
-After popular demand, it seemed that Madonna was on board to shoot a music video for "Faz Gostoso", with her putting the hashtag #waitingforanitta on many instagram posts, despite initially saying that she had no budget left for the Madame X era videos at the time. In the end, no video was shot.

Please, stop with this "rent a rapper" racist nonsense.
Madonna has worked with rappers for over 30 years and has been doing features on every project for 20 years straight now because she likes it. Get over it!
