To be honest some Madonna fans are not much better, if you have been eg. on MadonnaNation you know how much some fans bash other artists like Gaga....

Devil Won't Recognise You. Such a gorgeous track, the production and vocals are so beautiful.
Let me just say as well that this album is MASSIVELY underrated by fans. Not a single dud track, every single one is great.

One of Madonna's best albums and eras, the beginning of her Imperial era inbetween the 80s and the 90s. The next in line to get a remaster at this point. Will the stars align for us this time, and is there a possibility we'll get something more than an Instagram post? Fingers crossed, but until the time arrives, let's post our appreciation for this great album!

I might cook up a deluxe tracklist later, for an ultimate edition of sorts. I used to hate doing that, but 30 years later, this album deserves it!

I'm not really an audophile, but what bothers me most about the album is the 'sharpness' of her vocals. Obviously, they had to rush release the tracks so ended up using a lot of old vox, but I really think she should've done her vocals on many of the tracks. Living For Love, for example, sounds too 'screechy', and would've benefited from a softer vocal take. Even on the Diplo Final Mix of BIM, which is actually quite good, you can hear some sort of glitch in the background around 1:10.
This production issue is something that has plagued Madonna since MDNA. I am a huge fan of that album, but the vocals on Turn Up the Radio seem so bad in comparison to this remix, where they are a LOT cleaner:
You can notice it particularly during "and the noise of a maddening crowd" at 1:24. I actually use this version in my MDNA playlist.

Do we have to over comment on this, as obvious as it is ? "God is a woman" is the title, Madonna vocally plays God as a Woman in the interlude, in the #metoo times. It's a feminist statement inside the video clip of a feminist anthem. No christianity nor theology involved, it's a fucking feminist thing in pop costume. Janelle Monae did it two months ago, and she's far from being the only one.
Who run the world ? Girls.

It's a terrific album to me, personally, and works in the storyline of the breakdown of her marriage, from Hard Candy to MDNA and then Rebel Heart. Superstar is the only track that is kinda poor, but the rest are all pretty killer. Gang Bang remains the ultimate breakup song, whilst the sadness that tinges Turn Up the Radio is nothing to be ignored. Great album, far from being one of her worst, and I do hope it gets the appreciation it deserves soon.

I've never done LSD, but listening to music on ecstasy is very fun.
People judge drugs too much. As long as you're not overdoing it and are doing it in a safe environment with trustworthy people, then it's okay.

You don't have to walk on eggshells, you just have to not be a racist. People being hurt by something doesn't mean that they're weak and have no backbone, it means they're human non-sociopathic beings.

Having a reference doesn't mean you can ignore all other meanings of something.
The n-word comes from Latin, where it had one g and simply meant the color black. That doesn't mean you can use it, just because you're thinking of the Latin meaning.

According to the people who first talked about this, the pictures seemed to be more straight up blackface than the black Madonna but I don't know if that's true, and I'm not sure an album such as Hard Candy has any meaningful connection to that kind of religious imagery. It would've come across like "Madonna does black music with black producers and is portraying herself as a black person doing something that is historically racist". It would've come across like an edgelord idea, her career would've been over then and there.

It's a rather harmless and silly song, which is why I dislike it. The song is the definition of filler - it's completely harmless and does absolutely â€‹nothing. The album wouldn't suffer had it been removed.

One of my favourite remixers. I love how he actually transforms the songs, as opposed to (far too) many producers who simply slap the vocals over a DJ beat and leave it as that - or worse, use a fragment of vocals.
