aleex123 reacted to Régine Filange in Madonna's team started fixing her Spotify page (finally)?
So the Celebration version of Papa Don't Preach (~20 million plays) was connected with the studio version of Papa Don't Preach (~45 million plays) and now the total streams of the song is at 65M. I can't believe this is FINALLY happening. Hope Like a Prayer and Material Girl are next, both will have over 200 million plays if they do the same thing to them.
Celebration literally steals all the streams from few of her studio albums, and don't let non-fans discover the album tracks of each album, if they fix that and let Celebration die this will change.

Okay, one of y'all must be following me on Vimeo, where I upload my comparison videos, because I don't think Madonna has an official-official Vimeo account.
So far, the videos in that account are shitty upscales of the debut's music videos.
Come on now, step forward whoever is running that account now. ??

Since Y'ALL MISSED MY POST I have to share it here because I am obsessed with it.  And I want you all to be too.  I envisioned the final ITG rehearsal from RIT to have the pre-recorded vocals she did for "now I know you're mine", and I have created it using the live guest rehearsal version that was showcased on news stations pre-RIT, and am super happy with the results. Sharing it here because I love it so. Sorry leakers. Had to.

THE ORIGINAL VIDEO (PROMO ONLY, NTSC) This is the real one (the original colors, the original contrast, the original audio):

Remember: this video in an old CRT TV looks flawless. It was mastered to be seen in a CRT TV. That is the reason why Madonna/Warner needs to recover the original negatives and make a new master in HD. The old masters were created for old CRT TV.

I don’t understand why everyone is so damn whiny!!
I work with video for a living and this is a great upscale (the first decent one we got). It’s true that they went a bit crazy with the smoothing but nothing too bad. It looks great on my phone screen and also on my huge HD projector screen.
The video is meant to be somewhat blurry and the digital transfer is not the best so unless they retransfer from the original tapes this is as good as an upscale video can get.
Also they did go through the trouble of finding the original version which has much more detail then the contrasty one that first surfaced on the Immaculate DVD.
Unfortunately they used a reconstructed edit for the audio instead of the original video version

People are saying this remaster was terrible, I guess they expected a non-blurry remaster, but tbh that is the aesthetic of the video, and it fits with the theme, I really don't see the deal with it.
At least Madonna's face is clearer and not so bright in some scenes.

    Thank you.
The video was always intended like this. Remember how it looked on our old tv screens, even with the low resolution you could feel the artsy, photographic blur.

Say what they will, but, this is one of Madonna's greatest videos artistically, musically, and, what's more, it made people think and, imo, it didn't mean Madonna was satanic and/or didn't have morals, etc. It also didn't mean she or her music should be banned or boycotted. I feel the same to this day (and we can still learn from it now again) on anyone trying to ban music, books,  or shut people and their opinion up no matter what their thoughts, creed, religion, or color etc are..
‘Madonna told me she wanted to f*** a Black guy on the altar,’ claims Like a Prayer director
The 1989 music video was banned by the Vatican
The director of Madonna’s “Like a Prayer” music video, Mary Lambert, has revealed how the controversial release came to be made.
Madonna’s 1989 video featured the singer dancing in front of burning crosses, experiencing stigmata (the appearance of wounds in locations corresponding to the crucifixion of Jesus) and kissing a statue of a Black Jesus who comes to life in a church.
The video was banned by the Vatican, with Italian Roman Catholic historian Roberto de Mattei saying at the time: “The video is a blasphemy and insult because it shows immorals inside a church.”
Pope John Paul II also encouraged fans to boycott Madonna in Italy and not attend her Blond Ambition tour.
Reflecting on the video, Lambert told The Hollywood Reporter: “I wanted to explore the correlation between sexual ecstasy and religious ecstasy.”
She added that the Black Jesus character “came from Madonna telling me she wanted to ‘f*** a Black guy on the altar’”.
To which Lambert recalls replying: “Well, why not have it be a Black Jesus? Let’s just go all the way.”
Lambert said the burning crosses evoked “the idea of appropriation, that the Ku Klux Klan could take a cross, which is a holy symbol to a lot of people, and appropriate it in a way to instill fear and horror and promote race hatred”. She added: “I wanted to turn that on its head.”
Despite the controversy, “Like a Prayer” went on to be nominated for MTV Video Music Awards’ Video of the Year and has since been viewed over 163 million times on YouTube.
