I must say I am replaying Madame x these days and it was so much bettter than I remebered...

Funny enough, I was thinking lately how all Madonna's eras need a little time to put them in perspective, some of them make more sense in the context of her whole journey as a woman and as an artist.

Thanks for the video, it was new for me, so yeah, actually a nice surprise and a reminder of how good she can still sound and how her natural performer skills are still there.
My question is: why this wasn't even mentioned then in the Medellín live meltdown topic, in the middle of all the narrative of how she's been "erratic" and "lost" for 3? 5? years? My point there was exactly this: that (with age limitations, of course) she still got it and we have plenty of examples of that, the "Medellin" Billboard performance or the "Madame X Tour" being another good ones.
I just wish some of you simply didn't choose to forget it and only focus on the negative when she's just have a "not that perfect" or a rough day. She had those too "back in the day" - imagine the meltdowns if we all had been here after the VMAs 1998, for instance.

The Harlem performance of Dark Ballet shows how many things you can do if you get rid of backing tracks and album version sounds, going back to live instrumentation.
The Joan of Arc section makes more sense in this jazzy rendition.

Maluma wins in life

To lift spirits and remind ourselves of the power of Madonna, I want to share this particular performance as it reminded me that she is capable of being a powerful performer even in the least sophisticated of environments. Her sense of humor, her poise, pushing her vocals to the limit - all on display here with both determination and irreverence just a few months ago - serve as a timely reassurance for those of us who were affected by the less than spectacular performance we witnessed this past weekend. It will also hopefully reassure anyone who felt triggered by the hypercritical tone many of us expressed in a state of shock and disappointment that it has nothing to do with her weight. Madonna is still capable of so much more. When she uses her talent skillfully, she can still leave me awestruck. Sometimes we get caught up in the madding crowd and emotions take control. I think it’s important for us all to be able to express those feelings in a safe space, and I feel that this particular forum still remains the most open and supportive outlet online. So thank you to all those who maintain it, and all those who participate…even those who get a little too personal with the insults! 😜
 
Going forth, I personally really just want to focus on how extraordinary the journey has been watching Madonna evolve from triumph to triumph, as well as always adapting to adversity and growing from it throughout her incredible career. I am resigning myself to hope for the very best, knowing that no matter what lies ahead, the stellar body of work we have had the pleasure and honor of experiencing is reason enough to always be grateful. She continues to lift others up, and so it is indeed true that we all owe her the same no matter how she wishes to live or express herself.

Three times she has been great there.
In 2011, she was elegant as hell, in a dress that very few people could wear because it highlights every curve and you must be very lean. But she wore it divinely and with class.

In 2013 she was one of the few who represented the punk theme. And she was so cool.

In 2015 on the other hand, the dress wasn't anything amazing, but she wore it perfectly and most importantly, she looked stunning. Maybe she had never looked so "perfect" and youthful, not even at 30.

Now she has aged, physically she is completely different and very little slender. And she no longer has good stylists to advise her, but still I would be curious to see her.

But that's the point... SHE'S FUCKING MADONNA! She's doing this for 40 years now. She should be able to perform "Music" of all songs with her arms and legs tied! And to me, that's the main point about last night.
She drew a line of quality standards, of what we should expect from her! And at some point, for whatever reason, those standards dropped, that scale changed… That happened to Janet too! And most of us (myself included) have a hard time understanding this and adapting to the new reality which leads to frustration.
It's always painful to see THE BIGGEST PERFORMERS IN THE WORLD being just average. And it's fine, I guess… they're not machines! They've done it all already... But it's hard when we look back, it's impossible not to compare them with themselves.
I said this here a few days ago... I truly believe something happened inside of her after the knee injury in 2019/2020. She spent her WHOLE life being perfect. The work out. The discipline. Rehearsals. Controlling everything... And even so, something went out of control. The 30 years of being clean and working out weren't enough, her body failed her. IMAGINE THE FRUSTRATION?! 
So I guess she's taking things less serious these days AND THAT'S FINE! But I guess THE Madonna we all know and are used to can't exist without all those layers. Maybe, without all that discipline, she's just an ok performer... And for some reason, she can't even active "muscle memory" to bring that back on stage to perform 01 song randomly.

That was quite something to wake up to on a Sunday.. nice instrumental arrangement on Medellin tho.
However, I'm sure when she's ready to go back out with whatever her next project is, in front of her own audience, it won't be as much of a clown car into a dumpster fire as this--so I'm not too worried.

These photos make me particularly happy because we rarely see her in orange. She has said somewhere that it was her least favourite colour which disappointed me because I love it. This cardigan looks great on her. And those legs... damn. She would have looked much much better without the hideous sunglasses.
