I love how committed she has been to this era and its looks. All her last albums have been about her (Rebel Heart, MDNA, Hard Candy) but she really stuck with the Madame X persona.

I try to picture myself a few decades from now, when I find out that Madonna has passed. I don't think I would care much about a final record from her. But I would like some final words. It could be a poem or a recorded speech dragging every hater to hell or a cute little song. Something to cry along.
I hope and I'm afraid she'll be too old to provide full vocals for an album by then.

I don’t know whether she hates her back catalogue but she obviously wants to sell a certain image of herself these days. That’s why she ignores big pets of her back catalogue, especially songs from the 90s. 
She tries to keep up the image of Madonna, the sexy dance-artist. That’s why she keeps revisiting songs like Like A Virgin or Material Girl although she’s said more than once that she doesn’t like them. She seems to forget and wants people to forget that a good part of her career was based on mid-tempo tracks and ballads. Most of her hits between Justify My Love and Music have been mid- or down-tempo songs but she doesn’t want to perform them on tour. That’s why she sticks to a very limited part of her back catalogue, simply because it suits the image she wants to present best. At least that’s my impression. 

I check the calendar and say "oh, it's Madonna's birthday!". And then I move on

Am I the only one that kinda gets let down when something so great doesn't come straight from her and her close songwriters? She's smart enough to use all the elements but I would have loved it if Sky Fits Heaven and Ray of Light lyrics had been birthed by her.

Although I'm not completely in love with her hard voice on those Madonna tracks, I think Miley is the closest pop girl to M we can get in terms of being bad ass and magnetic.

I feel like Medellin has been a most devisive song. And the charm of it is that it's such a harmless track. Yet it caused so many meltdowns, mine included. It's such a suitable and mature single though and many fans enjoyed it.
Songs like Human Nature and Girl Gone Wild, on the other hand, somehow beg to be hated. They are naughty tracks, horny tracks. Not all fans are that.
