  1. I don't think she really did have a lot of choice in the ITG and Beautiful Stranger strategy. I believe that was all due to the record labels choices. And at the end of the day, it's about selling more albums, but in ITG case, the song never appeared on a released soundtrack.
  2. You clearly have no idea what "Easter Eggs" are. Even though many have explained quite thoroughly, you keep ignoring what it means. Why not google your inquiries before you start a thread that is clearly trying to start a "stan war". It's clear that's what you are doing here!
  3. Umm so I thought this was about the "Easter Eggs" Madonna supposedly was bringing us?
  4. I'm thinking some of you are forgetting that Burning Up has been something she worked on for a few years before her debut album. Just check out Stephen Bray's "Pre-Madonna" album. It was more punk rock in the beginning. Madonna was obviously not impressed with the versions that ended up on the original release. There are alternate version from the early 80's of "Burning Up". They all are pretty raw and obviously not suitable for her first album. The more rock version that ended up on the album as well as the re-issue of "First Album" is pretty great. But I'm quite favorable to all the versions. But I do know what is heard on "Pre-Madonna" isn't suitable for the first album.
  5. You're right. That was the explanation why the U.S. didn't get single releases. I get that concept, but I really do think BS and ITG definitely would have been top 5 on their own if not #1. In fact, I'm sure ITG would have been #1 for her.
  6. What are you talking about? "Every post that doesn't disagree with" you? Where? When? Show me ALL the examples! I may have reacted to someone you might have had a disagreement with, but trust me it has NEVER been about you! You are purely projecting, paranoid and delusional. Please leave me out of your drama. Quite rich coming from someone who wished "death" on myself and another member.
  7. Super Pop American Pie or You Must Love Me?
  8. Yeah, it was released everywhere but the U.S. It's amazing how successful it was compared to the U.S., the very subject of the song. My bet if the U.S. got a single release it would have done better than #29 on the Top 40 chart. Radio was the major player here, but that was short lived in the U.S.
  9. So true. It's definitely fan fiction based on the fact that the original press statement stated that it was a multi year deal and that Warner would start having the rights to her Interscope albums by 2025. And my guess, it won't be all three at the same time. There probably is a deal where the albums will be housed under Warners separately based on their original release dates. At the same time, she can do both. And I suspect for the rest of her career, Warner, she and her team will concentrate on her back catalog, but it won't mean there won't be new releases. I predict that the next NEW album release is gonna be huge, simply based on the fact that it has already been 5 years since her last new studio release. My bet; she will record something by the end of this year and in 2025, there is going to be a huge campaign on her 40 years in the business again, being 1985 was the year she became a world-wide success. They are going to probably piggy back off the Celebration Tour film release as well. I'll be curious how they will celebrate the 40th Anniversary of LAV as well this fall. It's the "calm before the storm", I believe.
  10. This is pretty true. Other than the U.S., it went top 10 in most countries. The song didn't have a single in the U.S, so that hurt the song. I'm actually shocked it got to top 20 in the Mainstream/top 40 charts because I don't recall any radio station ever playing that song on the radio. Though, I'm sure some of the bigger stations in the U.S. spun it enough the week it hit top 20. Songs like Into The Groove (while a big hit still), Beautiful Stranger and American Pie would have all done far better in the U.S. if they all had proper single releases.
  11. It was a beloved American classic. In most case, those who hated it, probably hated anything Madonna did, but there were many who felt her version was awful especially since it was a shorter version to the classic song. But who are we kidding, no top 40 radio station then or today would play a song that was seven minutes long. People are very protective to such classic songs. And I think Madonna knew that before she even recorded it herself. That is why she was hesitant herself in recording it. Rupert convinced her to do it for the film and she gave in. She was approached in 1998 as well.
  12. Radio (at least in the U.S.) had already bailed on her by the time of this release. The fact they played it for a week leading up to the Superbowl and dropped it, is pure ridiculous. It's a really catchy fun song in vein to some other past classics. (NOTE: I am not saying it's as great as her classics, just saying it has the same vibe). If radio kept playing it, it could have been a more genuine hit. They just didn't have interest and her team obviously shelled out the money to get it played then, but this is when a proper record company would have pushed it to be played beyond Superbowl. Warner most definitely would have pushed it in this case. I feel the same really happened with Bitch, I'm Madonna. She just didn't have a record company that was going to push any releases. And let's face it, that's how our corporate radio stations are run by now. It's all about the money. If they don't get paid, they ain't playing anyone.
  13. Ahh yes! I had forgotten that there were some vinyl editions with both singles that included "Ring My Bell". Thank you!
