For example I truly don’t care where the biopic starts and where it ends… we know everything and in the end we aren’t the core target for this movie… it’s going to be fun anyway
What I would truly love would be new music but if we aren’t getting any and getting a movie a movie it is I just hope we are well fed for the next twelve months…
I would love a mini series about the creative process behind every album and tour that I would consume like a junkie.
The movie is a product aimed towards the general audience and increasing her brand value awareness and equity and in the end a revaluation of her back catalogue in millions of dollars 💸
See this was such a fun post 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Anyway, I love the idea she's possibly revisiting the Biopic.  I can't express enough how I am excited for her to share HER story, rather have someone come up with a campy biopic that will only give us the surface of whom she is, which we already know.  At least, Madonna can dive into things that we may have never known. She'll be able to share things beyond the scenes and how she actually felt.  No one can do that better, but herself.  I don't get the apprehension. Whatever you think of her directing and acting in the past, it won't compare.  This will be more in vein of how she visioned her music videos, music and career.  She's proven more than not to do well in just being herself in films. The difference, she will be able to direct someone in her role to playout her experiences. Some we never new and will never know unless she told her story.  I'm glad this isn't being rushed either.  She's putting time into this.  She doesn't want to produce another fuddy duddy documentary of a musical act or a biopic that we've seen before. She knows she can't hold back and will have to share even the nitty gritty.  She isn't afraid to do that.  I have total faith this is going to be one of her great works to come. I can't wait!!!

There's just far too many important and  interesting things to fit into a film that we know about and probably loads more that she knows about that we don't that could go into the film. There could be an entire film for each era really

If only she did Candy Shop and Heartbeat right after Bitch I'm Madonna to do an ACTUAL ENCORE!!! (If her goal with THAT ENCORE was trolling her fans, she even would triple that, right? And imho it'd be an ENCORE MADE IN HEAVEN) Maybe she's saving them for the 13th tour so... (I only hope she reads me if she's still not thinking on that)
EDIT: 2 exhibitions to prove tis an ol' asking o' mine...

Per Wikipedia the single was released May 19, 1999.  I liked the song then and now.  Holds up just as well/is as fresh.   One of my favorite non studio album singles of hers.   Supposedly the song was about Andrew Byrd but I recall in a Rosie interview she said it was about someone trying to find love from a different generation or something like that.

It’s definitely though one of her songs I have the fondest memories of.  I was still pretty young in high school then.  The internet was around but I never really used it.  It was a total surprise seeing this video premiere out of the blue I think on VH1 back then.  I loved Austin Powers as well.  I still recall seeing the movie the weekend it came out with my then best friend.  The Larry King interview that year was my last remembrance of her before this.  I saw she went blonde again.  Sometimes I wonder if the social media age kills suspense like that?

Yeah she sort of cemented her status as a goddess to me with the video.  Mike Myers was a lucky guy 😁

What I love is that Madonna turned this song into a signature song despite it being a huge hit.

It happened at a time when things were starting to shift: if you didn't have a global marketing strategy, you'd miss charting in some (or many) countries because the conversation would be confused between what was heard on the radio, what was upfront in stores and what the fans knew little by little with the first online forums, websites and the most influential media like MTV.
1995 was the year when CD reached 80% of market share in format sales (cassette went below 20%, vinyl less than 1% THINK OF THAT !!!) and it was so cheap to manufacture and sell that more singles simply meant more cash. I don't know if we have the actual number of CDs and vinyl sales for HN, but I bet it's still higher than many of her 2010s-2024 singles.
Bedtime Story had a lot more of clubplay. I remember both didn't chart that well, in France at least.
After winning back a #1 status with TAB, she did a very Madonna thing: release what she wanted to. Both songs weren't necessarily picked to break the charts but they were crucial in her image and position in the middle of the 90s : HN showed she could be relevant in the contemporary TLC/Janet/Mariah.. R&B trend. BS was an experimental-ish statement (think JML) enhanced by its high-budget video.

Burning Up 4 Madonna reacted to Donna in Are there any Madonna albums you haven’t listened to in full at least once?
There's a difference between never listening to it from beginning to end versus never really going back to it much and giving it a thorough listen again.  Like you, Like A Virgin album never was a favorite of mine. Though, I absolutely love a number of the songs, but in the past I've snubbed the title track, Pretender and Love Don't Live Here Anymore.  So I get what you mean.  However, throughout my 40 years of being a fan, I have revisited that album numerous times from start to finish as well. It's just not an album I listen to a lot.  The same with Erotica.  It's not an album I grab first when I want to listen to Madonna.  At the same time, I can't say there is a Madonna album I don't like.  Each studio album has some gems.  For me, Stay is definitely the gem on the LAV album.  But of course, I love Material Girl, Shoo-Bee-Doo, and Angel a lot as well.

Until recently, it was Like a Virgin.
Don't get me wrong, I understand how iconic this album is, but for some reason it has never worked for me as an album. I have only listened few songs here and there, but couldn't complete a full album, despite the fact I love her early 80s stuff, and The First Album and True Blue, and basically all LAV singles. But Like a Virgin album has never really worked for me for some reason I cannot even properly describe. Well, until recently... After 24 years of being a fan of Madonna, I returned to that album 2-3 weeks ago, and something absolutely strange happened. I fell in love with that album all of a sudden. Now I even like Pretender and Shoo-Bee-Doo. And have been listening to that album in full multiple times in a row in the past weeks.

Yes, but you've heard the full album.  I can't imagine doing such, unless you were interrupted, but of course I'm an older fan who experienced it when it was first released. I bought it on CD.  I still remember sitting in my room as a teenager listening to it from start to finish.  I still remember til this day, being intrigued by it all, but thinking how odd "Love Song", "Til Death Do Us Part" and "Act of Contrition" was.  I didn't dislike them, but I remember taking some time to really appreciate them. Also, I remember when first listening to the album, I favored "Keep It Together" over "Express Yourself".  It wasn't until the single version of "Express Yourself"  that grabbed me on that song.
LAP (the album) isn't your typical pop album, so I can understand why some might be taken aback by it, but it really is an highly artistic album from her. I felt it was more personal and deeper than she's ever gone up to that point in her career.

I sorta understand why some haven't listened to the soundtracks she's done that include other artists.  I'm not sure if I've listen to the full Vision Question and With Honors soundtracks.  All the others, I have.  The Next Best Thing is actually a really good soundtrack IMO.  But not listening to a full studio album at least once through? I can't see how anyone would consider themselves a huge fan or stan?  Unless, you're just beginning out, anyone with a few years being a fan now, surely has had enough time to listen through her whole catalog.

Yes, the lack of radio play was the issue for this song in the U.S.  Interestingly enough, the video was played a lot on U.S. MTV though.  As for radio, Take A Bow was still getting a lot of play when both Bedtime Story and Human Nature was released as singles.

This amazing song has become a tour staple and an iconic moment in M's career. But I'm curious as to why it didn't have much chart success in 1995. Particularly in the US stalling at #46
Top 10 in the UK (#8) and top 20 in Aus (#17) and number 2 on the US Dance Charts. Germany only #50.
Especially with a stunning video and fantastic maxi. Was it radio play? Bedtime Story seemed to do better chart wise.

Just random ones I can think of:
The graphics behind her during Burning Up feature some of her song titles (i.e. Angel, etc) Open Your Heart features artwork inspired by Tamara de Lempicka which is a nod to the music video, same with the chair choreography The stage represents Manhattan with uptown, downtown mid town, east and west. Before Holiday the dancers are dressed as famous people from that era (i.e. Andy Warhol, Basquiat, etc) The Like a Prayer costume is a nod to the Blonde Ambition tour costume. Papa Don't Preach dance is from the Blonde Ambition tour also. Holiday - the coat costumes are a nod to the Girlie Show rendition of this song. The stage designers said the round center stage is a nod to the Like a Virgin VMA performance. The pink wig could be a nod to the pink wig she wore in the 80s. During Nothing Really Matters, toward the end, the stage goes counterclockwise to symbolize going back in time. She also sings "in your arms" 4x to represent 4 decades. There are musical nods to Where the Party, In This Life, Updown Suite, Deeper and Deeper, and I Want Your Love
