Hi! I have a question about the video intro for Batuka aka the Coffin interlude. Is it a known song or was it just created for the tour? I have been looking for info and I read is a Batukadeiras' song/prayer. Does somebody know the name of the track and where to get it? thank you

Here's a link to the tour's audio

This song is a mistery for me too. As the credits say the song is "Amor de mae" by Joaquim do Livramento but the songs you can find with that tittle and writter had nothing to do with what you can listen on the tour.

Even the lyrics seem different. When it starts seems they sing "Maria, mãe de Jesus, Maria..." (that's what I understand, I don't speak portuguese) and in the Joaquim do Livramento no mention to Maria. I'd love to have more info of the song used on the tour or, at least, the full lyrics.

Maria, mãe de Jesus, Maria, nossa mãe (Mary, mother of Jesus, Mary, our mother).

The rest of it is incomprehensible. Would love to find the song too, especially it's lyrics. :thinker:

First of all. The chant AMOR DE MÃE isn't in true Portuguese, but in Cape Verdean's Creoule which in a dialet spoken only in Cabo Verde derived from Portruguese. The song was written, but never recorded before the Madame X Tour.

The chant in Creoule:

Maria mãe di Jesus  Maria noss' mãe (2x)
Amor di mãe Só nhá in ti, Calor di mãe só nhá in ti (2x)
Maria mãe di Jesus  Maria noss' mãe (2x)
Na oração pu teu fidjo, mãe rogamos paz no mundo (2x)

in Portuguese:

Maria, mãe de Jesus. Maria, nossa mãe (2x)
Amor de mãe, só há em ti. Calor de mãe só há em ti. (2x)
Maria, mãe de Jesus. Maria, nossa mãe (2x)
Na oração para o teu filho. Mãe, rogamos paz no mundo (2x)

translation in English:

Mary, mother of Jesus. Mary, our mother (2x)
Mother's love, there's only in you. Mother's warming, there's only in you (2x)
Mary, mother of Jesus. Mary, our mother (2x)
In your son's prayer, Mother, we beg peace in the world (2x)

Written by who? Is that Madonna’s voice on the tour singing it?
