This gathering gives me 80s and early 90s vibes when Warhol or Sandra Bernhard would host "after dark" soirées and generated a buzz in the big city. A lot of great pop art was inspired by those moments when different artists, models and musicians came together with personalities that had the capacity to back up artistic concepts and ideas. It also created a sense of new culture or a moment in time when things progressed and shifted, especially in the gay scene. Those moments made headlines and it gave hope during the peek of HIV-AIDS and also contributed immensely to the art scene.

One of the things that really bother me about Madonna and her management is their disrespect towards Madonna’s legacy. So much of Madonna’s past work is abandoned. There’s no cohesive effort to constantly emphasize on her as an artist and her name, and that is probably one of the reasons why she might be less popular now than she used to be and not as often mentioned as Michael Jackson for example, because for an artist that has literally created the blueprint for touring, theatrical music videos and meaningful, provocative albums and “appearances”, she and her management are always silent about her music and her previous works as a whole and even her name, her presence as a celebrity, unless there’s something new to sell.
When a new single drops, social media will feature posts, banners and new profile pics, her website will have some slight new redesigns, her app (which is a disaster), her fan club..etc. they do get updated but then once a week or two have passed on the era, they’re done and you’re left with this same theme for the next 3-4 years.
There’s no emphasis on past hits, no anniversary releases, no merchandise celebrating past eras and not even any future tours that feature songs from recent albums. Her last 5 eras had songs that only got performed on their own tours and never mentioned again, no small show appearances unless there’s a new record coming, no interviews, no magazine photoshoots, and when the miracle happens it’s either a cheap magazine or some foreign branch of a big one or a mediocre photoshoot or outfits, she also doesn’t give much attention or care for what she wears or the quality of her posts on social media.
Many artists have made each post on Instagram feel like a curated work of art or a professional new photoshoot. All these have a major impact to an artist’s image and how interesting they look to the public..etc.
Many artists, many of whom are indie with a fraction of Madonna’s budget or popularity, release beautifully packaged and designed color vinyls, box sets, great merchandise with original and very unique designs, even the clothes they sell feel like genuinely well-made and well designed pieces that you’d like to buy even without the artist’s name on them, but for somE reason, they only celebrate Madonna’s legacy with a tweet if we’re lucky or some random website releases a limited low effort re-release of an old record, or some cheaply made, badly designed yet over-priced apparel or objects are made.
Everything feels low effort, low budget and uninspired, like she and her label don’t even have a heart in it anymore. Don’t get me started about how terribly designed single artworks are and how this trend for bad photoshop is even affect her album artwork. Images are shot low quality or when edited, given high contrast to cover the details instead of proper airbrushing which ends up looking really cheap. The logo on her sewn mouth on the standard edition, what is that??? A drop shadow effect??? I wouldn’t do this to a selfie and I’m not even a celebrity or anything.
The website design is a disaster, the fan club is dated and clunky, the app had me spend 8 months emailing back and forth with the team to fix a login issue to no avail, not to mention outdated and hardly has anything interesting or extensive, only bits of info and a bad design and it crashes often or doesn’t feel stable even on the latest iPhone. Doesn’t she like to have a source of knowledge about her that matches her image? A comprehensive source of photography and info about her entire career? I get the excuse that she likes to look forward, but it’s not like she’s going to burn anniversary discs on her computer by herself or even design her own website by her hands. You can do both things especially when she has 3-4 year gaps between eras where she’s not doing anything and her team could be handling the legacy stuff.
Singles are released with minimum effort. There’s always a deal like Super Bowl or Eurovision or Grammys for the lead single and beyond that? It’s complete silence. They say she spent $5m on the Billboard performance. That money would’ve been much better spent on a visual album or more performances for the other singles or a better iTunes marketing deal like Beyoncé had the whole iTunes Store covered with her albums when she launched her self titled visual album or hell been a payola deal that everyone does these days. But no, you have one single and then a tour and now even the tour was plagued with cancellations, tardiness, embarrassing moments not to mention the lack of filming which would’ve been free promo for her. Everything felt so silent and the era was dead after Eurovision, not to mention she sang a promo single, a weird excerpt of an album track and a 30 year old hit on her biggest ever promo opportunity instead of some actual single...
Whether it’s longtime hardcore fans you’re after or new audiences, these things have a huge impact on maintaining an artist’s image. Her legacy matters and when a label emphasizes on that gold mine she has, they can always help keep her relevant instead of looking for the next rapper or sexy young talent to sing a mediocre song with and blame its underperformance on sexism and ageism. Bowie passed away but they find any excuse to release some anniversary edition or collector’s box for him every few weeks. Metallica does the same and they made two albums for MJ after his death lol.
Madonna is no less important and if she’s not as relevant, it’s not only because of ageism and sexism but also because of lack of intelligence in marketing her and maintaining her image. The decision-making process behind her releases and managing her appearance, image and legacy is really cringeworthy at this point and it doesn’t match the value and the status of someone like Madonna whose work made peopke easily define music as “before and after Madonna”.
Can we celebrate 8 years Girl Gone Wild with a vinyl? 5 years of Ghosttown with another vinyl or a piece of merch from set? Ray of Light with a box set? Confessions Tour? How about re-releasing those Celebration and Royal Box sets that we can actually get from her store instead of paying hundreds to eBay scalpers? Or a restock of MDNA, Celebration and Hard Candy vinyls that are now out of stock and selling for $200-$500? I’d rather that money go to her than anyone else.
Hell, even release the SEX book with new packaging or past tours on 4K Blu-Ray like thousands of movies that aren’t even true 4K being released in a better upscaling with AI Machine learning techniques, and past music videos that are still in SD.
They’re not even sending singles to radios anywhere but US, UK, Italy and few other places (to my knowledge), why? They’re underestimating her and their scope and planning for her career is so limited and they aren’t looking at how her legacy can be a huge investment. She doesn’t have to be dead for them to celebrate her...

The wait is always the worst! I felt like I was going to be crazy with the Rebel Heart release... and it's starting again with the Madame X tour release...
Rumors are going to come up, "Someone said...", "I've heard that..." so I am deciding to avoid this thread, pray that the release will be this year, without too much effects on the video, a nice audio. Something good to make justice to the show I had the chance to see the first night in Paris.

Can't wait to read someone saying: "Come on, she's MADONNA, she's the Queen, she doesn't follow rules, she is not subject to French law, she can do the last two shows if she wants to".

But I can also imagine Live Nation admitting the first 1000 ticket holders inside the venue or doing a new lottery for the last two shows!!

So glad she's putting herself first. Her ongoing injury is much more important than anyone else missing out on a few hours of entertainment. The General Public is treating her like a dancing monkey! Like she isn't a human being that has real challenges sometimes! Poor Madonna. Ridiculous that fans there would be mad right now -- They should be posting best wishes to her on Insta. And re: her Insta stories -- At least she's letting fans see some of the show! Imagine she posted nothing and we didn't even have fan vids to look at because of the phone ban.
Some fans in here are unbelievable -- The couple thousand dollars spent to go see her will be recouped eventually. Work overtime, get a better paying job, whatever it takes to make the money back; but if she were to be going through with your canceled show, she might never be able to perform again. Seriously, imagine losing this icon. You need to be more understanding to her. She's MADONNA.
She's a warrior and will push through this tour at all costs. Can't wait to see what surprises she has in store for the last evening. I hope there's a fan or two in attendance, so that we get reports back!

I am only saying that it is disrespectful to cancel shows with such a short notice because fans are travelling from around the globe to attend maybe just one show.
In my case I have suffered two last minute cancellations (Lisbon & Paris). I really enjoyed the shows, but the whole cancellation has killed all the magic of travelling to see her. This time I was happy when my concerts were done.
It would have been better to stop the european leg and postpone it maybe than seeing her on a bad mood because she is in pain (like last Saturday).

I love her, don't take me wrong, but I just think she is not thinking on her fanbase, probably because she is disconnected from the real world and she thinks we are rich and we can follow her no matter what she decides about her injuries.

Sorry for the late review - honestly was absolutely drained, exhausted and have only just arrived back in London 2 hours ago

Both 3rd and 4th March we bought tickets back in June 19
The were end of the row - C & D and had the Rex been setup normally would have been amazing seats

We saw on Saturday (29th) just what exactly they had done with the staging and the curtains and were super pissed off that for €387 each the seats would basically maybe see madonna the few times she was at the very front of the stage - otherwise restricted view

Tuesday 3rd when we complained initially they tried to move us to second price seats in middle back of the stalls, eventually giving us section 3 row H17 & 19 (which as there is no row A is 7 rows back) I loved the view for watching the show on my birthday

Wednesday 4th due to her up and down health, because we expected the edit and also knew we were in for problems with the seats again my other half was asking me every 5 minutes at Disney - has she cancelled yet?

Anyway we got to the theatre after a very tiring day at Disney with only 30 minutes to change at the hotel

We arrived at the Rex around 8:30pm but it was A LOT quieter than it had been the night before at the same time.
The lady began to lead us to our seats (different lady than the night before) and started to explain the seats weren’t acceptable and that we had been changed the night before - she didn’t even leave us at our original seats and led us to the back of the orchestra while she got her supervisor

Was the same lady that re-seated is the night before - she immediately smiled at us (compared to the night before) agreed the seats weren’t acceptable and then led us to the exact mirror seats that we had the night before -  section 2 H18-20

The Grand Rex is a weird shape and despite being the exact same seats but the other side of the stage they were actually closer than the night before so my other half was half happy...

The band came on at 9:30 and yet again the Paris audience was great, and there was a bigger standing ovation at the end compared to the 3rd I thought

Now yesterday when they had left the stage through the middle curtain we had seen the stage setup all done for god control - and between the band leaving and the final “get to your seats” was 45 mins

Last night as the band left, again a peek through the curtain and complete shock as again the stairs and stage setup for god control

Until the curtain rose we refused to believe it - especially as everything was 15mins behind the night before
But on queue at 10:45 the final “please take your seats” came over the speakers and shortly after the show began with the full typewriter intro before God Control

Right from the start she har a beaming smile and was even more energetic with some of the choreography than the night before - with an almost disastrous clash/wobble with one the the police dancers where she lost her balance before climbing up the stairs, he saved her and it didn’t phase her

After Human Nature again it was with just the singers, but she cut off the express yourself acapella and also the chatter about getting drinks later

Overall throughout the show I felt in some places she moved it along swiftly compare to the night before

When she asked the “what do you call a man with a small penis” about half the audience in the orchestra shouted out “Macron” but she chose to ignore it and did the Donald Trump skit

The Polaroid went to a French guy as I’m sure others mentioned - she said she was in excruciating pain and the doctors had told her she absolutely should have cancelled the rest of the tour back end of last year
But she said she carried on because Madame X is a a masochist and also Madame X doesn’t like to disappoint - the crowd went crazy at that point
When the bidding came she quipped that she didn’t know what was going on with the French economy and that the girl from Croatia Petra from the night before - “I’m saying her name in case she is here tonight! Well Petra told me she gave me 4,000 but when I counted it later it was only 3,800, that’s not on.”
However last night Petra very clearly bid and gave 3,000 so Madonna was making up a story for effect - as she pointed out to us the night before...

The Guy bid 4,200 and she was happy with that but not that it was 50’s lol
She took 2 Polaroid and gave him what she said was the good one
She asked him what his job was to have so much money and he said he worked for L’Oréal - she said “people have strange jobs” while lying on the stage head over the edge upside down again like yesterday “So do you have a job where you are a makeup artist or you sit at a desk?” He said both “well that’s a stupid answer, it doesn’t make sense! Anyway..”

Was a fun interaction - Batuka she did better than the night before with the entrance but was only half way up when she started singing - however across the 29th, 3rd and 4th last night was the only time where she sat in the correct place the first time to use the lamp post for support and the choreography - 29th when she reached back it wasn’t even close and she kind of just sat there rather than correct herself - 3rd when she reached back she quickly moved across closer when she realised
But last night she was on point and used the lamp post for support straight away and was standing and doing the routine properly
She didn’t do the the Trill Ululation on the rug but was having fun with the song as always (whereas Saturday when she didn’t do it she was in obvious pain)

After that again she talked about how being a mother is the hardest job in the world - “all you mothers out there know that, and all you other motherfuckers out there BETTER know that!”
When she was asking about if people knew what fado means she commented that “you people all seem to know what it means but is that because you are close to me? Did everyone else leave? I can’t see a thing into the audience right now”
The lights came onto the audience and everyone screams for her
When she asked if we wanted to here her sing a little bit of a Fado song the whole audience instantly roared back YEAH - this was the 1st time across the 9 shows I’ve seen where she didn’t have to ask that question twice she noticed
“FINALLY you are answering in unison, thank you!”
From this part she really began to relax
She commented that sometimes there were mistakes or the song didn’t go right to which Gasper said something like you always get things right which she called him a Liar for saying

The interaction with her bf is sooo amazing to watch, before he bought out the port she gave a speech on the piano
“You meet people, you fall in love, you invent a narrative, you create a persona, things happen!  And suddenly you are in a relationship and you find you are with someone that just wants to take, yes that’s right take.
Look at all of you with your innocent faces... you are all guilty of it at one time or another!
However, there are always exceptions, every once in a while someone comes into your life who just wants to give” at which point he arrived with the white port
They downed it together as a competition but he beat her which she quipped happily that he was too good at that!
Before it came to Medellin she started playing with the sound and light queues to try and test them and said they kept getting it wrong and she liked to keep them on their toes!

To be frank whoever was doing the spotlight both 3rd & 4th must have been drunk as he barely kept her lit at some points in the show

After Medellin where the dancer escorts her to the edge of the stairs she stood on 1 foot holding his hand and trying to unbalance him telling him “have you got me? Have you really got me? I’m testing you” smiling and sticking her tongue out

The beer bitch was great, I don’t know Christine but both sides were complimentary and it was filmed so I would think we will see it on Instagram shortly

She was a lot happier in Like a Prayer last night I thought and I Rise she really gave it her all

I’m sure I missed loads of bits too, but this is what I can remember right now

Was an amazing end for us to our own little Madame X Tour
We had 3 cancellations, 1 we rearranged, swapped some of our original tickets in London for box seats in the palladium which were amazing, had 2 amazing holidays combined into the experience over January through to now and honestly was so happy to see her healthy happy, strong and doing what she loves these last 2 days

She can see the end in sight and she’s giving her all!

Anyway while i agree with what's being said, I think this isn't the thread and we just need to relax and not criticize her too much right now. Not kick her while she's down lol. After the tour is over we can talk all day about everything that went wrong... for now I hope she can perform the rest of the shows without any more problems and hopefully with not so much pain, and then a lot of rest and clearing her head and getting healthy. And about cancellations I hope fans can be understanding and not take it out on her too much that she had to cancel due to injury, even if it's on the same day. I know it sucks though, but once it's done there's nothing that can change it. I wouldn't be mad if my show got cancelled over injury especially knowing beforehand that it might happen at any moment. So yeah!!!! that's it.

From Bowling at Madonna Tribe. Her pain sounds worse than ever  ?
    So back from the show,
Radio edit after a very nice warm up from the band , we took our seat front row when they just started.
First row is definitely NOT the best seat in the house, anything from row 1 to 5 is too close and I mean it.
Yes you get to see her up close BUT she was so not at ease, she s in pain, she s exhausted and after few minutes even my parents look at me with that expression “what is going on”
You could almost felt everybody wondering will she go through the show and she did. But in a bad mood, from pain, exhaustion, and especially after the Polaroid won by a German girl. Someone say something anti German and her expression was terrible. She said” I heard that every country had bad history or history involved tyran so don’t lecture anyone” followed by a long pause and looking aggressively in the audience.
Same when she told the story about Celeste passing away an italian girl next to me said “hun?” Like she didn’t understand. And same Madonna stopped, looked at her and answer her with a stone face and aggressive tone . “It meant she died”. It was awkward... and again a weird long pause :starring at the girl....
There was a lot of love and scream from fan I guess but not enough, she complained about the audience being half asleep. We were not enough so she kinda switch to the auto pilote mode for a while.
She warmed a bit when the whole fado section got wild reaction.
My parents and brother didn’t especially notice the bad mood but they did notice her pain and exhaustion.
What was incredible was her voice, never ever I ve heard sing like that. EVER.
Especially la vie en Rose. Through the roof. Jaw dropping performance. So was extreme Occident.
Now to adress the elephant in the room she is beyond exhausted. Compare to Chicago she was the shadow of herself.
Yes it’s admirable she keep on going but the pain is too obvious now, there something unhealthy for everybody in the room at this point imho.
The dancers looks worried, m look worried at every step she take, the audience was worried about her pain.
It create a weird atmosphere, probably the people in the row far back wouldn’t notice but for us at front row, we could see the eyes contact, the subtle interaction between them. And M facial expression. She had a dancer holding her hand or close to her almost all the time. After butaka dance she seat next to one of the lady, the last one took her hand to comfort her and M was making again that face of someone being in so much pain :-/
M missed her come alive entrance with incomplete costume , her lap entrance and at the end of lap she was almost crying.
I don’t know what to make of this night. It was emotional, brilliant brave, awkward and painful all at the same time.
I don’t how to express it better.
Since it’s the second radio edit in a row I Think it would be the case until the end.
I have 2 more shows to attend, when I told my parents she has all those remaining shows to do they ask “how she s gonna make it?”
Don’t take this review as a negative one, it’s not, it’s just what I felt being so close to the stage and the whole energy coming from it.
I guess people not as close had Probably different feeling. But imho was not her best performance, not her best night, not her best crowd, but probably her best voice EVER...
So bittersweet is the word to describe that night even if my guest had a blast, I for one was worried and sorry for her many times.
