If she goes back to Warners she could serve up a Michael Jackson History type of project.
20 of her biggest hits (or even a GHV3 from American Life onwards ) alongside a new album.
That could be a clever little trick

I recall reading the album cover, as well as the Express Yourself zipper sleeve, being a humourous response to the 1971 sleeve for Sticky Fingers by the Rolling Stones, shot by Andy Warhol. Something along the lines of "if a man can do it, why can't I?"

P.S. - notice where the "O" in Madonna is placed on the Express Yourself sleeve :O

She’s primarily a financial beast. She wasn’t as worried about her record sales decline and new record deal in 2008 because the landscape was changing rapidly. Music sales were in decline in general and tour receipts were at an all time high for her. She’s in a difficult position now in business terms because her record sales have fallen through the floor. Her streaming numbers are generally improving but they are not comparative to the streaming era artists and her tour receipts are not bringing in the money as they used too. She’s almost damaged that part of her brand with the Late starts and injuries (not her fault).
So what to do? A greatest hits really is the only way to reaffirm her position as the number one female artist. It’s been a decade since Celebration and streaming was NOT the platform it was then now. She secretly needs to reach out to a new generation of music listeners. I don’t mean by producing kids music like ME! I mean by carefully crafting and producing a balls to the wall Greatest Hits era that makes younger streamers recognise her as the groundbreaking talent she is.
Janet Jackson has had one album in ten years but her industry and public status is seemingly as an all time high. She is respected by an entire new generation of music lovers who recognise her cultural importance. I feel like Madonna is a little bit forgotten in this equation, especially in the current climate, when she was essentially the curator of this movement.

We know she doesn’t like to trade on past glories but from a business and public good will perspective I think it would be prudent and timely, with the album and tour anniversaries to follow in succession afterwards. You need the public back on board to make these units shift.

Nov 2020: A comprehensive greatest hits era to increase her streaming presence and recalibrate her public persona.
Jan 2021: year long programme of a new Madonna back catalogue singles being added to streaming platforms. One a week for a year. (There’s enough). To further increase streaming presence.
Aug 2021: Ltd greatest hits stadium world tour.
Dec 2021: Greatest Hits Live CD / Blu Ray / Streaming
March 2022: Commence Programme of anniversary editions.
2023: New album with a general public focus. “Hits hits hits” should be the objective. Pure commercialism. We are on the being of another pop revolution in the coming year or so with the sounds of trap and RNB starting to reach saturation and exhaustion. What better time for the queen of pop to retake the reigns.

A long break musically for sure.
I wouldn't be surprised if she did a Number 1 dance singles album rather than a traditional greatest hits.
This then leaves room for a second ballads collection and a smattering of re-releases starting in fall this year.
I honestly think we will start to see the back cat explored while she focuses on films and family.
One thing is certain. Everything depends on what kind of contract she renegotiates now her three album deal and tour contract with LiveNation is over.

Body Shop Rebel Heart Iconic I'm A Sinner Lovespent Devil Pray Future I don't think you can say that about any other period in her history. Warner knew what the fuck they were doing.

I got a heavily abridged show so essentially 14 songs for little under £1000. 4 of which were classic hits. I love her so its fine but it's essentially touring suicide for any casuals that went and paid these prices.

I mean, here in the UK we were pretty much here for everything she ever did up until Hard Candy campaign. We were there through Erotica Who's That Girl and American Life. We always showed up and even though the British press were tough on her, the public always held her dear. She always felt very much like one of us in spirit. The US audiences always seemed harder on her than Europe.
There's no doubt the first very "obvious" surgery around 2008 caused a bit of a disconnect with the casuals and even some of her regular fanbase. The building of the Madonna LEGACY artist phase by roping in Britney, Justin through to Nikki and co has been a tough pill for a lot of fans to swallow. Madonna simply works better on her own for the most part and although she's always collaborated with people it was nowhere near as front pedelled as it has been in the last decade+.
All cool but actually...If anything,,it made her appear older than she actually was. Seeing her perform, attempt to out dance and and try so hard next to artist half her age had the adverse affect. This came to a head when Gags arrived and the Celebration era felt like a bit of a Jubilee / abdication.
MDNA was neither forward thinking or well written and produced and Rebel Heart was probably her final chance to claw back....but the leaks and the fall at the Brits seemed to undermine it all. I think the song Rebel Heart would have made an amazing lead single and put her back in the main frame. I think she has conceeded to the commercial peak being over and now wants to make the music she wants to make.
    Good for her.

Madonna is a business woman. She surely knows the public perception of her is maybe at an all time low and worse than that there's an air of indifference about her. Like "go away" or "she's at it again". She just doesn't come across as much fun anymore. As fans who follow her everyday we know better but to the general public she seems very removed from reality.
I'm not expecting her to be mega lolz Katy Perry levels of nerdy but she seemingly went down the Michael Jackson route.
A public perception overhaul is definitely whats needed here. I don't think she's in any mood to do it though. I even think the second ballads collection she spoke about would be off the table now. Last time it was used as a public image softener. I can't see her head space anywhere near that now.
I honestly want her to get with the best pop writers there are. I've really enjoyed the majority of the last decade but there is no denying that the sparkle found in much of the work up to Confessions is not quite hitting the mark. If Madonna has built her entire career writing every single thing and composing al the music, that would be understandable...but she hasn't. She's always collaborated. She needs to find a new collaborator that she sparks with again.
Songs like Medellin, God Control, Crave are brilliant but they are a bit spiky in places and as much as I adore Medellin, there is so much of Maluma that I just can't sing along even if I wanted to. I don't speak Portuguese and there is a lot. It sounds beautiful but it's unrealistic for me at least. A lot of the chorus on Madame X are undercooked and the coldness and lack of melody / warm chords on much of American Life come back to haunt us again in Madame X in places.
There's still brilliance there but so many of the songs edge you with pleasure without the final pay off.
I think she's scared to go too pop again. The Avicci demo of Rebel Heart was truly a slice of old school Madonna melody with big sing along chorus and production sparkle. The album version, while nice, lacks the pop punch that she'd have eaten up 15 years ago...as would the public. I think this is the best example of what I'm trying to say. It's all still there, it's just not being harnessed in the way it used to be.
I love GMAYL but a lead single it aint. Girl Gone Wild is the MacDonna happy meal of her catalogue. You hope no oe finds you listening to it and you feel dirty, empty and ashamed of yourself  afterwards.
Turn Up The Radio & Living For Love don't quite get there in terms of the Madonna euphoric pay off.
Miles Away is a good song devoid of any emotion.
4 Minutes bangs but it's essentially a Justin song.
Bitch Im Madonna gained its views through video features and as brilliant as it is it would have remained a fan favourite album track if it was on Music and probably never seen the light of day as a single.
Ghosttown is a bonafide hit but the dodgy autotune and production issues are again a bit of an issue that drop you out of the experience, and it also falls in that slightly twee Madonna song that she used to throw out every now and then to please the public but don't feel very Madonna. See I'll Remember, TUTBMOP, American Pie. It's a soundtrack song.
What she's doing is still great but there's defo something POP wise that is missing the mark.
