I’m with you. Logging off! I’m so excited. I’m so happy we still have her after her health scare. This is starting to feel like the excitement of the confessions era. She’s back and stronger than ever.

    Happy Celebration everyone!

Apparently The Power Of Good-Bye as well as Ghosttown are among the songs rehearsed around May that were seemingly dropped from the setlist.
I'm expecting those to pop up as extras for a few dates.

I love how Madonna has been able to keep everything under wraps and leaking out things when and if she wants. A day away now, and she’s about to show everyone who’s QUEEN of innovation again and more. Here’s to this “celebration” in more ways than one! WE LOVE YOU MADONNA! Go get em!!!! 🔥🔥🔥🪩🪩🪩🕺🏼🕺🏼🕺🏼💃💃💃🥊🥊🥊🥊🙏🙏🙏💃💃💃🌹🌹🌹💝💝💝

Guys can you imagine how much we're gonna want the studios versions of this tour with all these mashups of classics using the original multitracks made by Stuart Price 😮

Bob is an incredible performer so I wouldn't sweat it. He is one of the most successful drag race winners of all time for a reason. He along with Trixie Mattel, Katya, and Jiynx are really the only ones that have crossed over from just being famous in the gay world to be recognizable figures culturally period. Bob has his own stand up special, has successfully been touring for several years, and has been a mainstay at reputable and acclaimed comedy clubs across the world. He is part of a really inspiring TV show (not drag race, a show called We Are Here) that has won a few Emmys and also has an award nominated podcast. He is known to be hard working and innovative. I've no doubt that his part in the show will be important to the narrative and act as important connective tissue.

Can we please discuss Reinvention elsewhere. This thread is about the current tour. Y'all are tying yourselves up in knots for no reason and it's exhausting. It was 19 years ago. Nobody gives a shit. Have a wank or something instead.

I have no worries about Bob. I’ve watched Bob since the very beginning of their career. It makes perfect sense to me why Madonna chose them. Super wickedly smart and hard working. I’m excited.

I don’t accept Cher revisionism. 😂 Cher simply doesn’t have the hits that Madonna has. She has all of about twelve (her very long discography is diabolically unlistenable for the most part, which is why most people never bought the records), and even then some have become remembered as bigger hits due to her never ending farewell tour more than they actually ever were in reality. If people here are getting upset about Madonna performing a less remembered number one or top five hit from thirty-odd years ago, how do they feel about Cher calling Heart of Stone, Walking In Memphis and All Or Nothing classics? If you know Cher, her voice is instantly recognizable. Given the fact that nowadays young people have little regard for legacy and history beyond their own lifetimes, it’s easy to consider anyone who has been around long enough legendary. Cher has taken advantage of this endlessly since 2000. She’s a very smart woman for convincing all the post-millennial gays that she paved the way for Madonna and has had the same cultural impact. It’s total nonsense, but if you tell a lie enough times…
    Madonna has no peers.

    p.s. I love Cher.

Madonna’s upcoming tour to feature "about 45 songs" and no band on stage for the first time in her career
12 October 2023, 00:01 | Written by Tyler Damara Kelly
Ahead of Madonna’s tour kicking off in the UK this weekend, Nick Grimshaw and Annie Mac get the inside scoop from BBC News correspondent Mark Savage who spoke to Madonna’s musical director Stuart Price about the forthcoming tour.
Earlier this year, in January, Madonna announced The Celebration Tour by sharing a five-minute announcement video that saw her playing truth or dare with famous faces including Jack Black, Lil Wayne, Diplo, Bob The Drag Queen, Kate Berlant, Larry Owens, Meg Stalter, Eric Andre, Amy Schumer and Judd Apatow, and nods to her 1991 film of the same name.
The Celebration Tour was set to see Madonna play 35 cities across North America, Europe and the UK to celebrate her 40-year career. Unfortunately, she had to reschedule the North American dates due to being hospitalised with a serious bacterial infection.
Madonna has kept tight-lipped about what concertgoers may expect, but BBC News correspondent has them covered.
“The great thing about Stuart Price is he knows this show inside out. He wasn’t going to give away all of the big secrets but he gave me an idea of the shape of the show. And the thing that really fascinated me is he said; ‘When you talk about greatest hits for Madonna, a greatest hit isn’t necessarily a song. It’s a look, it’s a video, it’s an award show performance, it’s a costume she wore.’ And so this is going to be a concert that takes all of that, all the Madonna music, and the social history that it intersects with...”
Speaking about the actual stage set-up, he added: “One interesting thing that Stuart said is there will not be a band on stage with her, I think for the first time in her career. And what they’ve done is they’ve gone back to the original multi-track recordings of all of these songs, 72 I think, top 40 hits in the UK, and they’ve deconstructed them. He said they’ve gone back to the original vocals where you can hear New York police sirens going past when she was recording Into The Groove in the 1980s. And they’re using all of that original and really evocative music as the backing track."
Last month, Madonna reflected on her banned Pepsi commercial, which celebrated the release of "Like a Prayer", saying: "34 years ago I made a commercial with Pepsi to celebrate the release of my song "Like a Prayer". The commercial was immediately canceled when I refused to change any scenes in the video where I was kissing a black saint or burning crosses," she wrote. "So began my illustrious career as an artist refusing to compromise my artistic integrity...Artists are here to disturb the peace."

I take issue with that, honestly. That's not a good enough reason to remove her most iconic songs. She's had months to make fixes to this show after everything that happened. They could have toned her choreography down or removed it altogether while letting the dancers do the work. The audience would understand.
This is MADONNA we're talking about. She's not known as a slow songs and ballads artist. She's a dance pop artist, first and foremost. Like, her greatest hits album last year was a collection of 50 DANCE SONGS.
I'm gonna come out and say it -- A lot of fans, myself included, have paid a LOT of money for the shows this time around. We've sat through years of the artistically indulgent shows. We've dealt with the last minute cancellations and shortened shows. We've sat in the arena with her coming on 3 hours late. We've done all of this and applauded her and waited patiently for years...decades...for her to finally do a greatest hits tour. And that is absolutely 100% what this was sold as. "I dare you to do a world tour and play your greatest motherfucking hits" "4 decades? As in all of those years and all those songs?" Remember? And in the YouTube description: "the first to celebrate four decades of music and her greatest hits!"  This is a *massive* bait and switch if she ends up leaving songs like Material Girl, Lucky Star, Express Yourself, 4 Minutes, Like a Prayer, original Hung Up, Music, and La Isla Bonita off of the setlist.
I get that she can't please everyone -- She has a massive amount of songs, and of course some of the more hidden gems on the setlist are exciting (Bad Girl, Oh Father, Erotica)...but give me a break, there are 15+ songs that are absolute expectations, no question, in a Madonna greatest hits tour.
Her illness was extremely unfortunate, but to scrap the big hits due to it means we aren't really getting what we were sold, and I guarantee there are going to be a lot of pissed off people if she leaves the majority of the biggest ones off of the list.

From what I know, 'Music' was indeed rehearsed but was removed during late rehearsals (post health scare) with a few other songs from the same act. I don't know if the song has been added again during this week in Manchester, but I highly doubt it.

'Said id sing them greatest hits,
But some of these were flops,
I'll be wearing bad girl grills,
    And other times I'm not,
    Sometimes I can be extreme,
    I'm never gonna stop,
    Keep the delusion going,
That my fans love Candy Shop'
