Stop giving it views and promoting it. I work in magazines and online publications, i know how this works. it's clickbait. Funny how the writer is a white girl...maybe she should resign and stop writing stuff and leave her job to a black girl.

I think Madonna does not want Warner make dollars off her back now. She did like being sued for Maverick and having to sell her parts in the company. (even though the ceo's who sued her are maybe retired now or left). One thing that frightens me with M is if she's ever to make remastered deluxe versions of her albums, she'll have a hand in them and if she does to themwhat she does editing her concerts......
Even PJ Harvey will have ALL her back catalogue including b-sides and demos re-released between this late august and 2021.

i was disappointed that Oh Father didn't become a bigger hit. it was such a haunting song. but it was released during the 4th quarter of the year when people are looking for more festive tunes to play. Oh Father was a bit too depressing.

I wish it could have been at least a b-side on Oh Father with remixes by Shep Pettibone (most likely). An acetate of the track was made by Warner. I don't know if it would havebeen the 3rd or 4th single from the album but by october 1989 the Batman soundtrack was done commercially even with the release of the movie overseas, people had already buy the soundtrack the previous summer. Scandalous (a very good track), the Arms of Orion and The Future (brilliant and the Orbit remixes are even better) were flops in the charts. And maybe Prince was not very happy when Madonna turned down the part he offered her in Graffiti Bridge. In french Rolling Stone around 1990, Mondino said he was approached to shoot the video and the idea was to show skin like in the movie "Hiroshima, my love" when a couple makes love and we only see their naked bodies very close up (no legs, tits etc...). I keep telling you guys to read "Siren Song" by Seymour Stein because i read it during quaratine and it was captivating, Mo Ostin is an asshole. and Madonna put up with a lot shit backstage at Warner even when she was at the top.

Mo Ostin, the CEO of warner objected to it because of the Batman soundtrack. The video was supposed to be directed by Jean-Baptiste Mondino as he once said in an interview.

    That's exactly it.
Madonna did not like the Edo Bertoglio cover (that looked a lot like what he did for another singer Cristina who passed away this year). In his book "Siren Song", Seymour Stein says that Madonna asked the art direction at Warner to not go with this cover and told Martin it was a decision made by the label   Another version came from Michael Rosenblatt who was in charge of Madonna at the time, he thought she was not blonde enough on the pics.
Warner US had no interest in Madonna at that time. She was in fact signed under WEA the european branch of Warner so she had no real support and hence why she did so much promo in Europe for Holiday. Warner started  getting interested when Borderline exploded and the album sales went up. It's all in Seymour Stein's book.

Madonna first went blonde after a bet with Martin. He was her first fan, introduced her to everybody in the east village, then he was her first manager, tour manager, her roomate, they exchanged clothes and according to their friends they were like twins.

I think Madonna terminated her contact with Camille Barbone in 1982 so my guess it would be Barbone who was suing her around that time (the case would eventually get resolved in 1992).

I want the orchestral version of Take a Bow. I was never fond of that track but listening to the instrumental you can hear the strings better and how gorgeous they are, incidentally Madonna said the melody they play is the first thing that came to her mind when she wrote the song. The credits mention Craig Amstrong on the record, i wonder if it's for that track or another but it sure sounds like him.

In Paris you'd think the pandemic is over, it's business as usual. Thing is many scientific publications said that there are very low risks of catching the virus outside since its nature is very volatile. The higher risk is being indoors a long time with a lot of people, that's their conclusion when they studied how clusters appear. That said since we keep getting contradictory informations, i personally wear a mask and avoid people, let alone hug them
