Diablo Cody is one of my favourite screenwriters. She writes incredible dialogue. If she's helping to write a bio pic, then it’s in good hands. I could not be more pleased with this news.

I agree. All her Interscope albums had songs that had the potential to be much bigger hits but their promotion was non existent. 

I loved all her interscope albums TBH, but I do like the way she was marketed better during the Warner days (even though we could all pick away at some mistakes that happened during that time)

Im glad she left interscope! they never paid to promote her music, basically they buried and blocked her music from mainstream play all these years!!! good riddance!

What I don’t understand is why would you want Liz Rosenberg to fix her public image when what she is showing us is the real deal? I’m not sure I understand why anyone would want her to be marketed as someone more palatable to the masses if that’s not what she wants to be.
 
Madonna has always been this way. It’s just that people used to accept it from her because she was a younger woman. When you’re twenty you can dress like a tramp and you’ll look sexy. When you’re sixty and you dress like a tramp, you look like a tramp. That’s just the way we have been conditioned culturally to perceive things. These are unconscious biases.

I find it highly transparent that moments of mistake and weakness are when when some folks - particularly a certain subset of fans (and some of them even in the media) - decide to let out what really are long-held, pent-up resentments about her not being the artist or celebrity they think she should be...and even more specifically, to be 'the Madonna' that they fell in love with at what time they deemed to be her "peak"...with most fans that's ROL Madonna or Confessions Madonna. Newsflash, not all fans worship those eras as if they're infallible. Or that they even represent the totality of who Madonna is. No single era does.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, I think a lot of fans are dealing with seeing their icon as not infallible. As human. As messy. Sometimes contradictory. Sometimes confusing. And now, with age added, and no longer with massive commercial success to buffer it all. And thus, a great deal of confirmation biases and vulnerabilities in us fans are being brought out in ways they weren't before, and projected back onto her.
As I always say, hit the Google Earth button and never forget the bigger picture.
 

Well Tony put her in piano class as a kid and Dan Gilroy stated she used to play the organ, I think either Pat or Steve has said she played around with keyboard during the LAP album.

I adore Bowie but if he was that smart how come he did not manage to make a decent album from a to Z after Let's Dance ? We had to wait for Black Star and his death for that. Outside or 1. Outside, the better version was almost it but he had to add a stupid storyline that made no sense. Sometimes it feels like Bowie had the Elton John syndrom, without drugs the classic and perfect albums from the 70's came from cocaine. I know people put ded people on a pedestal as soon as they die but bowie was not perfect. No one is. And that's fine. Stop looking at celebrities like they are superhumans and act surprised when they behave like they believe they are. Madonna is not perfect.

Madonna has always been all too human which is why I took to her. No human is perfect in the conventional sense but everyone is a perfect human being. What was attractive 40 years ago is not so much today. Fans today think the "show" is real.

What did she say or stand for that you don’t believe in anymore? Was it just that last Instagram post that she deleted? Is it fair to say she stands by that since she deleted it? 
If you are talking about plastic surgery, she never said she was against or having it was bad. 
I admire her as an artist, but I think she’s very intelligent but I never thought she was one of the smartest people alive since she never graduated from university and doesn’t have a graduate degree, so obviously there are things she doesn’t know. Bowie was a chameleon and a great musician, but I wouldn’t say he was one of the smartest people alive either. 

Am I the only one to look up to someone who is human? Too perfect people intimidate me. 

I don’t mind collaborations or the vocoder as much as some people here. The one thing I really want is a musical concept that holds the songs together, this the suggestions I made above. I feel a lot of her recent albums have mixed genres and been a collection of songs which I enjoyed, but I’m ready for a true album musical concept like Erotica or Confessions. 

Has she really changed? Or were we not as aware of her earlier mistakes because there wasn’t social media during that time. 

I know... but as I said, probalby back in the day she would do the same in case that social media existed. Her team was in charge of all of her final aproach to the public... I don't think this is a case of 'degeneration', or things like that. 

I am slow to love Madame X but it is gradually getting there.  Some of it I love but there are aspects that are taking a bit.  But hey, I was like that with MDNA and Rebel Heart. Now, eras later, I can't get enough of them.

I don't really "look up to" anyone.  Everyone is human.  It's perfectly fine to admire positive qualities about anyone while acknowledging they have flaws.  She's obviously done a lot of good while also behaving in some thoughtless and ridiculous ways at times.
