I didn't even know that "city" version existed! Gross. Get Together is one of my all time faves from her so I'm glad it's getting more attention. However, the pang of bitterness is real too, it would have been a monster hit if it had been given a decent video and the song treated with love by her and warners instead of the limp push at radio, uninspired cover art and general "focus on the tour" attitude.
Sigh.

Viusally perhaps. But casual listeners much prefer to have a minute of intro snipped and launch straight into the bop of the century. That's the way it was always meant to be. Listeners of a certain vintage will also recognise the call-to-arms response that those Lucky Star borrowed synths instilled in us ten times a day when we heard it on the radio. I'm 100% sure that the restless streamers of the future will agree. Eventually.

The 4 minute Calderone Mix (track 3) was also already available on the expanded Austin Powers soundtrack. Only 3 tracks were new to streaming last week, one of which was promoted via Radar.

They have, but most artists have had an uptake in streaming performance due to lockdowns and people being able to listen to more music generally. Difficult to measure tbh as the lockdown/releases happened around the same time.

According to someone over on Popjustice, they did script readings recently and have made an offer to an actress for the lead role. Things could be up and running sooner than we think. But I guess early next year makes sense if the plan is to release during the summer of 2023 to tie in with the debut album anniversary.

I think that silly. She has always been interested in more modern contemporary music. She has always liked hip hop long before she had kids. I get that a lot of her fans dislike that style of music, but that is her taste, not imposed on her by her kids or boyfriend. 

I would love her to do a Blondie style, Lower East Side, Downtown-81 type of record.
You're right about disco being a broad catch-all term, one which is largely associated with "basic bops". Now j'adore a basic bop at the best of times, but it's not what I want from her at this point. I can barely listen to Confessions any more (except Get Together). 
Whatever she does, I'll enjoy it as long as she stays away from kindergarten lyric rhyming and distorted noise.

He's been teaching Mercy and David dance classes for a few years now. This must be the payback....

Well maybe there are more reasons behind the scenes, planning, whatever. We don't know.
Another possible reason is to take advatange of the Spotify algorithm, now they're doing things right.
When a track on an album or EP is on Release Radar and performs well, there's a possibility that another random track from the same release is featured on Release Radar the next week.
This happened with the "What It Feels Like For A Girl" release: "Lo Que Siente La Mujer" and the Richard Vission Edit were featured on some Release Radar playlists on the second week, I think.
We'll see tomorrow if another "Express Yourself" remix appears on Release Radar.
