I agree it makes no sense to invest on a musical that is only filmed for streaming. Not a new musical. Hamilton and Once on this island have already been on stage.
Whether it's a movie or a musical, between writing a screenplay or a book, it takes no less than two years until it's ready for production. For musicals it takes time to find financers, to do workshops, tryouts.... By then Broadway will be open, or we'll all be dead!

If people want to use a Madonna song for their movie, they have to get Madonna’s permission AND approval.

I thought she left on good terms because she couldn't turn down the massive deal that LN was offering. After all, Guy O$eary is the one that probably did that negotiating.

They were more than just a “distributor.” If they were making her work with specific writers and producers for the past 3 albums, it wasn’t just a distribution deal...

Give It 2 Me and Celebration were top 10 hits in the UK with barely any promo! Think about the promo that went on for GMAYL, even for a FIRST SINGLE! And it didn’t even manage to get the top 20! Being backed by a major label, like Warner’s, would have allowed some kind of radio support and would have serviced her singles properly!
Living For Love was released in the UK on a Wednesday?!? What label would allow that?!?!?!? Insane!
