I find quite shocking (not only in parts of this topic, just in general) how some fans talk about her looks, her personal life, her boyfriends and even her role as a mother. (And yes, I've been guilty of that, too).
While she's doing what she's always done: living her life by HER own standards, not anyone else's. For better or for worse.

So what ? Should she force herself to be single ? Or should she force herself to stay in a relationship because it could affect her children ? She is a mother but she's a woman too. She has the right to live her life as she wants.
As for Rocco, we don't even know why he left her. BTW, he is the only one who had a problem with her. It was probably a period of teenage rebellion. Lourdes seems to really love her mother. She's not living with her (well she's 24) but she's always near at heart.

The kids DO NOT have a new "step father" every 3 years. Madonna is dating. Madonna is allowed to date. Women are allowed to date one person, multiple people, or whatever they choose to do. A 62 year old woman can date anyone she wants to. 
Madonna has alot of people in her house and around her at all times. For all her kids know in the beginning of a relationship, he's just another dancer hanging around. She's not bringing home a new guy every week, telling her kids to call him "father".  AND She's been dating Ahlamalik for well over a year. And he's 26. NOT BARELY LEGAL. Your ideas of how a woman is supposed to act are cringey. There's not one way a family works.

2nd... You only want to post pictures that feed your narrative. Are you trying to tell me she NEVER looks good?!?! I think your idea of Beauty is so narrow that there is hardly room for experimentation or , heaven forbid, wearing no makeup!!!

So let's see what she should be doing. She should have minimum interventions on her face and body, so she doesn't look like a caricature but she also looks as sexy as she was at 47, pretty easy yeah. Change her looks for her fans who want a queen of reinvention but also not change her hair color to pink or wear grills and also not wear any wigs because they are a safe cheap choice. Then she should date a man her age who looks like crap but of course his music is good and he is a man so he can afford to look like crap and never date a hot dancer she can get anytime because she looks desperate and because her fans are jealous they can't get a man like that. She should age gracefully and start wearing gowns and sing ballads but she should also give her other fans sexy bops and be disco queen again. The real issue I see is in fans' heads and expectations. Find a successful female artist her age who does all that and then tell Madonna to go take notes.

While there is some truth in that, cosmetic surgery isn't exactly the problem. Sometimes yes her face looks very puffy and not at all reminiscent to the woman we used to know but, had she done nothing at all to herself, she would have gotten the same backlash. The only reason she can sing bops like Faz Gostoso or Unapologetic Bitch is because she doesn't look or move like her age would suggest. So in this century where people idolize Kylie Jenner, whose face looks quite close to Madonna's age by now, I cannot accept that surgery or other intervention is what alienates people. I can't think of any woman at Madonna's age that sells as much as she does. She could have looked amazing like JLo who is younger, sure. JLo doesn't sell either. Cher had some minor success only connected to her film career. Madonna's success waned because she got old. Of course she could be selling a bit more with some better moves but I don't think anything about her is the problem. Judging from her peers, she is still on top of all. Europe by the way, a continent quite old demographically, still has a lot of respect for Madonna. South America loves her too. It's mostly the US that are always looking for the next it thing.

In 2012 I made a custom Madonna Monopoly on Photoshop for a fellow friend that is also a fan. I'd forgotten all about it but he sent me pics to remind me, and I remember how much I enjoyed making it - I need to do an updated 2020 one!

I think 99% of the media/public negativity Madonna gets is misogyny. It's usually about, "how dare she be successful and powerful after all these years - she's over 60 and a *gulp* woman! She should just retire and die". It's really disgusting how she gets ridiculed and treated. Then what Madonna tends to do is react defensively and ramps it up to 100 which winds up the detractors even more. And the war escalates.
Equivalent males in the industry are never treated the same way. They are revered and idolised.
But who cares - she's still on top of her industry after nearly 4 decades. She doesn't need to compromise to please anyone.

Word is a member from PopJustice (a reliable one who revealed she was working again with Mirwais two years ago and also that she was recording a part for a Dua Lipa remix) said that the work for her next album has already begun and that she is working with Pat Leonard.  He then removed his post (apparently another reliable member asked a moderator to delete it because whatever M has in store right now musically is supposed to kept secret).

To be hung up on someone/something means that you have an obsession or preoccupation with it, but you don't want to. You're stuck and you realize it and you'd like to move on but you can't. So the lyrics complain about her lover's behavior, but admit she can't move on. 
 
And also, to hang up the phone means to end a phone call, so that's why there are references to telephones in the song too.

Madonna has always been way ahead of the pack (and ahead of some fans that can't move on too)

She was lonely or at least that's the impression. It was taken as a "fun! all dance, non-stop!" album at the time but if you listen to it now and pay attention to the lyrics, there are are truly "confessions" hidden there. "How High", for example.
I appreciate the album more now that I did then. I remember back then it felt great to see her back at the top of her game and of course the album is great and "Hung Up" a SMASH but at the same time as a fan you can clearly see her damage control strategy after the "American Life" fiasco. The previous project had changed everything and nothing was the same after. It felt a little bit like going backwards. But it worked for her obviously.
And now I can see "Confessions" is similar to "American Life" but with a different approach... she was quite clever selling it as a all dance, no ballads light project.
Her horse accident I think changed it all too... there were rumours at the time that she felt Guy wasn't fully there for her at that difficult time. So in the promo she slowly came back to her old self: raunchy, sexy, provocative, etc. etc.

Absolutely! I think M is underrated, not only as a vocalist, but mostly as a songwriter. As you argue, most people — GP and fans alike — often associate her with dance floors, campy pop music, fun, etc. However, her deep cuts remain in the oblivion, as if they didn't exist. The emotional and even intellectual depth of her lyrics and music are incredible, yet not a lot of credit is given to her in that regard. Even in songs like "Medellin", you can hear subtle layers of instrumentation, the intentions behind the production (instruments and voices alike), and it's just a shame no one pays enough attention. Sadly, her downtempo tracks and ballads are the ones who have kind of disappeared more from public memory, and that is my fave Madonna. "Live to Tell", "Promise to Try", "You'll See", "Drowned world", "Gone", "X-static process", "Easy ride", "Masterpiece", "Extreme Occident"... Music & lyrics for the mind and soul!
