  1. Wouldn't it be a bit strange for her to direct her own biopic? I feel like it might be more interesting to have a director show their interpretation and perspective on her story with her as a consultant on the film/co-writing the screenplay rather than being the director. I'm not too sure about this.
  2. I heard Don't Tell Me at IKEA the other day and I was so shocked.
  3. I also think the theater idea is great. It could be a really great experience and I'm excited to see what she does with it. But, like a lot of other people, I think she should at more dates. I just can't pay or travel the distance required to see a show.
  4. I really hope she adds a Toronto date, but I know she probably won't. It's sad that she's not coming here :(
  5. For me, it's What It Feels Like for a Girl. I heard that song and I just felt it immediately. I feel like she was speaking to some of my personal experiences and I just thought the song captured it really well.
  6. You Must Love Me is so beautiful. It's a favorite of mine.
  7. There's this radio station that where I live always plays Madonna. I get so excited every time they play her songs. They usually play Like A Prayer, Material Girl, Open Your Heart or La Isla Bonita.
  8. I think that she'd really have to conform to the current trends in music and I just don't think that would work or that it would even be possible. The music industry is constantly changing and music has become really warped in the past few years. Young people really decide what the hits are and some of them don't even know Madonna's music, so a lot of them (not all of them) really don't have any respect or regard for her. I don't think she'll have another hit, but that doesn't take away from the longevity of her career and the fact that she's gone farther, broken more boundaries and been more successful than a lot of other artists.
  9. They're both dance songs that appeal to the mainstream, but I don't know if you can really compare them like that...
  10. I want M to announce the tour so badly. :Madonna051:

  11. For me, Erotica and Secret were the best lead singles. Their style appeals to my tastes and I think they were just really great ways to lead into both albums. But, Like A Prayer was so controversial and groundbreaking that I can definitely see why it has so many votes.
  12. 1. Bad Girl 2. Erotica 3. Deeper and Deeper 4. Waiting 5. Rain 6. Fever 7. Thief of Hearts 8. Bye Bye Baby 9. In This Life 10. Words 11. Why's It So Hard 12. Secret Garden 13. Where Life Begins 14. Did You Do It? The whole album is amazing, but I still have a couple tracks that I skip sometimes.
  13. She covered I Want You so beautifully. The music video is also one of my favorites of hers. The visuals are stunning.
  14. Happy Birthday, Madonna! I love you so much and you continue to inspire me everyday to become someone that uses their freedom of creative expression and lives a life where sex and sexuality is not something to be ashamed of! And, all these albums, looks, movies and products you've given to us! You are proof that a woman CAN have a career that lasts and resonates in the entertainment industry. You've changed my life. Have a wonderful birthday, Queen of Pop. Much love xxx

  15. My vote definitely goes for Kennedy... because, come on, he was gorgeous. Close second is Guy Ritchie when he was a bit younger. He's got that whole English thing going on and I kind of like it (to my own surprise lol)
  16. I would definitely say B. Love the pins!
  17. 1. Erotica - Deeper and Deeper/Rain 2. Ray of Light - Nothing Really Matters 3. Confessions - Jump 4. True Blue - La Isla Bonita 5. Bedtime Stories - Secret 6. Hard Candy - She's Not Me 7. Like a Prayer - Express Yourself 8. Like A Virgin - Love Don't Live Here Anymore 9. Music - Music 10. Rebel Heart - Living For Love 11. Madonna - Lucky Star 12. MDNA - Give Me All Your Luvin' It was so hard picking an overall fave from Erotica because they're all soooo good, so I had to put two. I seriously love that album so much. There's a lot of songs on there that have really different meanings for me. Rain is such a beautiful love song in my opinion And, seriously, I could dance to Deeper and Deeper forever!
  18. She looks absolutely beautiful and so happy! I love this shoot.
  19. Okay, sure, MTV. This list kind of makes me laugh. It's actually funny to me how bad some of these videos are and, yet, they still made it on there. I don't want to say that music videos have been decreasing in quality and creativity (because that's a very negative viewpoint), but it kind of feels like it.
  20. There's our Queen smashing ageism and expectations of women in the music industry. Love this thread!
  21. I think that's the right answer. I think we all have preferences when it comes to artists with a long career and wide range of works, but at the end of the day, it is their art and we really have no say. I don't think it's art anymore if it's catering specifically to the needs of others and doesn't come from a place of passion, but that's just me.
  22. !!!! This statement is completely true. A lot of the public writes off Madonna's albums like Erotica merely because of what the title suggests of the rest of the album, when it is actually off-topic a bit, like you said.
  23. Express Yourself because it makes me feel so empowered. It was the song that really got me into Madge.
