PlayPause reacted to Blue Jean in Apple Music animated album covers
It's a nice idea in theory but some of them look like fans created it with AI

It looks horrible on my phone. Sharp edges... and the artwork is extremely small compared to the Ray of Light animated one.

I think Jonas Akurland has been shooting shows for another sort of IGTTYAS concert doc. It would make sense since Rio was already happening, just not announced, when he filmed the LA shows in March. He’s done both a straight up concert film for her (Confessions) as well as IGTTYAS. Id be genuinely surprised if Madonna missed the opportunity to document prepping for greatest hits tour, especially with a built in story of her illness derailing her then ultimately overcoming it. My guess is that like IGTTYAS, the concert won’t be shown in its entirety in his version. Luckily we’ll have Rio.

usually special surprises are just hype for something that's not that exciting, but hopefully this time it's something special

PlayPause got a reaction from MaDöner Kebab in Just realized something very interesting about the future Celebration Tour official release....
That's very unlikely, unless they edit inside and outside shots in a way that makes it whole, like the same show. Guess why it never happened before.
The Rio show is going to look very different from the regular shows anyway. And it would be a great pity not to have a full arena-shot movie as it was conceived.
They're really not the same event and can't be shown as the same tour performance besides the obvious behind-the-scenes tour doc. I really hope we'll have a Truth or Dare/IMGTTYAS movie too since the story is already there and strong with the coma/health issue and delay and so on up until her biggest concert ever celebrating her celebration.

PlayPause reacted to Roland Barthes in How Madonna's The Egg super 8 teenage reel is connected to Sheryl Crowe's All I wanna do
In 1974, Madonna was 16 and was in high school at Adams High in Rochester, MI. Wyn Cooper was a classmate and they were assigned to make a short movie for film class. Wyn, Madonna and Madonna's friend Carole Belanger did that Egg movie at a house were Belanger was baby sitting at.
Wyn Cooper remembered this about Madonna then : "We developed a friendship and hung out. I had a Mercury Capri with an eight-track tape player. Madonna and I would hop in the car, drive around and listen to Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars while enjoying a little marijuana. She was social but removed at the same time".
Wyn Cooper became a poet and in 1987 he released "The Country of Here Below" a poetry book, only 500 copies were printed. One of the poem was called "FUN" and started like this "All I wanna do is have a little fun before i die".
Crowe's first album was recorded at Toad Hall Studio in Pasadena with record producers Bill Bottrell* and Kevin Gilbert*. Bottrell took a break and went to next door Pasadena's Playhouse and found copy of Cooper's book in an used bookstore, Crowe wasn't satisfied with a track she recorded "Still Love you", they rewrote the whole song adapting the poem hence Cooper getting a credit that bought him millions of dollars.
* What is really strange though is Bill Bottrell and Kevin Gilbert were respectively mixer and sound engineer assistant on Madonna's albums Like A Prayer, I'm Breathless (he even co-produced the Sondheim tracks) and they mixed the concert parts in Truth Or Dare. Gilbert mixed Now I'm following You Part II and the bottom remixes of Hanky Panky. They both were in Pat Leonard's Toy Matinee band. Bottrell was also a producer for Michael Jackson on Dangerous...
(Gilbert was Crowe's bf at the time and they had a big fall out, Bill Bottrell and him accused her of wrongfully crediting herself for the work they did on the album and ignoring them went it became succesful. Gilbert was also mad at Madonna for unknown reasons. He had a mental breakdown and killed himself in the late 90's)
That's a good example of how small the world can be.

So the tour video Director Sasha Kasiuha has been professionally filming the shows & teased clips on Insta, but since the show in Rio is being broadcast, makes me wonder if we’re getting more than one official release? Will the Broadcast be a 'one off' TV special and we also get the official release that Sasha filmed? Is mamadonna feeding us two pro shot shows?!? If so I think this hasnt happened since we got the WTG japan show officially broadcast and then got the ciao italia show on home video. Hmmmmm makes you wonder...

PlayPause reacted to Rosita The chihuahua in Rolling Stone: How Madonna’s “Into The Groove” Summed Up The History of Dance Music With One Song
This week our hosts Brittany Spanos and Rob Sheffield look at an Eighties dance-floor classic, from one of the all-time biggest pop legends: Madonna’s “Into The Groove.” It wasn’t Madonna’s first single (that was “Everybody”) or her first hit (that would be “Holiday”), but “Into The Groove” is the one that instantly evokes Madonna in her raw, gritty early days. It’s a cheap, fast, in-your-face disco anthem that hits as hard as punk rock, from the hungry young Madonna, aiming to sum up the whole history of dance music in one song. “Into The Groove” is still the song at the heart of her lifelong bond with the club scene and the dance community. It’s the one that where she sings right into your ear: “You can dance, for inspiration.” For this episode Brittany and Rob are joined by one of the most brilliant music writers around, Suzy Exposito, a longtime journalist for Rolling Stone and the L.A. Times. They break down the song’s impact on club culture, including the goth world (the dancing boy in the music video became an iconic goth figure in himself!). They’ll also seek to answer the questions of why we’re all so obsessed with this song? Why does it loom so large over Madonna’s other hits? Why is it the gateway drug that hooks so many generations of Madonna fans? Take a listen to find out!

Anything from I'm Breathless was pretty damn impressive. That was the first time she truly showcased her vocal abilities on a full album.

PlayPause reacted to sdvsr2fan in The Celebration Tour (Spoilers)
I was at both Dallas shows, so here are some small things I noticed:
Night 1:
-She started about 15/20 min later than she has been these past few weeks and I didn't really think anything of it until...
-During the Burning Up speech she said she was in a mood, but I think she played it off really well and even told the crowd she was feeling a lot better during the Express Yourself speech.
-During Celebration, she was saying her thank-you's and she made a very vague apology to Bob, like "Thank you Bob, and I'm sorry for that thing that happened". I wonder if something happened before the show between the two that put her in a funk? IDK, pure speculation.
-The show was PHENOMENAL! I was at the 3rd row after the end of the catwalk so I saw her up close during Hung Up, Don't Tell Me & Express Yourself. Seeing her so close almost... humanizes her in a way? Not sure of the right term, but I just kept thinking "Wow, she's 20 feet away from me. And she's just a normal person". You get so used to seeing her in wide stadium shots on DVD and on TV performances and think she is this untouchable entity, but when you're that close she just feels so normal. Like performing is just her job, she just happens to be incredibly good at it. I'm still on a high from seeing her, so this probably doesn't make much sense.
Night 2:
-I was in the 2nd row of the highest section, so I got a more birds-eye-view of the show. Both floor and upper levels have their strengths and weaknesses.
-She was in a GREAT mood all night, and I felt was a lot more chatty with the audience.
-Her voice was a little more hoarse than normal so it cracked a few times. Nobody seemed to care.
-During both shows, she really stressed her love of being a mother. I think she said night 1 was David's birthday so I think she was in a reflective mood.
-Some of the things you think might not really work, surprisingly do when you see it live. I never hated the ending, but thought it could be improved. However, the audience went crazy with all of the reincarnations, so I think it kind of distracts from some of the weaker points of the encore.
OVERALL, 10/10 concert. Super looking forward to any streaming/video release so I can re-watch in pro quality.
