At 117 bpm is just below the most popular dance tracks but still in the dance tempo. It's the kinda of music you can do more swing and thrust. (reggaeton all goes between 88-120bpm)
And the lyrics kinda suggest the more sexual approach to it.
80s dance music is an evolution of the disco scene and most part of disco tracks are in the lower side 115-130, with exceptions of course.

I want somebody to speed it up for me, then take it down slow. 
There's enough room for both.

Well Madonna is still around after 40 years and can sell an album with old remixes with virtually no promotion. I seriously doubt Ariana will have any achievements 30 years from now or that anyone will care about the few songs that got all the streams. 
Physical media is making a comeback and it’s way more lucrative financially than streaming. So at the end of the day I think she’s still winning. 

I agree, what a MESS… He didn’t even really understand the concept behind FEL, doesn’t have any knowledge of club culture and seems to be stuck somewhere in the early 90s. As someone said in the comments there, he should probably hold out for the 80’s reissues and call it a day.

I love both - but I I think the ray ban glass's and the different colored backdrop for the vinyl slips is iconic - I think it's also clever that the cover for FEL 50 #1s references all the singles with the covers - it would have been a really hard decision to decide on a cover for such an eclective mix of songs spanning 4 decades!

No i think her music started to change when her fans got old and were no longer in touch with the zeitgeist or underground. What's a 64 year old pop star to do? Cater to her aging fans who's consumption of music is only physical and only bash her or should she cater to the current valuable consumers of music who don't know her music and bash her?
